  1. Got a pork butt and a wild hog shoulder thawing out to get smoked this weekend. Probably throw some other stuff in as well if time allows between fishing and turkey hunting.

Not a fan of LongTrail at all. There are a bunch of really good breweries in VT though! I hit a beer festival there a few years ago that was a great time!

    Bullheads ?

The boy and I hit the river for 2-3 hours Saturday night and had zero luck on the heads!
  8. I hate mowing the lawn!! And I don't shovel so no trade there. The back needs a mow soon but I am really putting it off. Got to put the battery back into the zero turn and get some fuel. Maybe later in the week. Once you do the first cut it goes nuts! Not ready for that yet!!
  9. I think you will always have a few times you need to bite the bullet and do the refund. As others have said it is a reputation business and should be figured in as a cost of business just like overhead.
  10. Very cool, I always have felt a lot of us would be real good buds if we ran into each other in RL!!

I'm a bit upset I missed updating on Ommegang concerts for the summer. I missed out on a good show that camping already sold out in one day. And no way going to a concert at a brewery and not camping there!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. The last time I did Jerky I was a teen back in the 80s and with a kettle smoker. It was fantastic but took like a day and a half and we ate it all in like 45 minutes. I was like dang!! Have not made it since!! A lot of work to do it right and it takes a lot of good meat to get a little bag of final product. It was disheartening it was gone so fast lol! I have never tried ground and the jerky shooter method. I have wondered about it and if it is any good because you end up with deer fat in ground and if that throws it off.
  13. That is some thick looking Jerky. Interested to see it along the way and finished!! Keep us posted.

Oh lord I hope you didn't drink that! A better use would be for self defense you could throw it at a criminal or worse make em drink it!!
  17. You must rattle like a bag of drum sticks walking in the wood with all those strikers!! lol JK real nice work man. I have one pot call and one striker, am a terrible turkey hunter and some day may be lucky enough to kill one while truly hunting turkey!! I have taken a couple but as opportunity arose while not specifically turkey hunting. My 1,2 or 3 trips out a season is more hope on luck than anything else!!
  18. I will probably switch back and forth. I took one with each last year. I enjoy the early season more than which weapon I have. I actually believe by including the crossbow we will lower the wounding rate significantly. I believe that there are a LOT of bow hunters that do not practice or do like a lot of gun hunters and dig out the bow and shoot the day or weekend before bow season starts. These hunters will switch over to crossbows because it is easier and be more proficient. Yes we will increase the overall amount of hunters in the woods but the ones that are not serious will not stick it out for the most part. And as usual I bet I still run into a lot more yahoos out there in gun season.
  19. Saranac Legacy is one of my favorites on affordable good beer. In fact they make quite a few good selections. I like IPAs as well as Stouts and Porters. Love trying all kinds of beers. My go to 30 pack beer would be Miller Light, used to be Blue Light but now Miller.
  20. Both the women and the men had a great weekend!! I watched all 4 of the games. GO SU!!!!
