  1. Guess that crow won't be botherin' that hawk any more...! Great pic "G"
  2. True in the woods, but in the back yard probably not so much.. those deer are use to human scent when visiting the back yard... they are still aware of the presence of human scent, but I don't believe that is what made them aware of the stand... I'm thinking it is more like PAV said... they are keenly aware of their surroundings and any changes in it.
  3. Yeah they should probably change the term for the rustic building in the woods with no water, electricity, and an outhouse (camp) to something else... Maybe Camp Lejeune too.. not many tents there anymore... Maybe even tear down those boyscout camps that only have cabins.
  4. I don't think anything.. .kinda like doewhacker says.. I throw it out there watch the pile up... I didn't write any of it... its came from someone else... I just posted it...for me it isn't about OBAMA.. it's about our government being allowed to do such things... I probably could have left the Obama parts out.. but where is the fun in that? If I hadn't put Obama into the mix... doewhacker wouldn't have even posted..lol.. I applaude Dinsdale for actually looking up something posted and not taking the post as gospel.. can I say gospel here?? And why does hating Obama have to relate to liking Romney? I'm thinking they may have had general admission at one time for the convention and the people you saw there last night where the only ones that showed up anyway..lol
  5. I copied his name from the info he sent me..lol.. and I do believe you are correct.
  6. After today's announcement by our President to give illegal aliens quasi citizenship by fiat, I looked into the executive orders he has issued in the last three and a half years. I found this article in Western Journalism that scares the hell out of me and should frighten all of us. Get out the vote in November folks!!! This guy is dangerous... A Comprehensive List Of Obama's Worst Executive Orders JUNE 15, 2012 BY LAURIE ROTH There have been over 900 Executive Orders put forth from Obama, and he is not even through his first term yet. He is creating a martial law 'Disney Land' of control covering everything imaginable. Some of the executive orders he has signed recently have been exposed thanks to 'Friends of Conservative Action Alerts.' They have compiled a choice list of 'Emergency Powers, Martial law executive orders': Get your headache medication out while you still can without a prescription. * Executive Order 10990 allows the Government to take over all modes of transportation and control of highways and seaports. * Executive Order 10995 allows the government to seize and control the communication media. * Executive Order 10997 allows the government to take over all electrical power, gas, petroleum, fuels, and minerals. * Executive Order 11000 allows the government to mobilize civilians into work brigades under government supervision. * Executive Order 11001 allows the government to take over all health education and welfare functions. * Executive Order 11002 designates the Postmaster General to operate a national registration of all persons. * Executive Order 11003 allows the government to take over all airports and aircraft, including commercial aircraft. * Executive Order 11004 allows the Housing and Finance Authority to relocate and establish new locations for populations. * Executive Order 11005 allows the government to take over railroads, inland waterways, and public storage facilities. * Executive Order 11049 assigns emergency preparedness function to federal departments and agencies, consolidating 21 operative Executive Orders issues over a fifteen-year period. * Executive Order 11051 specifies the responsibility of the Office of Emergency Planning and gives authorization to put all Executive Orders into effect in times of increased international tensions and economic or financial crisis. * Executive Order 11310 grants authority to the Department of Justice to enforce the plans set out in Executive Orders, to institute Industrial support, to establish judicial and legislative liaison, to control all aliens, to operate penal and correctional institutions, and to advise and assist the President. * Executive Order 11921 allows the Federal Emergency Preparedness Agency to develop plans to establish control over the mechanisms of production and distribution of energy sources, wages, salaries, credit, and the flow of money in U.S. financial institutions in any undefined national emergency. It also provides that when the president declares a state of emergency, Congress cannot review the action for six months. It is more than clear that Obama is planning for the total control and takeover of America via Martial Law. Food, energy, transportation, work, banking, and health. he has it covered.
  7. wow look at the spread on that thing!
