    No Fawns

I had two does, each with one fawn, in my back yard Saturday morning. They seemed to be mowing my grass, which is cool. And there were two rabbits along the edge of the woods just beyond the deer who seemed to be reenacting a Woodstock love-fest or something.
  2. When I bought my place seven years ago there was a spot in my woods that was completely torn up by animals. I knew what it was, but after talking to neighbors they confirmed that the previous owner had set out salt and mineral licks for many years prior to my purchase. Is it considered unethical if I hunt near those "legacy" salt licks? I only have an acre of woods, so it's not like I can just move to another part of the property. What do you think?
  3. I like happy endings, Paula.
  4. It's a good idea to store important photos somewhere other than just your home computer. They could be lost forever if something happened to your hard drive.
  5. When did PB start charging for their services? So much for photo 'sharing' eh.
  6. I hope you mean you stopped by a beer tent after riding, and not that you actually ran into the beer tent while you were riding.
  7. My brother has a mulberry tree on his hedgerow. Even though it's mostly in the middle of nowhere, with no nearby cover for animals, there were rarely any left on the ground in the mornings. I'd climb the tree and shake the branches so we could have some to eat. Lightly mush them with a spoon and make pancakes like you would with blueberries!
  8. Just one more in a long list of reasons why the left is so opposed to homeschooling at any level. Even daycare for toddlers.
  9. 1,000 more likes on this, Doc. You've nailed it very succinctly. Thank you.
  10. De Blasio made a statement on radio today(?) that clarified his intent. He's anti-Trump and wanted to make sure that his anti-Trump voice was heard internationally. The problem for De Blasio is that this was/is not an ant-Trump rally. The protestors are Anarchists who don't like any form of government, and particularly don't like globalist forms of government. On this it's likely that many of them might agree with Trump, although they would never support him. The protestors were/are there to be loud and break stuff. DeBlasio seems to support that, without knowing what they really want. He's not very bright. A retired NYPD Lieutenant made it clear that most of the force hates the guy and is very happy that he didn't show up to the swearing-in ceremony anyway. If he tries to speak at the funeral, many of them may just turn their backs on him as they have done before. With regard to the 'prepper' issue I'll only say that De Blasio and people like him will soon be running for the presidency of the U.S., and that the citizens should be prepared for that.
  11. Mea culpa, mea culpa. Best Birthday wishes to you both!
  12. Thanks Papist. I suppose I should look into it, and maybe cut back on looking at CNN, MSNBC, et al for opposing drivel views. I need to cut back the work hours. ;-]
  13. I have a 10 year old flip phone that is mostly unusable for even text messaging. Can I do twitter on the computer?
  14. I don't do twitter, Papist, so I think I'm missing some of your best stuff. ;-] I like the fact that thousands of anti-CNN memes and GIFs have come out recently. They're funny, and they give me a sense that people are actually paying attention and they're really pi**ed off. Wolverines.
  15. Yeah. You would think that, and I would think that too. De Blasio doesn't care. Like Cuomo, he's focused on his presidential run in 2020. Bring it!. Either one of them will be crushed like the little bugs they are.
  16. The NYPD is swearing in 524 new officers today, and Mayor De Blasio is in Germany giving a speech to a crowd of anti-capitalist, Anarchist protestors at the G20 Summit. Gives you an idea of what this a**hole thinks of his police department. He'll probably skip the funeral as well. There is video of the shooter casing out the scene in the minutes before the assassination, walking by the car 2 or 3 times and scoping things out. Very sad.
  17. What a great family holiday! Congrats all around!
  18. In Europe they call them squab. They're pigeons, roof rats, whatever. I thought when I was younger that my grandfather had a barn just to attract pigeons as targets and game. We ate a lot of them. The chickens, pigs, and cows had to be nurtured and grown, but the pigeons and squirrels were available year 'round. Shooting pigeons around a barn is also some of the most fun I've ever had with my pants on. Bring lots of ammo.
  19. My Grandma put a gun in my hand and told me to bring home some pigeons for dinner. She also said, "Don't shoot your Grandpa on the tractor". I was ok on both counts.
  20. It would be nice if CNN spent half as much time, money, and energy researching what they put forth as 'news'. Ive been following this closely. President Trump has forced CNN to fall on their own sword and completely discredit themselves. Nicely done, Mr. President.
