  1. doesnt make any sense that because we have deer farms in new york that stores should be allowed to sell it. i doubt any deer farmer even uses whats sold in stores, guarantee its a home blend of feed. if so why would anyone even waste the money on bait, youd have to be about as bright as the lady who wants to move the deer crossing signs to buy bait to use on farmed deer.
  2. lol i posted the audio of the woman on the radio about the deer crossing signs last week. im embarrassed for the human race that we walk the earth with these kinds of people.
  3. i was behind a guy in line at gander he was getting his hunting license and had a cart full of acorn rage stuff, i asked him where he planned to use it if he was going out of state or something he said no he puts it under his stand and rakes it into the ground under the leaves, twigs and dirt so it doesnt look suspicious to anyone who might come walking through..... i didnt say anything in response, i held it in, nothing good would have come out of it.
  4. rte 26 doesnt run through that county. its actually county road 26 and/or meads creek rd.
  5. the wooly bears!!!! the more brown on a wooly bear the more severe a winter. i can tell what the weather is going to be if i rub my nipples....
  6. lol they arent called a dodge for nothing... you want to "dodge" buying one if you can.
  7. lol i dont even know what heavy socks are. i wear just plain ole ankle socks the whole season, but of course i am a very warm blooded person. my boots however is what i rely on for the warmth they are 1600gr. ive found layering socks or having a snugly fit boot just makes me overheat way to easy on the walk in and makes it extremely cold after an hr, so i buy my boots a half size bigger to allow some air flow and wear my regular socks. dont want to constrict bloodflow, thats how you stay warm.
  8. hunting cornfields and the golden rod/brushy fields is a good time to hunt in the high winds for me. have yet to come across a deer bedded in the corn though. hope my luck will change
  9. definitely sounds like the NY I know!!! gets my blood boiling.
  10. that climber you built is sick!! is that all welded aluminum?
  11. Ive seen this scenario before dont doubt at all it could happen again. Friend of mine made a very steep shot like geno and was shooting fixed blades and one blade was enough to cut through a seam in the ribs knick a lung and kill a deer. We were baffled his broadhead was clean no blood just fur, but we had a blood trail. Found the deer a few hundred yards away. The deer had about a 5 inch gash and when we were butchering it we could see where the blade sliced through a seam in the ribs... call it a lucky shot.
  12. Just had a doe and her fawn 15-20 ft infront of me mowing down the chicory. Showed up a lot earlier than expected it was 5:15. The fawn started sneezin his head off it was quite funny.
  13. Im all for it, living in the US is all about making choices and is also what drives a free market economy, competition is needed to provide the best service. Government controling my healthcare just does not sit well with me. Why my ancestors immigrated here in the first place was to have a choice in matters.
  14. Had some snow flurries a few minutes ago, winds pretty steady, making the woods pretty noisy wonder if ill see something, definitely wont hear them.
  15. A guy i used to work for had seen a deer during bow and was also informed by the shooter that a buck had been shot with an aluminum arrow in the neck, had to be very special circumstances for this to happen. But the arrow stayed lodged in the neck, after it deflected off a tree. the buck made it through the rest of bow and the first week of gun season until my boss shot it. But it was crazy to see the pics and how it healed around the broken arrow. He said the deer had limited mobility but appeared perfectly healthy otherwise.
  16. exactly what i was thinking i didnt want to be the first to say it lol
  17. he never said anything about closing his doors and walking away.... he said everything about downsizing and cutting back. and your way of thinking is very hard to understand.... first off if it wasnt for him that business wouldnt exist, everyone who takes stock in his business as an employee or outside supplier or anything else youd like to throw in there, wouldnt have a job or a contract or way to make money if it wasnt for him, so why shouldnt he get rich?? wasnt it his brainchild, his idea, and his way of doing business in the first place? is he not allowed to be rewarded for such an accomplishment, for working hard, for being successful and making others successful as well? should there be no incentive for people to succeed. the way i interpret your post is that everyone from top to bottom should be making the same buck at the end of the week. wheres the incentive? and if youd like to keep on with the argument that he owes his employees everything, i could fire right back and say yea your right... exactly why he sent that letter to all his employees in the first place!!!!
  18. try reading it again and dont twist what i said into something else.
  19. HAHAHAHA. thats the most ridiculous thing ive heard. you've got the same number of bowhunters give or take as any other year, with the same tags or same opportunities for tags as any other year, but with 2 extra weeks to fill those tags. its not like we were issued more tags to make up for the extra two weeks!!!! how does that constitute a less than desirable effect on gun hunters????
  20. so basically what i gather about obama, is he wants to appoint committees to tell me what, where, when, and how much im going to receive in medical attention, and let me float by if i choose to on another persons penny (mr. siegel) and join the rest of the 47% of americans WHO SIT ON THERE DAMN ASSES albeit 12% of those have earned it (retired) and run this country into the ground and give give give... its like a baby and its pacifier. but about the email...... why not take the LOGICAL BUSINESS APPROACH, tax cuts and benefits for small business, allows more money to be put back into the business equals growth equals more employees equals jobs equals MORE PEOPLE PAYING TAXES. heaven for bid you have to EARN a living and not have it GIVEN to you. its simple economics on a much larger scale.... say you have an item, you have 100 of those items, so does the guy up the street. the guy up the street sells the item for $10. supply and demand baby.... in order to maximize profits you need to sell all 100 of that item for the highest price possible as quickly as possible. the guy up the street is only selling a few, you advertise yours for $7. whose gonna sell more and make more money?? the same thing can be applied to how both parties handle taxes. obama is going to tax the crap out of small business making business more expensive and unattractive ($10 price of the item), romney is going to make it more attractive ($7 price of the item). obama isnt going to create jobs ($10 item has less demand, wont sell) romney is going to create jobs ($7 item has greater demand, will sell). obama isnt going to get the amount of taxes he needs to support the 47%, romney is going to get the taxes he needs to support the 47% and decrease IT, and the unemployment rate at the same time. and therein lies the solution.... more people paying taxes (# of product sold)
