I usually get at least 1 pic every summer of coyotes killing deer.. This is close to where an average sized adult doe used to bed inside a bug cluster of mature honeysuckle on a daily basis.. She'd let you walk right up on her, then take off after you passed. Never saw her again after this string of pics.. Not sure if they gang'd up on her or she was protecting her fawn. I have several videos in the last 2 seasons where you can hear and see coyotes chasing a doe and her fawns back and forth through the woods.. day and night.. Kinda neat but a little chitty..

Thats a beauty Moog!Too rich for my poor blood lol. GL!! -
Everything I've read about dogs killing deer, is that they kill to kill, not consume. Pretty chitty..

Bought my wife a small vanity for doing her makeup a few weeks ago. And as usual, her grandmother ruined the surprise just the other day, cause shes like that, since they arent currently getting along .... I Cant stand nosey a$$ people. Anywho, Ill probably grab her a gift card to her hair salon and a beautifully printed card lol. Dinner if we can find a sitter.. We take care of each other, since times get very stressful with work, and kids that require more attention than most.. I dont need it all, but I have to keep up with her.. chits not easy!! Lol

The ball head will tilt if the tripod is not perfectly level, where the fluid head rotates 360 left to right, and up and down only. Not that big of a deal in most cases, Id just like to try both and see what works best. I also considered just using an atv rack gun holder instead of a saddle mount. again just to try, they can be had for 20$ most places..

Thats what I wanted to do as well, but our laser runs non stop. For the next ones I am going to try and find time to cut out that grid pattern. As for the quick attach, ill try and get a pic of it tonight. Its in my basemet currently, and i get on this site at work. It is just a quick attach base, that you'd find on any camera arm (brand specific) I just removed the center screw(1/4-20), machined threads for a 5/16-18 screw in the bottom of the saddle mount and attached with a button head screw. The top of the base has cork, and the mount is duracoat. The two together hold great. I have machined simple versions of this to fit a different mounting head

Loaded the deer up, with just one hand or two? Lol. Good man right there..
-
Bought an extra quick attach bracket for 9$ if i wanted to run my video cam on it still..

My lunch breaks and the very little down time i have between jobs, my head is always going with "government jobs" lol
-
Already attached! lol. look at the picture where its been dura-coated, you'll partially see it under neath. My fluid head has the quick attach to it..

If I can find time, Ill gladly make you all one, Just may be many many lunch breaks from now lol. This is mounted to a fluid head currently, only because i had one on hand. But a ball head would be even better. I just kept it cheap as I could for this test mount. Ill Take it to the field test it, and see what I need/want to change etc.. As for adding a curve or angle, My initial thought was to just add more "cushion/padding" at the top, as long as its secure and rigid it should act as the same. But I can also put a light angle to it as well. I was hoping enough padding or cushion should absorb the contour of and stock enough to dead hold it.. We''ll see... Brad requested one too so that makes #6 lol

ITs a rubber gasket material. They make in one of the departments where I work. 3/16" thick held with Double sided tape.

I machined this saddle mount from scratch for my tripod.

Spread a good blend of whites, maybe even a red. Multiple varieties of white clovers Gives you "layers" of clovers. Plus if one or 2 clover varieties dont take, you have the others you can rely on. Chicory can also be frost seeded. And deer love chicory, especially when clover goes dormant in hot dry spells of summer. Not sure if your brand specific or not, but there are several good seed companies out there.. DeerAg, Grandpa Rays outdoors Northwoods Whitetails. All great companies that will give you great advice if requested. Regardless of whom you chose, id recommend a good white clover blend, with a medium red clover and chicory if possible. Big blends can be so beneficial if done the right way.. Seed 1.5 x the normal rate in beginning of March , per bag instructions. A bag spreader is perfect for this, clover seeds are tiny. Your WW will act as a good nurse crop to young growing clovers, Just mow before it seeds out. Then sit back and watch it grow. For best results, next time plant your clovers with your WW in the Fall. Glad to help in any way I can..

Forgot to mention, My setup can be used sitting down, kneeling or standing up. Pretty versatile.

I know people like to bash it, but you do what you gotta do when funds are not perfect. I went to goodwill and the salvation armys around looking for tripods. Picked up several for under 5$ each. Picked out the most rigid one and then made a saddle mount for it. then bought a fluid head to attach the mount to also for better movements Total setup cost me 34$ Sturdy as can be. Gun adjustment/movement is great

You and me both! lol

I considered it, but it was the first gun ive ever won in the many years of trying. And My dad was supposed to be present, but he passed recently before so it was some sentimental feeling that made me keep it. Won a browning x bolt, and a ton of hunting gear that night as well. lol. It Was a wonderful night to say the least
