    Tuesday was the first time I saw a buck chasing a doe. I've been in the woods the last 9 days 5 days were all day sits. Saw a lot of does just not many bucks.

    I was in my stand at 5:50 and didn't hear any shoots from my area all day. That's real sad being I hunt in Madison county and usually after 6 it sounds like a war going on. I hope this means people have learned not to shoot at movement and not that no one was seeing any deer.

    So the first year of Sat opener I worked Friday. Ever since that day I take the Friday off. I got the vacation so I use it wisely Plus I figure by it starting on Sat we gained two more days for gun season.

    getting ready to head out. I had family time this morning. Saw to real nice bucks out walking by the thruway last night just before dark. Hope to see some action today.

    I saw two fawns. real quite heading out. Everything was wet from rain. getting brunch then heading back out. My son saw one doe and a button buck.

    I was sitting in a friends stand yesterday and his string broke with my bow hanging on it. Mine only fell 2 feet. First thing I did was check the cams for damage etc. Clean all the leafs and junk off. I'm heading out to my stand in a few mins and I will stop at my uncles to shoot it just to be sure. If cams look fine and string is set in right pace you should be ok just shoot it and make sure sight isn't off.

    (Update 10/26) Meanwhile, a few buck photos have come in that stir up a little mystery, such as the photo at the left. Rumor had that it was taken near Raquette Lake, but as it turned out it was just a prank (and a good one). Nice set of antlers though! Never underestimate the power of the Internet when it comes to these things.
