Here’s my first bow buck. It was opening day November 1. Pretty sure it was 1997. He was a tank. Dressed out at 205. Not only was his right g3 snapped off, but his entire left main beam was broken off as well. He still had a split brow on his left side with a kicker off the base. I could only imagine what he must’ve looked like before. I was shooting an Oregon Valiant Crusader with some heavy ass aluminums at the time.

Finally got to the range today and I am super happy with the way this thing shoots. I shot Some Federal 90 gr gold dots, some hand loads from Druid Hill Armory which were also 90 gr gold dots, Nosler 115 BTHP, and finally some Hornady 120 gr SST. They all shot great groups, and if I use it for deer, I’ll probably shoot the SST’s. If Cavity Back Bullets ever decides to sell loaded ammunition, that’ll be at the top of my list. I also shot my .223 Wylde for the first time as well. What a tack driver. I can shoot that thing all day! I might have to get into hunting yotes now.

I think you are right grampy. I get some cool pics in this spot. I always see Northern Harriers cruising this field and even got a few pics of them this year in mid flight.

Just got this pic and thought it was a pretty cool looking bird. Anyone know what it is?

I have an Icon as well. You’ll love it. It’s a great bow for the money.

Chiggers are mite larvae. I’ve had them. First time I had them, the Dr gave me a cream to kill them. Clear nail polish works good too. Permethrin works great at keeping them off of you in the first place.

I have noticed that the bachelor groups are starting to disperse. Less than half of the bucks are out of velvet where I’m at. I’m sure the rest of them will be out this week. I was getting a lot of mid day pics with the moon earlier in the week. Bucks included. BTW, I’m not on that property to your east anymore. Since the farmer put up that deer fence, it kind of screwed everything up. Still on the fork, but much further east.

Been getting pics of hard horned bucks since last week. Got my first pics of 2 of them doing some sparring tonight.

If it’s an AR and 6.8 caliber, I don’t see why not. It’s a mil spec BCG. If you do a search for ARP superbolt, you’ll see that it is an extremely strong bolt with great reviews.

$125 shipped. Someone please buy this so that I don’t do something stupid and buy another barrel...

I couldn’t take it anymore. Decided to swap out my lower until I make some changes. Anyone want to buy a Thordsen stock?
-
I have an extra BCG that I’m willing to part with. It’s brand new from ARP, just received it today. When I was having my upper built, I bought an extra due to not being able to obtain the original one for my build. It’s a mil spec m16 carrier that is parkerized and chrome lined with a Nickel Boron treated 9310 alloy superbolt, firing pin, cam pin,and cotter key. I don’t need to sell this, but doing so will probably stop me from building another, as now I have my eye on a 16” Socom barrel that I really don’t need. Lol. If anyone is planning on doing a build anytime soon, carriers are extremely hard to come by right now. $150 shipped.

Finally got my upper squared away and my new 6.8 “Sleepy Joe AR14” is finally complete. I went with an ARP 18” mid weight barrel with 3r 1:11.25 twist, ARP superbolt, and a LaRue 2 stage trigger. I got a great deal on a Leupold 1.5-5x20mm scope. I went with a Thordsen stock, but I may be changing it out and putting a magpul on it like my other lower. I also plan on buying another AR Maglock and kingpin as well. I had a very hard time getting the carrier for this. And as it turned out just when I had about given up and purchased another BCG, this one showed up. So I’ll probably have a brand new BCG with a superbolt up for sale next week if anyone is interested. Luckily, I started buying ammo for this back in June. I have several different types that I’ll be trying out, including some SPCII Speer gold dots hand loads that I purchased for a great price. In fact, he is supposed to start loading Cavity Back bullets as well for sale in the near future. Hopefully I can get out in the next week or 2 to see how she shoots.

How do you do the batch send? I didn’t see it on the app.

I tested several this year and ended up going with Easton 6.5 match grade 300 spine. At 29.5” and 100 grain insert with a 125 grain Montec for a total of 538 grains with 16.1% FOC.

I’m very happy with mine. No complaints here.

Nice pic. That buck may have broke his antler while still in velvet. This buck broke off his tip on his right side a few weeks ago. This pic is from this morning.

As per the DEC website, rifle is now legal in Tompkins County.

I’m just curious if anyone here has ever dealt with them before?
-
Exactly. And he has flip flopped on this issue, depending on the day of the week. The fact is the Democratic/Socialist Party in general is in favor of redirecting funds and limiting the powers of law enforcement. Just because Biden keeps changing his mind on this, doesn’t change the fact that the entire party is looking to disarm Americans as well as creating chaos amongst us. The 2 most important issues for me above everything else are my 2nd amendment rights and 100% support of law enforcement. If any candidate or person can’t provide support for those, I have no use for them.

And to say that you’re not a one issue voter and would vote for someone who is anti 2A, what about voting for someone who wants to defund the police? Anyone in their right mind who wants to defund the police is an idiot in my book and should go f*** themselves. If you honestly think that you can support these people and their idiotic thinking, you need your head examined. You better sell those guns of yours before heels up Harris comes for them.
