Really cool buck! Good luck with him. I shot a freak a few years back that was aged at 6.5. I never saw him before, but I would’ve guessed that he probably was in decline.
-
Do you have any pics of him from last year? I’d be curious if he has declined, or is this year his biggest?

Not out today but I’m seeing a lot of activity on my cams this morning. Should be even better as the wind lets up. Good luck to everyone that’s out. -

He was even cooler when he had a matching set of hooks -

This 8 has been hanging around my stand for the past week hitting the acorns. I had decided to pass on him as he’s probably 3.5 and there are 2 of his older brothers in the area. I might have to rethink my decision, but he will be a stud if he goes another year. He did have a matching set of brows with hooks on the tips before he broke his right one off -
This buck worked over the overhanging branch for several minutes. But I’ve never quite seen this move that he does before. I’m not sure what exactly happened here. Maybe he got a stick in the eye?

Different doe in 3rd pic.

He gets a pass

And that right there is the reason that I won’t drink coffee before a morning hunt. I have 2 cups every day first thing, but not if I’m going in the woods.

I plan on making a Xmas tree out of my pile one day.

My Spartan sends a pic every time it is taken. I usually get about 800-1000 pics on a set of batteries.

You still have my number? Send them over when you have a chance.

I have 5 cell cams. 3 of my buddies have another 7. We can all view each other’s pics on our phones. It sure is nice being able to see the pics as they come in. Also to be able to spot trespassers immediately. It has helped me confront a few people that showed up snooping around.

So sorry for your loss. I just went through this 2 weeks ago. I had to put my Weimaraner down. It’s never easy losing a family member.

Montecs fly identical to my field points with my setup. Both deer that I shot last year didn’t make it 20 yards.

I got pics of a bachelor herd this morning. They all were still in velvet. Upon downloading the video, I noticed 2 of them circling each other, with their ears tucked back. Maybe the first ones will be shedding by the weekend.

Great looking pup Steve! Good luck with her! GSP’s were always on my short list to replace my Weimaraner, but honestly I don’t think that I have the time or energy to devote to one right now. But I would gladly puppy sit, if you ever need one! Lol.

I think Fredo needs to have his guns taken away. He became unhinged way too easily.

The thing is, with a cell cam you’ll know on a daily basis where the deer are moving and when. Unlike a conventional cam when you’re looking at pics that may be a week or 2 old. With a cell cam you’ll more likely be in the right spot when you get a pic of a shooter buck. And if you’re not, you can make a move for the next hunt to be in the right spot.

Great camera placement. My best cam is also placed in front of a licking branch. Makes for some great photos, even this time of year.

This was him last year
