  1. Made it out Friday evening for the first 2 sits of the year. Felt great to be out, even though it was extremely dead. My wife is in Vegas for the week, so my work schedule is whacked.. Going to try some mid morning to mid day after I take the kids to school.. My buddy uses one when they get tricky to call, he likes it
  2. Dang, I got mine lightly used from a family friend for 250. If i get my tractor running this spring I will probably sell it.
  3. I order on line. Yes Ihave, coyotes. Kills them dead! lol. I used to shoot hornady superformance 58gr vmax and i now use the underwood 58gr vmax. shoots even better. Its winchester brass with the hornady bullet. Very clean rounds too.. Out of the 243
  4. I have one and it does well with weight and make sharp circle the direction the teeth will cut. But you then put much added stress on the bearings. Mine is still holding up fine. but I rarely till much anymore. Mostly all no till methods now. Everyone needs to remember, you dont need to turn 6 inches of soil over. IF your disking just scratch the top surface lightly. as long as your vegetation is dead, and not re growing currently, your mighty fine. Do this and follow up with a roller if no rain is coming..
  5. definitely plant small pockets of these conifers vs a 2 acre stand. Plant them in pockets and in between the pockets plant some native grasses or let it grow hay/golden rod and dont mow it.. In between a few pockets put in a strip of a small food plot or 2 and add some fruit trees in between the pockets.
  6. I dont believe there is any sensitivity adjustment on the Brownings. I have several manuals laying around. If i remember to, Ill grab it and read through. Phade would be the man to message if you want answers to your trail cam questions.
  7. My Browning's pick up little rodents too lol. Kinda neat. Great cams
  8. Outdoor limited Underwood ammo Target sports usa able ammo I believe I like Underwood ammo.
  9. I would think so, It just controls movement. and the saddle mount itself does all the clamping. And all i used was a 1/4-20 machined screw. A friend asked about a 20ga as well, and i may tinker with the rubber padding thickness and screw size for the bigger bore guns.
  10. Thought id share... I Picked up the tripod from Goodwill a while back for ($3), and had a new fluid head mount ($31) for a video camera laying around I purchased years ago. I put the fluid head on since it was way better than what came with the tripod. Controls movement very well with tension adjustments. Then over many many many lunch breaks made a drew up some dimensions, found some scrap and machined a saddle mount for it . It hasn't been field tested yet, only kitchen tested lol. Very solid and should hold the recoil of a 22 cal with zero issues. I could hold steady on objects out of the kitchen window over 150 yards with no problems. If it gets wobbly I ll hang my bag/vest off the center height adjustment shaft to anchor it better.. I suspect it to do better in the field than on a hardwood floor. Tripod breaks down to fit perfect for sitting, kneeling or standing shooting positions. Would work good for hunting deer or turkey from ground blinds as well id imagine..
  11. Both, Night time seems to be slightly more successful as far as harvesting. But daytime sets with the right sounds, in the right places can be productive too!
  12. Heard nothing but good stuff about black hills. All hand loaded ammo from what im told.
  13. Complete Scumbags. Take the fathers license forever and the kids for 10 years. And Triple both fines or more! Twisted freaking people.
  14. I'm trying to make my first set Friday afternoon. My cell cam is showing all types of predators, day and night. Time to get the snow shoes out and hike in lol Got to catch up to my buddy. Hes taken 16 greys, 2 reds and 2 yotes so far. He has time though, and healthy kids lol.
  15. My brother loves his in 223 topped with a vortex. People think their rifles are like their Shotguns.. Where they may not be the bes ton the market, they are not bad guns. I have a deer thug in 243 for my step son. Think is a shooter, comfortable and reliable!
  16. Nice work, Keep us posted Mr! You been going out with Brad? Just topped my 22.250 with new glass and sighted it in too... 52gr Sierra GK HP Handload off the hood of the truck @ 200 The 3 "flyers" were from a box of Superformance 50gr Vmax @ 200
  17. I continue to watch all of your Coyote videos from years past, patiently waiting on this years... They never get old! Great work as always.
  18. Those first 2 pics came right from Cabelas didn't they?!! Nice jacket, too big for me, and two small for my GFIL.
  19. Nice, What bullet are you slinging Mr. Moog?
  20. Just sighted in my 6.5 bleedmoor with 95gr vmax @ just under 3300fps. Just in case I'm off a few inches lol. It might be riding shotgun this year and the 250 can sit back seat!
  21. Nice shooting, I think its a great rig, just avoid the shoulder if possible! Id think a younger yote would cripple it but a bigger animal may take it and run... I could be wrong. My grandfather won a 204 this year in TC Compass.. He will be taking it with me this winter.
  22. Athlon Optics. Unconditional unlimited warranty like Vortex with Great Customer Service. Model is Midas BTR Power 2.5-15x50 30mm Tube Just sighted it in yesterday. 1" groups @ 200 with handloads. The eye relief on this scope is unreal!
  23. a .17hmr literally brings their insides out, I could only imagine what that would do. My step son has the same gun and he drives tacks with his on a target we have setup at 167 yards.
  24. Im a HUGE fan of standing golden rod! As mentioned if food is needed, id turn "some" of it into a food source but golden rod provides cover for many critters, and usually good browse mixed in as well. I love when Golden rod is left alone and stands 4-5' tall. When the pressure is on or conditions get crappy.. Its a good place to find bedded deer.. And if it needs to be mowed to control saplings every year.. Mow it in the winter when ground has frozen and the plants fall to the ground.. Have found many antler sheds in golden rod over the years too
