What is it you want people to do? The NRA clearly can't battle the political battle of guns used in violent crimes, or stop the assault on 2A. We have kids stating they want guns banned ( which is a heart string tug and tear jerk way to get people on board ). So please, once and for all, tell us what you think should be done to stop any of this madness.

Seeing no one else went and looked it up, here's one of the links to the school shooting at Marshall County High School. It was a 15 year old kid with a hand gun. NO so called "assault rifle" involved! No drugs either! https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/one-dead-after-shooting-kentucky-high-school-multiple-victims-reported-n840171

If Bigfoot was real would you shoot/ hunt it ?
DirtTime replied to Hunter007's topic in General Chit Chat
If I had to fight a bigfoot for my homemade jerky I would hunt it, shoot it, and make some "special jerky". My name isn't Jack and I don't share my jerky! -
Took a bit to locate this thread after the title change. Here's one for ya'll, and even has the cops being morally stupid! WTF IS wrong with people! http://wnyt.com/news/coeymans-police-video-running-raccoon-over-albany-county/4822812/ C'mon! There had to be a more humane way to get rid of the raccoon! Disgusting!

Question for mowin. Your profile says you are from New Lebanon. Is that up to date? You sure drive a long way to visit the F&S in Latham.

Woods! In the NZ! Thousands of acres to hunt, and tons of streams and lakes to fish in many areas.

I think this depends on a few factors. Private land where you can clear shooting lanes, or public land where you cannot. Tree stand, hub-popup blind on the ground, man made blind, or just kneeling in some brush. All of these situations carry a variant on when to draw and how long you have to hold it. I hunt from the ground and mainly public land that's rarely wide open. So I have to set up for natural shooting lanes. Which means, maybe having to hold my draw longer then my arms and shoulders want me too. Even with todays high let offs, holding your arms up for a long period of time can get to be a strain. I don't shoot traditional bow, but from what I have read that's a pure science on when to draw, and release.

Called F&S in Latham this morning talked to a guy named Mike, said they have plenty of .223 ammo. Then I called the Dicks in Crossgates Mall and asked a guy named Bob the same question, he said they have a lot of different .223 ammo. Both stores stated having the "small boxes" ( 20 rounds ), and the "big boxes". Now, being realistic, one would think the Crossgates Dicks would be first in line to not sell specific ammo, it's a mall store! Not to add to facts, but, they also had a shooting scare in that mall about a year ago. As for the 21 years old to buy certain rifles, already what, two maybe three threads on that. The OP was referring to certain stores not carrying ammo or clothing. So, I have no comment about that on this thread.

I was just thinking about the size myself. Just came to me. To fit a wood stove, and room for two people to sleep, guessing folding cots, as permanent bunks would get in the way. So, by logic, at least 8' x 12', 8x14 would be better. Sounds more like a small cabin then a "blind". I know you may already know this zag, but if going with the wood stove make sure you get everything completed well before deer season, and don't forget you have to season that wood stove.

Here's a third option, and you don't have to worry about the CM levels. Kerosene heaters. Pretty efficient, and the fuel isn't horribly expensive.

So, am I to understand that some people made calls to the F/S in Latham and were informed that they had plenty of .223 ammo, while the OP says they have stopped selling it? Looks like I'll be making a couple calls in the AM.

3/10/18 and some still holding onto their antlers

Dandy buck right there! He'll be even nicer next season. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk -
I would go the Buddy Heater as well. For one simple reason, when hunting you need to get as much rest as possible, and feeding a wood stove for heat can get nerve racking. Better to be warm and cozy all night then have to get up to feed the fire. JMO.

That's a good point.

Washed down a grilled sammich with this. I used to dislike Yuengling, but over the past few years I have come to reall like this lager. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk

So people posting about fried bologna and grilled cheese got me hungry again. So I made a grilled jalapeno bologna and sharp cheddar sammich, with some chili cheese Fritos on the side. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk

That's a nice group! Plenty good enough for lung shots. You should get used to shooting in chilly temps. Not every day in the bow season will be in the 70's. Once the season gets closer shoot with your hunting clothes on. One, to make sure the string doesn't catch on any clothing, arm guards help on sleeves, but of the coat/jacket is loose you can catch on the zipper flap. Two, the added weight of the clothes can mess with form. So take some time to shoot with your hunting clothes/gear on. If you hunt from a tree stand make sure to get some practice in shooting from elevation. You seem to be on the right path, and if the deer walks into your range, it's a dead dear.

Agree here. Got a couple bad storms inside a week, and possible third on the way. But due to to the higher then normal temps the ground has not re-frozen, so the snow is meting fast.

After clearing our parking area and the elderly man next doors parking are, I came in and popped The Green Inferno ( sort of a remake of Cannibal Holocaust ) into the DVD player. Good movie, but not for kids.

Ted Nugent proves .......
DirtTime replied to fasteddie's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I wanted to let this one go. But, I can't. That video is a double edged knife! While most of us get what Ted was stating, the left will take it differently and spin it, WAY off axis! When using social media, especially video, you best make sure your meaning is spot on, not loose enough for the left and the anti-gun movement to gain ground. I love the the way the Nug is straight forward and tells it like it is. But, after looking at Alex Jones channel, it looks like Teddy has aligned himself with a DB! Alex Jones is a blow hard, he's a media whore! Aren't his biggest sponsors for male "enhancement"? That should say something right there! If you have something real to say, you shouldn't need anyone paying the bill for your site channel! Alex spouts off from his soap box about so many "End Of Days" issues and conspiracy theories is laughable! He doesn't offer any ways to be self reliant if crap goes bad, doubt he's ever spent a night in a tent. Seriously doubt he could spend a weekend in the backwoods without his camera crew. -
Will run the fried egg past the finacee, she's only likes scrambled eggs mainly. I put hot sauce on most everything except steak, ribs, and fish. Usually something with a bit more heat then Franks, but lately, the old Acid Reflux med isn't doing it's job, so it's been Franks.
