Did they ever find that man that went missing in Thacher Park?
DirtTime replied to DirtTime's topic in General Chit Chat
That's what I'm starting to wonder. I hope not, and my thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. I hope they get closure. -
How far would you be if someone breaks into your home with intent? That's close encounters, and I'm not talking ET. .410 slug is comparable to many hand gun rounds at close range. Anyway, sleek shotgun that Omni is!

I don't play Halo, so that's not for me.

My post wasn't aimed at you Rob. Just frustration from the left on what constitutes an AR. The big issue I would see with a shorter barrel ( looks aside ) would be functionality. "The good ole boys who carry sawed off shotguns" don't get much range from a 12. Making the barrel shorter on a .410 would really restrict range and scatter the pattern a lot.

Are they still searching? You do deer search grampy, did they get you or deer search in to help ( that is not a jab! just a simple question )? You hear about this a lot in the big woods, people get lost, but Thacher? -
I am not sure about "cutting" the barrel. I would see no need to at only 18.5" from the offset, it's not a rifle, and 18" for a turkey shotgun seems to be one of the top lengths, so as I said, I would not make it any shorter. I am not going to guess though on if it can be done, I would call the manufacturer. Also, I want to address the term "AR" in what is the modern day lingo. These days AR seems to mean "Assault Rifle". But the real meaning of AR stems from a specific company. Armalite. AR stems from the company and that it was a rifle. Armalite Rifle. AR. Get it? ( At least that's the history I find about using the AR as slang for sporting rifles. ) This is a "Sporting Shotgun".

Betting with slugs this would even be a solid home defense weapon. The only thing the fiancée asked was two questions, 1) is the ammo easy to get | 2) how bad is the recoil on a .410? Ammo is easy to get, not much recoil to a .410 at all. Sounds like a green light to me! Now to come up with the $1000 to get the gun, a decent red dot, and lots of ammo! I'll post a review in a few years after the roof's paid off.

Like others have stated, alternate cold and heat. Also, this might sound odd, but try not to twist. Use your feet to rotate your hips. Hope you get better fast. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk

Well, like I said think about it for a minute. Look at some of the folks on the far right. Sorry, I don't think many are too stable. Anyone who thinks Alex Jones is a demigod is not right in the head. If Jones lost all his "Male Enhancement" sponsors he would just be another wack job keyboard pugilist. Sorry if you don't agree with what I have to say, but the facts are, more snooping into the history of a person trying to by a gun isn't going to help stop these mass shootings, gun laws aren't the answer. When LEO have a way to stop this crap before it happens and they don't makes me sick to my stomach. The same way they have had terrorists in custody, let them go, only to feel the aftermath. Look at the situation for what it is.

I would love to hunt tree rats and bunnies with that shotgun. I would even pin the mag to keep the grip.

Background checks for voters? Haaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahah! Liberals would win every election! Think about that one for a minute! Not on board for that at all!

I agree with this, but if by "the clown in Albany" you mean Cuomo, he doesn't live there. He lives downstate and passes his bills in the back room of an illegal brothel. Please get that right. The more laws they pass it seems the worse things get! I am a very strong supporter of Constitutional Carry. I have stated though, that I see no reason for any civilian to be allowed to posses a fully automatic firearm, and I feel to carry a concealed pistol should require some serious BG checks, and yes, a permit. This has been a very slippery slope for a couple decades now. You can't cure stupid, so stupid people will do stupid things with guns no matter what laws they have to break. That dick in FL had a record for having issues, nothing was done to stop him. He could have just as easily made bombs which there is no BG check to buy the crap needed to make those. Ban the 'scary looking guns" is what the anti's wants to start off with, then they will get bolder. Laws are most likely coming, and in all honesty, there's not one damn thing we can do about it if/when they do.

Omnibus bill…not a Budget
DirtTime replied to fasteddie's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
From what I watched on FOX news yesterday and this morning, what you stated is spot on eddie! From most peoples thoughts he did it to get more increases to get our military much needed funds, and in the end have the upper hand. -
I remember reading that Buckmaster7600 and wooly like to stay out in the woods while hunting or for wooly taking pics. Just curious what you do for shelter if anything? Just sit against a tree? Curl up on the ground? Tarp/poncho shelter, tent or hammock? Fire? Food? Wool blanket?

The only place that comes to mind where you can ride trails legally up that way is Newton Falls. They have trails, camping, and hold a rally annually. It's still a bit of a trek for you though. I have never been up there, but have friends that love the area. Might be worth checking out if you are so inclined. NY is a PITA about ATV's on public land. -
Fiancee wanted homemade fries, so fired up the fryer and made her fries and some fried chicken. Steamed carrots not in the pic. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk
