  1. Nice pic. Yep, that's up there a bit.
  2. Same here in Upstate. Kind of irritating having to watch teams that don't even play in the state. I was hoping that blackout lift would have changed that, guess not. Bills had some spark last year and got the engine running. Now it's time to put it in gear and go. Offense has the talent in WR and Backs, line might need tweaking, and the QB situation is nothing more them a mess right now. Defense is great.
  3. Cassel is OK at best. Nothing overly impressive in him. But, he does have experience to pass along. EJ? Still looking like Fitzpatrick. Orton did a good job last year getting the Bills a winning record and just missing the playoffs. They let him go. EJ was doing w/e ever they do on IR. He's always hurt. Will be an interesting season for sure!
  4. Thanks for all the input people. I appreciate it. I was told no. No plots.
  5. Here's the deal, whats done is done! But here's an example of what passionate people do to get goals achieved: http://huntingny.com/forums/topic/28610-time-to-get-serious-about-doves/?hl=%2Bdove+%2Bhunting You wont get the job done arguing in here.
  6. So, you are a hunter of all seasons? So you have appx 2 months to get that big buck.
  7. How many people in this thread that are irritated with the changes hunt with a rifle or shotgun or ML as well as a bow?
  8. I know the hunting season is upon us, but so is the football season. Any Bills fans with predictions? What do you think about the blackout lift?
  9. Abortion would be more of a political take. Just a bit to much to keep this in general areas don't ya think?
  10. I really have been trying to leave this alone. But....... You cannot legislate the morality or the ethics of people. They are going to do whatever they want, and it is what it is. But, the line is clear. Wrong is wrong, right is right. It doesn't matter if it's a penny or hundreds of dollars, you took advantage of someone, and in most peoples opinion, that's not very ethical. Like mentioned, any "friend" who would ask you to do this isn't a friend at all. Do WTF ever you want to do! Just remember, if the thought of it being unethical entered your mind, then it probably is.
  11. Might give this a try. Drop a bag or two near the swamp or pond where it can get to actual soil. Thanks Biz.
  12. Good luck in the new area grow, sounds like it's got some good hunting waiting for you.
  13. LOL! Probably. I will get one when I get my new license in a week or two.
  14. As far as I know you can't use them. Considered baiting.
  15. Other threads say people are having issued getting the new paper versions. I don't have one yet.
  16. Planting here and there means small patches maybe 20 feet or so in maybe 3 or 4 areas. It would be like the pics Biz posted. I can't make large areas. If I get permission to do this it can't be something that will 'take over' or become invasive. There is a lot of vegetation, ferns, a few grassy patches, and a lot of small shrubbery already. I got the idea to possibly plant some things in areas I sit. Just to improve the odds a bit in my favor. Too late for this year, but was looking forward to next year.
  17. The AR is harsh. But bow hunters are up in arms about only being allowed to kill does only for the first two weeks of the seasons. Their anger is justified, I get it. You have to burn tags. I love bow hunting, but due to things, I am not bow hunting this year. But getting carried away will not be good on the big picture.
  18. http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/28605.html As far as the new regs on that one, looks like for this season you can still use last years tag. But, that's a shady area as well. They said the new doe only regs would be next year, than blammo, it's for this year.
  19. The bad thing is when you click a link that you "think" will get you on the right track, you end up back where you started. Again I appreciate the help. Thank you.
  20. I will check that out. Thank you. The no sun and only being able to plant small 20 foot areas is an issue. Never hurts to ask people who know about things.
  21. HA! I never fount that wdswtr. I did look a lot last season, appreciate that link very much. Thank you.
  22. I was talking to my buddy about food plots last weekend at camp. I wasn't going to even bring this up in here. I asked if his dad would have an issue with me planting some things here and there. His dad was hiking the High Peaks with a few friends Sunday, so I didn't get to ask. Just got a text asking what I meant. I did my best to explain, but I am not sure how to really explain the whole thing. I can't remove trees or rip up the ground. The area is a huge canopy cover, very little full sun spots, there are streams, a small swamp, and even a small pond you cannot see in an aerial view. Most of the ground has at least a 5" layer of old pine needles. I would have to plant in the woods in small patches here and there without disturbing the natural terrain. Is there anything I can plant there that will work and be non-invasive and grow in the shade? Go easy on me here people, I have never done this before. I asked, and was returned a question I can't answer because I have never done a food plot before.
