  1. Nice setup sir! Like that stock! I shot my somewhat custom youth maverick 20g the other day. easily a 50-60 yrd gun.
  2. I have used bowstand a few years ago, Its basically the same as Secret Spot or hot spot however its called. It grew well.
  3. Always check seed labels if buying in person. Buying from box stores is not the best choice. I believe its illegal to sell seed not tested that same year or some sort.. Kind of one big reason why buying the cheapest seed deal is never a good idea..
  4. Here is my place... End of Seasonal Rd..
  5. I Try to keep the excess hull around 1/4" or a tad more long. I crimped with the new aluminum one this weekend and it worked quite well actually. Kinda impressed with it so far. Just need to get my hands on a new scale so i can load more, as well as a newly acquired recipe.
  6. I have one in 20ga too, it just sits in the box unopened. Lol. I just followed the recipe as it was given to me. Since it was proven and fairly high pressure. I didnt want to wander away from the process at all. But i do have a few other recipes that would work just fine in a loader. They dont require felts or anything. Not sur eif the loader would mess with the Mylar wraps at all too.. I made a new aluminum roll crimp tool yesterday, I didnt have time to test it last night, since my son was ill again. I will try the wd40 for sure. When you roll crimp, what is the desired excess hull length to roll over? the recipe calls for 1/4-3/8" remaining hull for crimp. Seems excessive to me.. like am 1/8-1/4" seems better..
  7. I dont use any lube. Was never told to use it. I think my main problem after further review, is the depth of the center boss is to high, not allowing the tool to do its job fully. IMO simple overlooked step. I have a drill press, as well as hand drill. Using the hand drill currently.
  8. Thank you sir. Much appreciated
  9. Hey All, As some of you know I Handload my own turkey shells with Tungsten shot for my 20ga. Long story short In the move to the new house I lost my BP roll crimp tool. So yesterday I went online and found some pics of some that are produced and used across the world.. But with the pictures, there wasnt any rhyme or reason for the design etc... So On my couple breaks I made 2 of my own Crimp tools based off pics and combining ideas.... both are different styles, I was just curious if anyone here could enlighten me on what one looks for when using or picking out a roll crimp tool. The one tool i made with a nice radius in the bottom began to work, but the 4 pins I pressed in across the bottom interfered, since I believe I didnt give enough "lead in" to start pushing the hull in the right direction.. before it engaged with the pins.. Tested them both out last night and they failed.. The simpler looking tool has an adjustable center boss for depth of hull to the overshot card.. Today I made one more tool identical as the one with the 4 pins except i pushed the pins in deeper into the bottom so they engage more of the radius first, to start pushing the hull the direction it needs to go... I had read that the pins(more the better) help form a better crimp easier/quicker.. Also, The original 4 pin tool, I removed the pins, deburred and will test it without the pins in to see if its not a complete waste, since the radius should have engaged earlier.. And the original simpler looking tool, I gave a radius instead of an angle back.. Since theyboth failed.. Sorry if this doesnt make sense,.. lol Kind of hard to explain. Just looking for some insight. If anyone here know and could chime in? Thanks In Advance
  10. I have one on my 870, it shot good last year. Bought a youth model 870 recently and just put a a fast fire 3, and shurshot stock on it.. Hoping to find a few minutes today to put one or 2 thru it.. I shoot handloads of Tungsten through it and it holds up just fine so far..
  11. Congrats to you sir, Your hard work will truly pay off. Give them food, water and cover and theyll love you for it. Looks good, but for a 1/4 plot.. your brassicas may get wiped out fast.. Keep the stories and pics coming!
  12. Cant wait to get on the zero turn and cut it up.. Since i taught my step son how to operate it, and actually cut a lawn to make it look good. Its a fight for who cuts the lawn. Lol.
  13. Patterned my 535 with TSS 7s .. not too bad. If i put a bit tighter constriction tube on the end it'd do much better I think. 200+ in 10" @ 40 yrds. Thats 50% of the shot .. I have to finish putting my fast fire 3 on the youth 870 and pattern that, along with my 500 youth as well .. shooting TSS 8 handloads..
  14. Same Here.. like to start a new one and fix up the old heavy producing trees
  15. Im not impressed with their products at all. I tried them a few years in a row.. years ago, with crap results. The brassica blends went to bolt in 4 weeks, and the clovers never did well, if they grew at all. It may have been partially my fault for not reading seed labels then, and buying them from a dept store that sold old seed. IMO its my poor choice, but thats as much of the seed companies fault as it is the Stores fault as well.. I will not support business that sells old seed, whether its been re tested or not.. Its bad business. Buy it fresh from the people who care about their product and customers. And will give you real advise, if you ever need it.. Ordering online?
  16. Nice pics! Wish I had time to get mine out this spring. Keep them coming lol
  17. I get Moa with it in my 7mm08 .. 1/2moa or less with my 222 and like 2moa or worse with my 22.250 Lol. MY buddy swears by it out of his 243 Tikka
  18. Seeing a few birds in my daily commute of 135 miles.. But all big hen groups it seems. Have yet to see a bird strutting. Starting to see them break up some now..
  19. Amazing Jay! It Looked to be nothing less than perfect. Im very sorry for your losses.. Glad they got to enjoy life for as long as they did.
  20. Theres a few liquids out that will, but the effects are short term, as it evaporates etc.. Where your AG, or pellet Lime takes a bit longer to work but lasts longer. And its cheaper. Not sure what numbers you have, but I have poorer soils and am pretty cheap and stingy when it comes to fertilizers and lime.. but get good results each year if Mother Nature does her part..
  21. American Whitetail, Hornady Superformance , and Deer Season XP shoot well from my cheap axis.
  22. Im never ready either, thats a fact. Lol. But it is nice to enjoy so many different things each year... well, try to enjoy anyways lol
  23. One of the few things I enjoy about this state is the fact of getting to have all 4 seasons each and every year. I love it, Just as im getting sick and tired of one season, Then next season begins. I think that is just awesome. And refreshing. Maybe ill change my mind as I age but for now, I love it. IT also makes me think of my old man A lot! We did a so much together each season, We always had things to look forward to. Reasons I hope to instill into my children as well as they grow. I think I would get sick of constant Warm weather, hobbies would probably get old after awhile.. Its nice changing things up every few months or so.. Again, As I age, Im sure my mind will change too Lol
  24. I was trying to wonder what was so weird with the picture lol, Had to read the comments. There have been a lot of small deer around lately, some smaller than what normal would seem.. I have even heard it from some friends in their travels lately. We Just need to remember that March is the hardest Month for them, Probably the month they are going to look the worst/smallest.. If a 6 month old deer (+- a month or 2) makes it, the winter must have been as harsh as some think... They are built to survive no doubt
