  3. Looks pretty close to me. I would think he is the same buck but it's tough to call.
  4. Congrats on an awesome buck!
  5. anyone else have any info on the 3n/3s area. I got skunked Tuesday and Wednesday but am hoping for a different morning tomorrow. Iv only seen a few scrapes in some areas and that's it.
  6. Nothing as of yet in 3N/3S. A few scrapes here and there and I've heard of a few young bucks running does but this last week I sat two full days and didn't see a single deer in high traffic areas. I'm thinking with next weeks cool down it should finally get kickin

  8. Anyone been seeing any signs of the rut? I've been seeing a few scrapes popping up in the Putnam/Westchester area but nothing substantial just yet.
  9. I know a couple guys who are on antler ices upcoming show. It's a legit company must be a misunderstanding. Hope they get back to you soon
  10. Sitting in the stand in Putnam county. 20% chance of rain turned into a wet sit and no deer so far
  11. I have a 2011 Mathews Z7 extreme in lost camo for sale. It is 28 inches ATA, can be adjusted from 24.5 to 29.5 inches for draw length and is a 50-70 pound bow. The bow has been babied and is in great shape. It's an awesome smooth drawing bow and is one of the quietest I have ever shot. Hate to get rid of it but I don't need three bows kicking around the house. Comes with peep, kisser, and trophy ridge drop away rest. Looking for 650 or best offer. The bow is located in Putnam county.
  12. I have used the all season urine didn't really notice too much of a difference. Curios about how the doe in heat works though
  13. I was wondering if anyone has any expirence with either of these arrows and if they are really worth the money. Currently I shoot the easton axis on a mathews chill but I am getting a carbon spyder and want to do a different set up for this one. Any input is appreciated
  14. I used and loved a pendulum sight for my first 4 years of bow hunting. Killed a few deer with it and thought what could be a better sight for a tree hunter like me. This was until I missed a 140s 8 at 35 yards. Pendulums are only good out until max 30 yards even from a tree I have since switched to a 5 pin and have had no problem. Get a range finder and pins and your fine just shot a wide 6 at 30 yards last night.
  15. So it sounds like it's more experimenting and enjoyment of the process. Il check out a bitzenburger and maybe start to just mess around with it.
  16. I've recently been thinking about building my own arrows from the shaft up. Is there really a big difference in doing such compared to buying pre fletched arrows. I shoot the easton axis 400's with 2 inch blazers. I would most likely go with a straight offset if i were to build them anyway. Any input would be appreciated.
  17. The xstorm insulated pants are awesome I got last years version on clearance and they are by far the warmest pants I've ever owned
  18. welcome. In New York you get one either sex archery/muzzle loader and one either sex regular season. You can also purchase DMP (doe management permits) for $10. availability depends on zone and when you buy them. Westchester is 100% draw rate. Putnam and Dutchess you will get one, if purchased early enough you may get lucky and get one of each or two of the same.
  19. I have a mathews Z7 xtreme that i bought in 2010 brand new that I absolutely love. However about 5 seasons ago I drew back on a deer let down and had a twig caught inbetween the cam and string on a hunt with my old hoyt. The deer came back into a lane and as soon as i drew back on the deer the string popped leaving me without a bow for a week. Being that I go out of state atleast once a year i purchased a Mathews Chill and have the Z7 as a back up. Couldnt as for a better duo.
  20. If you have a perfect broadside shot and perfect placement they'll work. That being said so will any broadhead, from what i saw last year these were not very durable at all. A friend of mine used them and 2 out of 3 broad heads were destroyed just hitting dirt on a miss. My opinion return them, if you want to stay with a fixed blade shoot G5 montec or strikers they're a great fixed head. As mechanicals go you have a world of options as they are the trend now a days.
  21. Any chance i get I take it. shot one last year out of the stand had to stand perfectly still for 30 minutes and got busted by the lead hen on the draw. Managed to slip an arrow at a hen who was away from the flock. An hour later shot a doe and walked out with a turkey/deer combo.
  22. Well I'm in the Southern/Hudson valley zones in putnam. If I see plenty of resident geese in parks and small retention ponds along roads but we lack the fields to really give us an edge forcing me to resort to hunting state land ponds. Farms are getting hard to come by in my area so true corn and soybean fields are kind of out of possibility at the moment
