They had a spring ipa that I loved. This one is not bad. For easier on the wallet go to you can't beat the Saranac line. The Legacy is some good beer. Sierra and Founders are also good, easy to find and not crazy priced. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  7. Lol you sound like me!! The grill is shoveled out all winter long. I don't ever shovel driveway or anything else! The smokers I keep in the shed and it is a pain in the a$$ smoking when it is cold and windy out.

  13. We had a good hike. We each saw one grey but no shots. I thought they would be out more at 60 degrees. Should have went out back. We did see a couple deer and got some fresh air. All kinds of deer sign. I hit some thick stuff but continued my goal of never finding a shed in my lifetime!!!! Wish it went a couple more weeks. A bit nicer weather and a break between sports but no dice.
  14. So your paying about $25 and acre? This is a couple years old so maybe your not too far off maybe high 10-20% I just can't figure why lease rates in NY are so high. When comparably land prices are cheaper than most places. And NY deer hunting is not comparable to cheaper places like Kansas, Kentucky...Then again Ohio and Iowa are high, high, high! I guess I should just pull the trigger and buy land and lease half of it to pay the payments! http://deerpros.com/hunting-lease/hunting-lease-price-guide/
  15. I would be more than happy using the same cam for 5 years, hell 10-15 even better. I don't think cams at $100-$200 bocks should be disposable. Its a game cam, I need it to take a picture night or day without missing any. Yes preferably decent quality. But the pic is going to get looked at and for all but a few shooters deleted. I ain't taking artsy pictures to go on the wall. It is a tool that needs to do a very simple application. It is very disappointing that almost all the cams out there are garbage or if not can't last more than a year or two in the field.
  16. Is it just me or are leases at $24 to $32 an acre insane? I can lease land in Kansas for $10 an acre!!
  17. I have no doubt I could do it but would really not want to for a long haul. I like modern plumbing, dentistry, breweries and a wide variety of foods. I mean to really live off the land that means no TP, bug spray, toothpaste, medicine...... I would enjoy a lot of it but not hardcore.

I picked up a 12 pack of this. It is ok but not anything great.
  23. I prefer a little Western straight blade. I can gut or butcher anything from a 6 inch trout to a bull moose with it. Unless you are hunting in southern warm temps I am not inclined to cut pelvic bone or ribs the trade off is not worth the extra contamination and loss of meat. And for cutting limbs a knife saw is like sucking a tit through a wool sweater! Not worth the effort. Just my 2 cents. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. We used to use screw in steps a lot on our private spots along with chain on stands years ago. I can honestly say put in correct they can be very safe and seem a lot easier to climb than ANY strap on steps I have used. We were also a lot younger and nimble back then. I remember hanging stands almost always by myself with no safety lines holding onto the tree with one arm 20 - 30 feet up and screwing in steps or hanging the stand with the other. Very stupid looking back on it. Now I am too old to even have the strength to do that. My brother hung a chain on last year, and we are very safe now he had a safety line all set up, but screwing in 15 steps absolutely sucks, it took him forever and if you don't take out in a year or two they grow into the tree and there to stay forever and makes the tree hazardous down the road for lumber harvest. I have found ladder stands to be a very nice replacement for me. And if I need to be mobile I use my climb on.
