  1. No one is scolding or being nasty. Everyone makes mistakes. Hunting is a learning process. Any weapon with limbs needs special attention to detail, especially clearance. You learned and will move on. I would check the limbs over just be sure there are no cracks.
  2. I have to agree with Biz here. It was a mistake, but you have to be wired tight when shooting a bow of any sort.
  3. I been saying that same damn thing for close to a year. It's domestic terrorism. People can try and cover it up, but but unless you live in a cardboard box you know exactly what's going on. Said this as well in a few posts lately. You can try and put any frosting on it you want, it's still a cake. The thing thats really starting to p8$$ me off is that in this day and age it's easier to post what other people think then it is to say how you feel. It's not actually your words if you just paste what someone else already said. That's what the dems do.
  4. I like me a bacon sandwich on toast as well. Not sure I would eat three, but have at it moog . LOL With the exception of the Labatt's, Pygmy just one upped us all for the day.
  5. Guess I am the only one eating dinner tonight. Cavatappi in our homemade sauce, hot Italian sausage, onions, and portabella mushrooms. And, wait for it... Garlic parmesan bread made form leftover hamburger rolls.
  6. Some of us have already offered to buy his tickets, and help him pack.
  7. Happy birthday and congrats on the doe!
  8. Just heard about this, there was a "shooter" in Crossgates mall, so far they say no one was injured. http://news10.com/2016/11/12/breaking-active-shooters-in-crossgates-mall/
  9. I have to get some more Sawyers and spray the g/f's gear down, and treat second pop-up blind. She had one on her today and it freaked her out. With the warmer temps we have had the past few years the little buggers are out almost all year now, and not just on critters. I still get one on me from time to time even though my gear was saturated twice with Sawyers. Ticks are getting to be like cockroaches, impervious to almost everything.
  10. Figures. I see tree rats while deer hunting the early morning. Then we go to a different spot to scout and try and kill some tree rats and see nothing. Did locate some fresher rubs, and found a few places to set the g/f up in a blind near them for the gun season. Met a guy on the walk out that told us to try asking the farmers in this area next season to hunt as most give permission. So it wasn't t total wash out. Back to deer hunting in the morning.
  11. Heading home, only squirrels and birds this morning, not a deer seen. Gonna go make breakfast, switch the bow for the .22lr and take the g/f small game hunting. Sent from my XT830C using Tapatalk
  12. Not sure how deep is too deep. All of the land, public and private I have been hunting lately there is no way to be a "mile in". One area if you walked a mile in you are either hunting 100 yards from an opposite parking area, or you walked off a cliff. Another if you walk a mile in, you crossed two main roads. Private land, 3/4 of a mile in and I am not on the property I have permission to hunt anymore. Best thing to do is try to find the areas that might be a little thicker to get too, and that most other hunters don't want to deal with.
  13. I am so sick of seeing and hearing about this $^+! @!#$%&* cowards ganging up on one guy! Really just flat out sick of it. No one helped and I bet no arrests were even made. This is what Obama, Hillary, and all the people who support them have turned this country into.
  14. Congrats Fletch. Good deer and nice you got to him before the yote's did any real damage.
  15. London broil on the grill, mashed taters and asparagus.
  16. I think all the "radical protesters" need to realize they are not actually protesting. It's domestic terrorism from my point of view ( and many others ). So it should be treated as such. If they don't nip this in the bud it will get insane. No one said they were declaring a revolution, who said that Uptown? Many of us said no matter who wins, there's a chance of this happening. Guess what! It is starting, and look who started the whole thing. Who is killing LEO's, beating innocent people up just for voting, starting fires, wreaking havoc, and flat out being full blown criminals? It sure as hell isn't the Trump supporters. It's the democraps. You can talk all the talk you want, that's the flat out truth. At some point, people will tire of it and start fighting back. I am not an overly religious person, but I have run out of cheeks to turn.
  17. So, you have had deer get spooked by switching from safe to fire on crossbows? I seriously am not trying to derail this thread. Just asking a serious question.
  18. OK, I am not trying to be a jerk, but, you are saying the safety on a crossbow is louder then the safety on a gun? Before anyone gets a dirty pamper, I am trying to learn something here!
  19. He's already been hired as a consultant to Cuomo.
  20. We had left over jambalaya, and to celebrate, I got to finish up the hot wings I made on Sunday.
  21. How's that crossbow working out for you this year? Giving that surgically repaired shoulder a rest? Been out with that crossbow yet this year?
  22. No thanks. It's a celebration day. Lets keep the talk about poop trees to a minimum. At least for today. LOL
  23. I reflected on this question over night. I think it depends on how the fight started and who threw the first punch. Hopefully, we can shake hands, grab a cold beer, and hunt together again next year.
  24. Never say never! The dems said Trump would never win. Um, yeah, that didn't work out so well now did it?
