  1. I'd like to see the other bruiser that's bustin' up this bad boys antlers!
  2. Great pics as always Dave.. My brother took some pics of the owls at Handcock airport... he has one of a snowy owl sitting on the tail wing of one of the planes... He also has the same camera setup as you..
  3. It isn't about whether I like it or not that's the way it is... but yes I agree that if someone working for me was doing something or saying something off the clock on a regular basis that threatened my business.. they would be fired. I would not however fire someone that was asked a question and answered the question based on their truthful opinion.. even though I have every right to do so.. just not my style. I like when some has the conviction to say what he feels when asked... I don't always like when someone offers up their opinion when not asked for it.
  4. You can't be talking about head shots with a bow... anyone who believes they are proficient at head shot archery kills is delusional as well as unethical... there is no such thing... you may be proficient at hitting the head, but chances of recovering a dead deer would be slim.. kind of like saying a hoof shot would be a good shot just because you can hit the hoof. If you're talking about a gun shot that would be different... but the OP was about an archery head shot ONLY!
  5. You are exactly right...the 1st amendment only protects from government retribution. It does not protect anyone from the private right not to like what someone is saying.. a business being a private entity has the right to get rid of you for any reason they want unless it infringes on your civil rights
  6. I'm not offended by a gun shot to the head... especially if its the only shot offered.. the biggest buck I ever shot I had to shoot just behind the jaw where it met the neck... it was a 30 yards shot and was the only shot I had as the buck lay bedded behind a blow down and some saplings... he never so much as twitched after his head hit the ground.. never even moving his body from his laying down position.. the shot was quite affective.
  7. Never.. I know guys that will take a neck shot as well with bow... I feel that is just as unethical... we all know that even a good vital area shot in the lungs can sometimes still result in a long search... just not worth the risk of losing a deer or wounding one only to have it die days or weeks later. The idea is to harvest the deer not just put an arrow in the deer, never to see it again.
  8. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black... then our friend Charlie tries to backpedal away from the statement by saying he meant to say something else... Phil isn't back pedaling at all http://www.banderasnews.com/1301/ent-charliesheenopensbarinmexico.htm
  9. If Charlie Sheen came out against him... don't have to re-think anything I'm sure I'm on the right side.
  10. A buck will breed regardless of the pressure if there is a receptive doe... the problem is actually with the increased pressure on the doe population which could keeps the does from traveling as much.. if she doesn't travel, he doesn't travel.. a bucks instinct to breed far out weighs his fear of man... a does instinct to breed does not.
  11. I can do one in 2 minutes too.. just nothing left to eat when I'm done..
  12. I'm sure there are many here that share your sentiment...
  13. Life, not just work, is what you make it, I work hard.. but also like my free time.. so I know I'm not destined to be a millionaire.. I'm okay with that... I live modestly and within my means... I work hard to play hard... not to buy a Mercedes... simple is just fine for me.. I like being rich in other ways... I work hard because I like being proud of what I do... any short comings I have are my own doing.. I feel no sense of entitlement... society owes me nothing.
  14. Maybe if it had eyes on its butt... ?
  15. My 3 role models would be mom, dad and definitely Bugs Bunny!!
  16. Great examples Larry... hard work always leads to better living... what some consider hard work is just showing up 40 hours a week and getting a paycheck.. expecting that just being a warm body in the workplace deserves promotions and high raises... people that do well in this economy always do well... while the warm body with limited ambition finds himself struggling and looking for a handout from the hard workers thinking that the gravy train should continue despite his lack of desire to better himself by putting in any effort... that sense of entitlement some have thinking they should have equal pay and upward mobility because they showed up... we all have worked with them and know they exist in large numbers... those who deny it usually are those individuals we're talking about.
  17. So the rich guy should pay the guy that quit school when he was 16 taking your order at Mc Donalds $15.00 an hour? Or the 15 year old kid that fills your popcorn bag at the movies $15 bucks an hour.. that not only is bad business it is insane... usually the ones with of that opinion never ran or owned a business in their life... the 30-50 year old man or woman filling your popcorn bag at the movies really made some bad decisions along the way to be in a position where that is the only job they can get... that can't be blame on rich people welfare is a good idea.. if you make the person getting the people's money do something that benefits the people... if we're going to help them out they could at least give back some service to those that are helping to feed, cloth and house their family...
  18. This is way better than a reality show... just like a nasty train wreck you can't take your eyes off.. lol ... NJ Shores, The Kardashians, and Housewives of New York all rolled into one!! Who wants to be Snooky???
  19. I do too... but don't put on near the miles as I do deer hunting... its just deer hunting that I have had enough of.. I guessing you are a younger man than I and still are full of the piss and vinegar which I have much less of these days
  20. He never said anything about hating anyone.. in fact, if you heard him speak he said just the opposite. Just because you don't agree with someone's lifestyle doesn't mean you hate... that notion has been perpetuated by liberal America that like using it as a means of diminishing opinions they don't agree with because if they allowed common sense to prevail they couldn't pass on their agenda to the uninformed as easily... so they developed the label "hater" to divert attention away from the real content of what is really being said.
  21. You could be right early morning or late evening... but during the middle of the day I bet its the sound of the machines
  22. I have to laugh at how this forum and some of the threads resemble every reality show I've ever seen... and its funny to hear how many of the participants hate those shows.. any outsider reading this thread alone would experience the same train wreck they can't take their eyes of on the boob tube...lol ... maybe that's why I enjoy this forum so much! As for the suspension I bet I feel the same way Phil feels.. couldn't care less.
  23. It happens a lot too during harvest time on farms with a bunch of different animals and the sound of the farm machines.. corn picker, tractor noises etc... farmers sometimes watch the animals come in waiting to eat the stuff that hits the ground and doesn't make it into the truck and back to the barn.
  24. I use to think I'd like hunting that late years ago when I had less time in the woods.. now by the last day of late muzzleloader I'm spent, lost 20 lbs and have had about enough.
