Congrats Buckmaster7600. -
Perfectly said! Hunt with your dad Biz.

Or he might stroll on over and say "Heeeyyyy!".

Great buck nodeerhere, congrats! -
Thank you phil. No babysitting duties, no kids here.
-
I would too, just not me doing it. LOL
-
Public land. Can't see me trying to haul two office chairs into the woods in the dark with the rest of my gear. LOL
-
Not with a deer rifle! Not even a .223. I was tempted a few times to shut squirrels and chipmunks up last year with the 7mm-08, but, knew I wouldn't have any meat left to make the cost of the bullet worth it.

We have some camp chairs, but her first trip ( or two ) out I want to sit with her in the blind. She's brand new to hunting so I am teaching her as such. If she actually enjoys it, I will get a couple camo camp chairs with no arms.
-
Oh, I told her this year is a free pass. Next year if she stays with it, I will drag the deer, but she will be gutting her own. It's a right of passage.

My plan A went out the window. Plan was to have the g/f on private land up in the NZ. Plan B, is to hunt a swamp where she picked out the spot for a morning hunt. Plan C is I will hunt the evening solo on a ridge where the dang deer keep staying just out of bow range, the deer rifle might ( and I hope ) mess with the regularly scheduled "Stay just out of bow range and giggle at Rob.".

White rice cooked with thyme-rosemary-sea salt- basil-hot modras curry, haddock baked with garlic-chives-parsley-paprika-thyme, and left over steamed peas.

Picked her up some gloves (wrong size of course), a pink handled knife, some hand warmers, some Tinks 69 ( I don't use it, but I want to get her the best chance at a deer ), and a few other things not in the pic. Have to pick up a couple 5 gallon pails from Lowes to fit us both in the blind for the first couple trips, but other then that she's got everything she needs. Will treat her hunting clothes with Sawyers after I get a bow hunt in for the morning. From Saturday on, it's all about getting her a deer in the few days she gets to hunt. Tag soup for me won't be so bitter if she fills her tags.

I have always liked knowing where my guns hit. Even with fixed sights like a bead. It was also instilled in me to do so. With a fixed sight you need to know if you are shooting a inch left or right and how high or low at intended distances. You cannot just hit the woods and think it will hit where you aim. Also, after re-reading your post moog: The guys even more of a moron then I first thought. He bought a scope and says deer have been killed with a bead for years. Yeah, where does this guy hunt again? I have no plans to ever go back to WNY, but, I never say never, and do not want to be anywhere near this fool.

Did he look like this guy?
-
No MZ. Nothing wrong with them, just not for me. I have my bow for the early and late seasons.
-
Is there really such thing as a brush caliber?
DirtTime replied to 10point's topic in Rifle and Gun Hunting
Why would you shoot through brush? I was taught to only shoot at a clear and present target. To each their own I guess. -
This!

I will be staying under 65yds. Yes, just a front bead. I wouldn't even be using the 12ga if one area wasn't no rifle, don't want to loose out on land just because I can't use my deer rifles. So, it's back to old school for a few hunts.
-
Why not just use a gun and done? Doesn't matter if you use a x-bow or gun, you still have to use the regular buck tag or a DMP. Just seems like unnecessary gear to me. But, it's your dance Biz, tear it up cowpoke. LOL
-
This is a great point. It really doesn't matter to me either way, but I like the extra two days.
-
Nice doe, congrats Grizz.

During the regular gun season I believe you can, I just peeked and can't find anything saying otherwise. Both are legal weapons during the regular season. But why would you want to? Just curious.
