Welcome to HNY cdbing. Lots of info and lots of interesting characters here. Enjoy, and best of luck to you this season.

I'm planning on attending because I could use some information on this coming directly from the LE community. There is way too much stuff floating around right now that is just not helpful at all. I'd like it cleared up. And Belo, no it won't be a political rally this time. The law(s) are written, and now I want to know how to navigate them to retain my rights. (A very strange statement when you think about it).

I think many of them advertise their IQ's on their jerseys. -
Anyone have interest in a brush hog?

Thanks for the responses, folks. Just for clarification, it's a 4' Woods, not 5'. And it's been stored in a barn on blocks for most of its life. It's currently located in Newark, NY. About halfway between Syracuse and Rochester along Rte 31. -

I'm just checking here for my Dad. I have no specs, details, or photos at this time but I seem to recall: 15 to 20 years old but without a ton of use; 5' Woods; it's heavy, and it's heavy duty. He's likely to be very reasonable with the price, so I'm just throwing this out there to my fellow HNYers before it goes to CraigsList or something. -
Sorry WNY. Back to the OP. I've driven a few Subarus on the road and was always pretty impressed. They feel pretty solid and handle well once you get used to the front engine AWD characteristics. Same goes for the little bit of off-road I did in a banged-up WRX that a friend owns. I walked away thinking, wow.

Ouch!!! I wore support when I used to plane down the boat hulls that I built. That kind of body motion all day was unfriendly. Larry? We're not helping, are we?
-
Left break/right break was always a consideration if I recall. It was many years ago, and it was more about the drinking with friends than the golf.
-
A thong was always my best defensive strategy during a golf outing, especially on the green. Just when you get an edge, they take it away... ;-]

Enjoy your upcoming retirement, rachunter!

Very generous giveaways, my friend.

When I tuck my shirt in I'm generally in violation of NYS concealed carry laws. And the ankle holster doesn't work with shorts at all.
-
From Subarus, to Jorts and cargo shorts, and then to golf. I'm impressed.
-
The back also has several layers of carpeting so that the rails where the seats used to be don't irritate my body in a drinking camping situation.

My brother drives roughly 40,000 miles a year around CNY and has owned nothing but Subarus for the last 20 years. Dealer maintenance for everything. Even simple things like oil changes get logged for the vehicle, and even with 250,000+ miles he gets a pretty hefty trade-up allowance from the dealer when the time comes. They're not cheap to begin with because they're not made to be cheap. They're made to last when properly cared for. And they do that. And, if I worried about what people think of my vehicle I probably wouldn't drive a mini-van, but it's the best damned work truck I've ever owned. I'm too worn out to be climbing into the back of a pickup truck, or to worry about what other people think.

...to open federal lands to more public use. Secretary Zinke wants to allow more Americans to use the lands they own. What a novel idea. http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2017/09/18/sec-zinke-issues-order-expand-hunting-fishing-national-wildlife-areas/ https://www.doi.gov/sites/doi.gov/files/uploads/signed_so_3356.pdf

Who all hunts with a handgun ?
philoshop replied to rob-c's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
I used to do a lot of deer hunting literally crawling through very dense thickets of scrub apple; wearing waders in swamps where having both hands free is actually necessary for survival; and numerous other situations where long-guns just don't work. I'll take a rifle shot any day, but there was a time when I liked to meet them face-to-face on their own turf at just a few feet, and a handgun was the only real option under those conditions. -

.44 mag. Knocks 'em down pretty well. -
As long as these complaints and accusations are being leveled at the entire administration, and not just Trump himself, let's not forget the $6 BILLION that mysteriously went missing from the Obama State Department under the direction of Hillary Clinton. It's still missing, and I'd be willing to bet that it wasn't used to pursue the interests of the U.S. citizens.

They're pretty 'rough' for anything like fine furniture but I've been using them for years where appropriate, like installing kitchen cabinets. They're a lot handier than having three different drills, or spending/wasting time changing bits three different times for every hole. One drill for the holes, and one drill/driver for the screws.
-
Also known as step drills. Pilot hole, screw shank clearance hole, and countersink all in one. The shank is hollow because it's just rolled sheet metal, as Doc pointed out.

Just like ice fishing, (or being a little kid headed for school), HD lined mittens tied to a cord through the jacket sleeves to keep from dropping or losing them. It's like a muff but you can still grab stuff.

Happy Birthday to your 15 YO son!! I don't think he'll ever forget either.
