  1. Easter has me booked for the weekend. Decided to have the gathering at our new house... it does stink it coincides with the Youth Hunt. I may get a few hours Saturday morning, Ill have to find a youth since my Step son wants to go with his dad, whom has zero experience turkey hunting and wont let me try to help them out. Lol. Best of Luck Dan! I love calling for someone else especially a youth, more than actually hunting.
  2. Been doing no till food plots for several years now, with tons of different seeds, all besides corn. Have yet to try it. ITs so easy and simple, and less time consuming. Work around Rain, Utilize cover crops and plant now, for your next planting too.... Easy once you get the hang of it.. Though i do really miss the smell of fresh tilled dirt!! Like dearly!! Lol
  3. Ive heard of many battery issues with the 570, especially in the ranger. Most seem to get a year or 2 out of them and their toast.
  4. You dont need to rake it in, either roll it with a roller or let the rain take care of it for you. No need to rake. The ground is moist enough where you dont need to disturb soil, you'll only release weed seeds.. ITs not too late, There will still be a frost or two.. The only issue is competition with green-up happening now/soon. Spread seed or wait and spray it in a few weeks then spread seed..
  5. I agree, if its really got you on the fence, and there is that much distance to travel to purchase and pick up this piece. Id either agree on a lower price, and make aware how much its going to cost you to just drive there... and back and still pay high dollar. You'll still be the same person with or without it, less hassle, less stress, stress is not needed over 100$ spent or not..
  6. I used 1-800-contacts for many years. no issues
  7. If its a good friend, and you'd be happy, hanging on to his gun for many more years. Id take it regardless if its 50 or 100$ higher than what the book says. To me its a decent deal. As long as money isnt tight at the time... Hate to see you regret not buying it over a few bucks... Especially knowing you'll take dam good care for it, where someone else might not.. If you pick it up post some pics, would love to see it. I love bottom ejecting guns
  8. I guess the same rules apply, The younger the better tasting! But..... You cant imagine how many tears i cried as i culled each one of those little babies "pun intended" LOL!!
  9. The 25-06 has been on my list for quite sometime now. I first wanted it as a deer rifle, But after further research, Id love to sling some 75gr vmax of 77smk for coyotes. They would be traveling fast. Im really firm on using my ML or dads 7mm08 for deer, so I really ave no desire for another deer gun currently. For some reason though, Ive been wanting this 25-06 in a single shot, and idk why?!?! Lol.
  10. Since last Fall, i follow these guys. They are great. No doubt
  11. That is awesome sir! way cool, Id love to have a fox pup or coyote pup. This is just too cool.
  12. Awesome, Make sure you post results or send me some pics! have a 555 in my 870 with ok results, nothing spectacular. just good hunting patterns. Gonna sell it and replace it with a youth 870 i think, or a tristar
  13. I was also told by the land owner, on a property we predator hunt in 8F that there was a pair of coyotes cruising during daylight many times this winter and one of the 2 was all black as well..
  14. That was my first thought, but they move about totally different. So it ruled out being a Fisher IMO
  15. Nice, Got a new Sumtoy 562 coming for the mossberg 20 and a couple new recipes to try out. Ill try to get some loaded this weekend with my 4yr old daughter. Gotta Build a shot trap then ill shoot em"
  16. Anyone ever seen a "Black" Red Fox? On my travels to work this morning(430am) I laid eyes on what i swore was a red fox, looked and acted just as they normally do around road sides... but it was all Black!? Seen and taken many grey and red fox through the years but never seen one like this.. Ran off like a red fox does too.. Thought it was neat.. Canadice/Richmond Area
  17. Did mine a week ago, Bunch of perennial whites, alfalfa and chicory. Couldnt find my bag of med. red until last night. lol. Ill spread that in a few days if i get the chance. My food plots will probably be lacking pretty good this year if things around home stay the way they are..
  18. Matt, are you just carving all these sweet pieces to get first place in the "Likes" department?? Cause your on your way or already there!!! Lol. Great work Mr!
  19. With each passing Deer Season, I tend to realize more and more how thankful I am, to be rewarded enough just to be out enjoying the outdoors. Guess what, I get 19 days vacation time, wanna know how much I have left by the time Deer season rolls around, basically none, after many many sick days between my 3 kids, If time permits, a vacation with them to keep them happy and satisfied lil schits. I used to get pissed when trying to manage properties for more mature age class of bucks and having neighbors shoot "dinks", after losing my 2 best friends whom I used to enjoy hunting seasons with has changed all that... Times change, reasons change, seasons change and life goes on.. If you let it. Enjoy the time you have, dont hold grudges, and do the best you can for yourself and others, afield or not.. I put serious money and time(the little extra i get that my kids dont consume) goes into building habitat for their generation and there after. I havent filled a tag since 2016. It doesnt bother me a bit. This is a hobby, its a passion, and a privilege. Lets not spoil it for everyone else.. SHOOT WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY, Just make sure it is legal, and please dont start by saying, its not my biggest but... With that being said, no.. I still wont shoot a small buck. But I wont judge any one who does. The camaraderie is whats its all about. I can sit and go without tagging venison and still enjoy creation. Id rather watch and or give someone else the opportunity at a harvest. Build up new hunters to take my place one day.. Which speaking of, I need to find a youth for Spring turkey... Hunt on Ladies and Gents'...
  20. Nice rig sir! Almost bought a grendal myself recently, except i backed out and stuck with 223 wylde. Not expecting long range with night vision. Gonna top mine with the new Sightmark Wraith i believe. Keep us posted.
  21. I will do my best to make it next year, Praying for healthy kids at home! I love these banquets though, They are usually the only time or two, my wife and I get to go out together each year. Makes for a great night in a great atmosphere! Great Work Bob.
