Happy Birthday!

I thought that you only needed a FFL for transactions conducted that were shipped. I could be wrong, but if you’re meeting with the seller, I don’t think that you need someone with a FFL present.

Good job! I spotted this Osprey the other day near my house unable to fly. His right wing was injured. I’m not sure if he tangled with one of the 2 bald eagles that has been hanging here around lately. I called the local wildlife rescue and they came and picked him up.

Pear tree in bad health?
NonTypical replied to corydd7's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
I wouldn’t do that. Wrapping the bark will cause more issues. Upon looking at the pics more closely, I would definitely say that they are planted to deep. In the second pic, you can see how the grade is higher in the back by at least a few inches. In the first pic, it appears the hay is at grade but I would bet that if the hay is pulled away the base of the trunk is well below grade. It is very important for the bell at the base of the trunk to be at least at grade, but preferred 2-3” above. Even if they are planted at the right height, too much mulch or hay around the base of the tree will cause the same issue. The bark of the tree needs to breath. -

Pear tree in bad health?

Maybe planted too deep? It’s hard to tell from the pics. Clear around the base of the trunk and take another pic. Even having mulch or straw built up around the base can cause issues. -
I’d like to thank everyone for the birthday wishes. I really appreciate it. It was a special day for me as I spent it with my Dad who got discharged from the hospital yesterday after a couple of rough months.

The fire is out and nobody was found inside...

Happy Birthday! Hope it’s a great one!

Still wondering about the Spartan.

I buy the 36 pack of Energizers from Home Depot for about $15. They seem to work better than the Duracell’s that I’ve tried from Costco.

What model is the Spartan AT&T? XB?
-
You’ll love them. They really are a game changer.

Ok. So there were adjustments made in between shots. I usually take 2-3 shots before an adjustment is made. It looks like you are getting it dialed in.

Were you using the same fletched arrow every time? There has to be a reason for different tears. Shots 5 & 6 look good. Maybe it’s your form causing the inconsistencies.
-
Was the paper set up at 10 yards? I seem to remember setting it up at a much closer distance. 8-10 feet maybe? The tears seem a little inconsistent. Your form will affect the tear. I would use only one arrow that you know is perfectly straight. Take multiple shots with a single arrow until get a consistent tear.

Thanks Steve. I bet you could make some great promotional videos the same way.

It was on my IPad. If you go to the photo app, create an album. Once that is done, select it and there is a > at the top right of the page. Click on that and you can see a slideshow of your album. You can modify and edit it to different lengths and select music it for it. Then select the circle with 3 dots on the top right to save it to memories. I started the album with all of my pics that I saved from the season, the edited it down several times to about 50 pics or so.

Agreed. I’d definitely recommend paper tuning your bow first. Once that is done, then small changes to the arrow itself can be made.

The USDA has been doing it here on Long Island for years. Mostly in State Parks and Brookhaven National Laboratory. The use corn, night vision scopes, and silencers. They can pretty much wipe out an entire location in no time.

I was going thru my seasons trail cam pics the other day and I found a neat feature on my IPad. I selected a bunch of my best pics and it put together a short clip of my season, so I thought I would share.

We only use Honda’s at work. They will run several hours a day, 5 days a week, for years. They get abused daily and they keep going. Nothing even comes close. They are worth every penny.

IIRC, the Boy Scouts are very involved in looking for sheds. Everything that they find gets auctioned off.
