Better off waiting over all. We all know what Bill did with what the stupid though were "assault rifles", his wife is no different, actually, she is far worse. No sense spending money on something that has a solid 60% change of being taken away.

Wait until you try to load or unload a mag via the upper. It's a PITA! You won't be a happy camper. Good luck with the build. Thank Cuomo and the Clintons for your pain.

Thorsden stock was deemed illegal by the NYSP last year. Unless is has a fixed mag and has to be loaded via the upper. If I remember right. The rules and laws on this are sketchy, best to make a phone call to local SP.

Never had horse meat. How was it?

There is no way the kindle or any device could be that bad at spell checking. You sure that thing has an English dictionary checker installed? LMAO! -

Hillary is like herpes, no matter what you do, it will never go away. -
Damnit! 'Like' this too!

Sure does have to do with beer! Only a drunk squirrel would show up to a GB game. He's the new age of a "streaker".

Squirrel just ran across the field in the GB game. LMAO!

What type of .30-06 ammunition to use for deer hunting?
DirtTime replied to mossy725's topic in Rifle and Gun Hunting
I am not trying to argue, but I do not agree with this at all. If more people paid attention to accuracy, from guns and bows, I think there would be a lot less lost deer. Again, JMO, and I am done about accuracy, as it doesn't matter to some. But, to the original topic, just shoot what you want. -
Out of likes for the day, but that's awesome! "Like". The g/f made a round roast ( beef ), baked potato slices, and as a veggie steamed mixed. Sorry, no pic of the veggies, like you animals really care to see them anyway.

Listening to football, munching on some fresh made hot wings, looking at satellite maps for hunting, and enjoying cold lager from AMERICA's oldest brewing company.

Looks great! Why didn't you wait until tomorrow to smoke 'em and eat them while watching the Bills game?
-
That's awesome Biz. It's cool to donate the meat as people who need it get some food, but keeping it and eating it, especially first buck from your own land it will take all the better! Heads up folks! Biz will be asking for recipes!!!!

The snow, especially a good coating reflects the light back up. Full moon, good 6" of snow, pretty bright in hardwoods or in field. Heavier pines or fir trees.........Not so much.

That's the place we used to prop the drunk guy in when I used to hit the bars.

DirtTime replied to mossy725's topic in Rifle and Gun Hunting
Valid point. Nothing wrong with 1 1/2" groups, even 3". I still stick with you have to shoot the ammo your rifle likes to shoot. IMO, 8" all over the place groups are not being very ethical to the deer. Best shot placement comes from better groups. Like i said, JMO. -

You have to use what your rifle likes and shoots well, doesn't matter what brand. 10 shots all over the place on a paper plate isn't OK. Shoot the ammo that gets you the best groups from your rifle. -
Congrats Biz! Nice buck and nice that he didn't go far.

I agree. I have let a couple momma's with little one pass early this bow season. Just can't bring myself to take that shot either. A lone doe strolling by in range, will go to the processor, even though she may have a fawn out of sight. If you worry about them having fawns that you do not see, then there's no point in getting a DMP to kill a doe. It's a fine line to walk. I will say, my time with the bow is getting more limited now, and as much as I don't want to be a home wrecker, I have spent too much time tuning my bow ( most of which was in my frikin' house ), sitting in the woods, letting some of the few deer I have seen pass, to keep looking at a freezer with no deer meat in it much longer. I have a heart as well, but I have a stomach, a bow, and a freezer that want a tag filled.

Many people on here have hunted the same land for years, be it public or private. After some time, you get to know the land pretty well, and know where deer will ( should ) be. The first thing I do for new land is a map search and look for water, and possible bedding areas. Food sources can be varied, hunting near farm land will be noticeable from the maps, nuts and foliage will not be so visible unless you are in there. Then it's time to hit the woods on foot. Looking for old rubs and trails that get used a lot. Deer can be crazy and unpredictable, while being habitual at the same time. The frustration of their love to do what we don't expect is what keeps many of us going back. I agree with a good snow, my top reason for that is the deer stand out more against the landscape. The other best reasons have already been mentioned. Tracking wounded deer in snow beats doing it on leaves.