  8. Yes.. the statewide number is 57%... the number in the WMU's with the AR's 67%... another figure I thought was interesting is that the buck take in those WMU's is up 5% in recent years. Here is a beauty too... the DEC in 2010 found that although the majority of hunters support the protection of yearling bucks they also want to be able to take the buck of their choice... WHAT??
  9. You have to be smarter than that... you should know that anti's see what they want to see.. i would assume if they thought they where military police they wouldn't have any problem... because they are anti hunting not anti military police... you really have to stop the profiling!!..LOL
  10. How is the image of a hunter tarnished.. by anti hunting wackos?? You could be wearing a 3 piece suit and carrying a slingshot and they still wouldn't be happy... Davey Crocket wore a coon skin cap and buckskins at the Alamo... I'm sure he wore that hunting too.. does that make him a GI Joe Hunter? Personally I am a little more leery of the guy in the head to toe, brand new, Cabela's blaze orange suit... with the shiny new gun... that just took his hunter safety course the week before than the guy you discribed... but I still wouldn't run from him. You really have to read your own posts before you click the post button... maybe you'll realize how ridiculous you sound sometimes.. AND... YOU A TRADITIONALIST??? .. You mean the guy who constantly steps on the constitution questioning its validity in current times... the progressive thinker??? I think not!! You don't want anyone telling you what kind of buck you can shoot, but you're okay with telling someone else what kind of gun they can hunt with? Remarkable!!
  11. That "Solja" you encounter may just be ex military and that is the garb he feels comfortable in... I know tons of hunters that dress way differently than me in the woods... never judge a book by it's cover. I wear a ghillie suit when bow hunting... I look like a walking bush (not George Bush) for crying out loud... but I'm not some kind of sniper with any paramilitary group!! HMMM... I would say that you seem to be "profiling" hunters... I thought you liberal types were against that kinda stuff?
  12. Thank you for the correction... I was working on memory.. which isn't what it use to be..lol... In fairness to those that don't like those numbers... not all of those supporters had necessarily totally bought in to the AR thing, but were at least willing to give it a try.
  13. Man eating up all the habitat has had the greatest impact on all wildlife... I don't see us reversing that trend any time soon. makes any chance of natural behavior a bit harder for whitetails... especially with hunters infatuation for larger deer herds and killing yearling bucks. The refusal of many hunters to see the importance of balanced herds vs habitat has gotten us where we are today.

    ELMO

    Happy Birthday Elmo!!
  15. That isn't true... they had support from 57% of hunters canvased from those areas... most not in any group at all. Plus, nothing was based on any individuals hunters personal situation... it was based on the amount of yearlings being harvest in those areas each year and a consensus by the hunters to give AR's a try..
  16. Since when do you have to have something to do with what you're proud of??... I was proud of how hard my father worked hard to give my family a good life.. I didn't have any control over that... but I can still be proud of him. One can also be proud of his heritage even though it would have been impossible to be there... thats why they call it heritage... and you can have something to do with your heritage.. you can pass it on... and chest beating is good for scaring away all the wimpy gorilla's!
  17. It's just a guess whether armed citizens would help or not in any situation before it unfolds... easy to say they wouldn't after the fact... if somebody draws a gun and I'm in the area I would like having the options of shooting back if needed... others should have the right to the same opportunity... regardless of the outcome... which probably won't be good either way... but much better than standing there defenseless...
  18. He didn't win because it wasn't a contest... that was just the score this year of the biggest buck taken with gun scored by the NYSBBC... last year it was 180. Minimum to make the book in NY is 140... there are usually only a few bucks a year that make B&C in NY.
  19. You are assuming that I want AR's for bigger bucks.. you couldn't be farther from the truth... it's just that your argument against them is a weak one if it's just so your dad has a better chance of killing a deer.. you should be lobbying for more DMP's if thats the case... if you understand how AR's increase the amount of older bucks in the herd.. you'd know that your dad will soon have a much better chance of taking a mature buck as the program progresses... I would count my dad lucky if he could even get out to hunt.
  20. Not true... it was thought out for many years and proposed by more than a small group and the group is growing.
