  1. If I remember right from the label it is.
  2. Haven't had a really good beer in over a month. Chest cold the past couple days so decided to get some hoppy meds to see if it helps. This was pretty dang good.
  3. Please lock this up. Board was sold via another site.
  4. They are from Suffolk, hoping they aren't hunting with a rifle there. Pretty sure it's bow only in Suffolk co. .
  5. So you admit, without people telling you it was deer scat you wouldn't have known?
  6. Welcome aboard. You should call to get information about camping on state land and public parks. They all have different rules. Most you can camp for a few days with no permit, some a parking permit, others are only open sup up to sundown. Also make sure you can use a rifle in the area you plan to hunt. Just because some state and public land in in areas that allow the use of a rifle, have separate regs about it. Again, make calls. Also, you cannot cut brush or use screw in steps on public land, so no need to carry a machete. Spare knife, spare flashlight, batteries, a piece of rope or an actual strap to drag a deer can be a huge amount of help. Zip ties to attach the tag to the deer. TP! Many people forget to bring TP. Water to rinse your hands off after gutting a deer. Besides the basics, you plan your gear around the area you hunt.

    Weather

I sat the area 10 minutes from home for a couple hours this morning. Not feeling the best so wanted to be out well before I could get soaked. Now that a good chunk of leaves are off the trees, I can actually see the mountain I been hunting from my yard ( if I could drive straight there it would take 4 minutes ). Had the dog out around 12:30 pm, and watched the rain come over that towards us, and boy did the fog get thick on the side of that mountain for about an hour. They said occasional soaking showers, not a two and a half hour downpour. But, we need the rain so......................
  8. Good luck, hope you fing a bog boy. Enjoy the camp and the hunting, colder temps should have them on their feet a little more.
  9. Good luck and enjoy the camping and hunting.
  10. Was it really necessary to use that 'c' word? No, it wasn't! Most women find that word extremely abrasive and we do have women on this site. Way to go genius! As for the rest. Wake up! HELLOOO!! We are already in WWIII !
  11. Yeah, this was the the opposition does, I wonder....Does Uptown have an alibi? http://redstatewatcher.com/article.asp?id=43246 I find it absolutely revolting the amount of violence and chaos the people supporting the Democratic party are causing. Anyone supporting this behavior surely need to either be in therapy or prison.
  12. Nothing to bash. You make a very valid point. Many people with private land grow food plots which help grow bigger deer, in most instances anyway. They also let the smaller bucks pass to get older. The bottom line on how big deer get, even does, is the food they eat, or how long they go undetected by hunters. Deer who scavenge for food ( wild nuts, berries, and foliage ) in the middle of big woods territory may not grow as fast as a deer eating the bountiful foods of farm lands.
  13. The two I just bought had pin holes as well. Haven't water proofed them yet, but when I do it will be Scotch Guard and air out for two days.
  14. I tried gummy bears, didn't work. Deer still staying out of bow range.
  15. I always leave the seeds in. A few years ago when we were experimenting, I took the seeds out and they lost a lot of the heat. I don't cook with them a lot as the g/f isn't a fan of real spicy foods, so when I make chili i have to make two batches. I also make poppers ( even from cherry bombs ), stuffed with cheese and ham on the grill ( you can also do this in the oven ), on sandwiches, burgers, just eat them like a pickle, I make my own salsa, sometimes I will put them in a blender and put that with some various hot sauces to make my own hot sauce to spin wings in..... The one thing the g/f always laughs at me for is drinking the juice from the jars. LOL
  16. I don't think it's unethical to hunt in the rain. As was mentioned, make sure you have practiced in those conditions. The same for really windy days. IMO, you better have your poop wired tight hunting in the rain, a bad shot might mean not recovering a deer. I would rather sit out a rainy day then take a chance of loosing the deer.
  17. They said they would look into it. Nothing about not hunting that area was stated to me. But, I won't hunt that spot now for two reasons, 1 because of the bait, and 2 grampy showed me a few spots away from where most of the hunters will be. Yes, the bait and cam were less then 100 yds from a main hiking trail, and maybe 200 yards from the parking area. I probably shouldn't have even brought it up on here, I forget we have a few very strong willed openly admitted poachers on this forum. Ehem....
  18. Just hunt! This is the "Live From The Woods" thread. Ask questions in the general chat, or hunting areas.
  19. Uptown Turtle Neck- FFS! I feel not responding to our local cop hating, cellar dwelling, anti gun, anti hunting, ISIS supporting, low life poaching ( if it even hunts ), over all clueless, bottom dwelling troll of a member, that maybe you should stay in the political area. Uptown, you can't even follow up on threads you make. You throw a jab, then run. OH! If you really want to talk about snitches? You sure you want to go there? You are a snitch too. Just ask greg54.
  20. The issue with gun laws is they are created by clueless politicians hopping on the bandwagon of what guns are considered bad or scary by the general public. Unfortunately, "the general public" doesn't have a clue them selves. Most gun laws are created on a whim, sorry, it's sad but true! I hear/read so many talk about "sensible gun laws", that will never happen because the clueless politicians just looking to the masses for approval and to keep their seat, are getting feedback from even more clueless people who wouldn't know a pistol from a rifle. It always amazes me how many people I have talked to who think a Glock is an assault rifle. Really?...... The politically controlled media keeps stupid people stupid. Sorry, in this age of the web, if you aren't smart enough to look up what you are fighting against, you are stupid! They keep calling for a full ban on what they 'THINK' an assault rifle is. Why? Because a few lower then scum people have used them for horrific acts of violence. I try to get this through to people I talk to who are either full blown anti gun, or just anti "assault weapon" people, it's not the gun that commits acts of crime, it's the a$$ h***$ that use them. When was the last time a gun just went out and killed something all on it's own? It's NOT the guns that we should fear or ban, it's the scum bags using them. I have no issues with the NICS system, why would I? I can own my guns legally, so who cares if they run a BG check on me?
  21. There is no way someone on this site would commit such a crime! Wait, maybe thats why the bike was in the tree.
  22. I find it so fitting that looser Kaepernick's first game back was hammered down by a team wearing Red-White-And Blue! The Buffalo Bills! Maybe he should have been on both knees praying to God for the Bills to give him a break. 45-16 Buffalo. This isn't meant to start a stupid political debate, but it does seem fitting to to how he acts. If the staff feel it's better suited in the "Political" section, I apologize.
  23. Congrats dalo and wooly! Looking forward to the pics as well.
