  1. I made the blind, and about 8 other ones in that area. Calling it. Wife has homemade cinnamon rolls waiting for me at home.
  2. It's a brush blind on public land, so it is what it is. I can still be miffed about it so neener neener.
  3. Im in, some dude is sitting in the blind I wanted to hunt. Not happy about that. So I had to walk back out and now I'm sitting in a spot I never see deer and not far enough in for my taste.
  4. I use UV killer on it. When I first got them and took a pic I knew that had to be done. I want to get a couple of the lighter weight tent pole ( ring ? ) blinds for next year for the wife.
  5. Set your alarm an hour early. Play solitaire until the time you would usually get up, grab another coffee, and roll a set of die.
  6. That's why I won't leave it on public land, I would prefer not have it stolen.
  7. Maybe 10 years ago I leaned a little more center, still do on a few things as I just don't care about some matters enough to get my boxer briefs in a twist about them. I really don't care of a guy likes to eat bananas or a woman likes to play on the carpet. A few other things as well, like wearing a mask if I have to, I don't feel it's a violation of any freedom that actually matters in the grand scheme of things. I have always had issues with how the left acts on some topics and the tantrums they play when it doesn't go just how they want it to, but the right does the same thing. But the left doesn't seem to value my core values. So I stand on the right. I do care about letting people into this country and letting them have a ton of free money, bring criminal activities here, and are treated better then US citizens. I also care about my 2A rights in which the left seem to be the biggest party trying to take them away. Health insurance was always a PITA, then Obama made that so bad even doctors didn't like the dude. The left is pretty much responsible for this new age race war we have going on, they are/have been pushing this agenda and have been pushing it hard since the prior mentioned anal discharge was in office. The left defunded police and military, and are doing it again. Prices on everything go up when a democrat is in office most of the time. I could go on, but i don't want to argue, just get some points across. Biden? OMG! This guy is even hated by his own party, far more then trump ever was/is. He's done nothing, and I mean nothing good for this country, and it will only get worse. You can't strand our Troops and civilians in a terrorist country and think that will end well for your political career. I can't, talking or even thinking about Biden makes my eye twitch and I grind my teeth.
  8. Title pretty much sums up my question. I have used the one I have a few times setting it up to hunt, and then taking it with me the same day. I know deer see them and may avoid areas, and the times I did this I did see deer a couple times and they didn't seem all that spooked. Of course, I did set it up in a spot that had some hanging cover from above and thick brushy stuff behind it. The times I didn't see deer far outnumber the times I did, but how would one know if it was the blind being there or deer just not moving through that area on that day? Thoughts?
  9. Packing it up. Heard a doe blow and crash thither woods but never saw her.
  10. Had to move across the field to my other blind, sun in my eyes so I couldn't see. It was warmer, but I reckon I need to be able to see a deer to shoot a deer.
  11. Sitting a field for the first time this year. There's a guy still hunting so maybe he push a doe out to the field?
  12. Caddy Shack, anyone remember Rodney's 12GA driver?
  13. Ah, now I remember you posting about that the other day. That sucks man.
  14. That's a big boy. No joking comments about you planning to run that deer down from me.
  15. Passwords for WIFI are always a great idea, and something difficult for people to guess.
  16. Do you know what's causing the 7400 to jam up? I had one a while ago in .270 and was dumb enough to trade it. Last spring when I was selling one of the shotguns a guy offered me a 750 in .308 even up, and I declined due to them being the replacement for the 7400 in 2006 ( I think that was the year ). I said no because that's well after Remington started having sort of crappy guns. I would suggest a Howa Ranchland 1500, but they are a tad heavy for a short rifle. My Axis XP is fairly light, I think around 5-6LBS with the scope.
  17. I think you need to stop using electronics. First porn ads now this. Didn't you also have some other electronic woes a while back too? Don't reply or click any of the links.
  18. Are you now offering guided hunts? Figured I'd ask since this in the Site Sponsors area.
  19. Another thread bites the dust Another thread bits the dust And another thread ruined and another thread ruined Another thread bites the dust
  20. There really are deer in the woods! My wife tapped out at 9:30 and headed back to the truck. I texted here I wanted to sit still for a while longer. I packed up and headed out a little before 11. I jumped a deer just past where she had been sitting on my way out. I heard it and only saw a tail. So, I skirted the area where we park to see if I could get a better look. Jumped them again, turned out to be two does which turned and ran back towards where I originally jumped them. Being optimistic I thought I'd drop my pack at the truck and sit for a short bit in a small gully thinking maybe a buck would come sniffing. So I drop my pack and motion to my wife I'm going to take a quick peek pointing where I was headed. I start walking past the truck and I hear a doe blow in front of me. I glance to my right and see another two deer looking at me, she stomped blew and both took off. I put on a little stalk, and they were both does too. I was hoping one was a buck, with just about all I had I was hoping one of them was a buck. So we saw a total of 6 deer between us, probably 5 as the doe she had milling around was probably one of the ones I jumped on my way out. I'll take it! Actually seeing deer helps motivate me more then staring at squirrels and chipmunks. I want to head out down here tomorrow, hopefully the coffee I spilled all over my little chair dries by then and my knees feel better. I don't know what's going on, but the past year or so my knees and elbows hurt enough to rival my back at times.
  21. WTF! Just watched a deer walk right past the burlap blind I have about 80 yards away. Finally a deer, a doe but it was a deer sighting. The zig zag has begun.
  22. Stare down with a red squirrel about 20 minutes ago. A few shots off in the distance so far. Coffee time I guess.
  23. In and ready. Sitting a different blind thus morning. A warm 30* right now. Good luck today everyone.
  24. The NZ early bow season is a lot shorter then the SZ. It's usually around three weeks until the early ML season, then the regular season starts up there the Saturday after the early ML season ends. Generally the ML season starts near the middle of the month and the regular season around the 20th, or a couple days later. The early ML season starts the first Saturday after Columbus Day. So next year it will start in the 15th of October. https://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/10002.html I can't remember that being different for at least a few decades.
