  1. You did realize that was tongue-in-cheek right? Just checkin'.
  2. "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."
  3. There's no 'M' in SANDWICH. It's not SAMWICH. Like fingernails on a chalkboard.
  4. Not my first choice but better than a stick. Probably would try to avoid using them in the house or anywhere else that penetration could be an issue.
  5. Is that a Pop-tart he's holding? Those things can be deadly when chewed into the right shape you know.
  6. Bolnde? Blue eyes? Tan lines? Yeahhh, I don't know but I'll take two of whatever it is.
  7. Yeah well your deer are YOUR DEER. Sorry, I just couldn't resist. Maybe it'll give us something different to fight about for awhile.
  8. I am working on one that's to the effect of "I was planning to buy my 3 year old son a Lifetime License but thanks to you I took the money I was going to spend on it and bought him a Life membership in the NRA instead."
  9. NYS is supposed to be setting up an internal background check and database for ammo purchases.
  10. Ironically in Europe where they have crazy strict gun laws I've read that they encourage the use of suppressors for hunting to cut down on "noise pollution".
  11. Just using the full-auto thing as an example because you can't own them here. Do you remember the case a few years back where the ATF was trying to classify a shoestring or some such thing as some sort of full-auto conversion? I'll see if I can find it.
  12. Want to make sure there's not a provision saying that possessing all the parts still counts even if they're not assembled though. If you own a semi-auto of anything and possess the parts to convert it to full auto it still counts as an unregistered full-auto even if not assembled.
  13. Wouldn't think so but who knows, maybe that's all he could afford. It happened like 50 years ago.
  14. The only thing I've noticed is it loads faster and now I can use the back button to back up. Before I had to click on the headers every time to start over, so it's running better for me than it has in a long time.
  15. I think it's Zillow will show you approximate property lines when you zoom in enough. That helps because sometimes those tax maps can get a little confusing because there's no relief to them.
  16. Was it even a real handgun? A guy my dad went to school with went into a gunshop and bought a shotgun and 1 shell, went out in the car and shot himself. Not sure what the dealer expected to happen when the guy only wanted 1 shell but I knew the dealer for quite awhile before he went out and I absolutely believe he'd sell someone a single round. He was a little weird himself.
  17. Maybe you don't, but the way you phrase things sometimes makes it sound like you do.
  18. Where do we find that then because on the SAFE FAQ page under "Assault Weapons" it reads: "Q: What do I do if I don't want to register my assault weapon? A: You can sell it to a New York State dealer or anyone out of state by January 15, 2014. Federal law has certain restrictions on shipping guns between states that you should consult before making a transfer." http://www.governor.ny.gov/2013/gun-reforms-faq
  19. They way I understand it is that you can remove the "scary features" on anything except "Any AR-15 variant" and "Any AK-47 variant" because they are specifically named. That may not be correct though.
  20. I don't think so, because the law specifically names the AR-15. http://www.governor.ny.gov/assets/documents/RiflesthatAREclassifiedasassaultweapons.pdf "Any AR‐15 variant designed to fire ammunition in any caliber manufactured by the firms listed below: "
  21. China is buying everything. Does that mean we should just lie down in the dark and die? We need to get the power somewhere but everyone succumbs to NIMBY. Unless we are willing to give up the internal combustion engine and go back to doing all of our heating with wood we are going to need oil, gas and coal. Wind and solar are nice but don't have the capacity or reliability to support large scale development, hydro is great except the fish-huggers fight the dams and everyone quakes in their boots at the mere mention of nuclear power. The Canuks were willing to sell us their petroleum products until our President blocked the pipeline so they decided to sell it to the Chicoms instead.
  22. Nope, doesn't benefit anyone but landowners, no one uses natural gas but the people who have the wells on their land. (sarcasm)
