  1. I would love to see NY split, NNY and SNY! Downstate liberals are the #1 issue with stupid gun laws and crapping on hunters. My only fear with this is how much would it really help? With all the other large metro areas with many being of the same mindset as downstate, would it change anything? If we could get this cede, maybe NNY could get a governor that actually cares about 2A and hunters. I just don't hold my breath.

  3. I can't put my finger on why Last Man Standing just doesn't feel the same. Maybe the Mandy replacement, they made Kyle even dumber then he should be...Who knows.. But, yeah, it's just not the same. If you like Happy Gilmore, then check out my previous mention of The Ridiculous 6.
  4. Wondering where Halloween 2018 will land? I'm guessing either Hulu or Netflix. Zag, what type of movies are you into? I don't do much TV anymore, after the morons at ABC cancelled Last Man Standing ( it's now on FOX, but for some reason, it's not the same ) and then The Chew. It would help to give you suggestions if you said what you really enjoy watching.
  5. I can't really say I liked it, but it was different. Kind of like Annihilation. It has it moments. I can post some really twisted films, but I was leaning towards the mild.
  6. UGH! There was no point to be made. It was a joke! My edit was a spelling error. Storm, why can't you just stop? I apologize for making a joke! Perhaps this thread would have been more definitive and pronounced if it was locked up and made detrimental.
  7. I'm honestly more of a horror fan, but I would not recommend many of the movies I like do to copious amounts of gore, or flat out over the top disturbing. But, here's a few flicks I thought were pretty good, and not over the top: The Babysitter All The Boys Love Mandy Lane Bird Box Life After Beth The Witch A few non-horror: Death Race Beyond Anarchy El Camino Christmas The Ridiculous 6
  8. This might be personal attacks, but here why this won't work: Papist would die if he couln't spread his brand of cheer and happiness about politics with the world. Hence, his minions would crumble as well. TF would end up in an asylum because he couldn't post about beer. Many would not come back, they would spend the week planning GTG's every other day and never type again. Bill would go spent too much time on "woods roads" during the down time and come back with so many stories the site would over load and crash. There would be a full on site wide GTG because no one would have read anything I posted. Storm would have no one to hide from. Knowing we were locked out, our wives and g/f's would create accounts, and some of you would become single after they read the cracks some make. WARNING! THE ABOVE COMMENT IS MEANT TO BE A JOKE! NOTHING MORE! WARNING!
  9. Agree 1000% on starting off in a smaller area, or even your own land. Agree with this as well. When I was a kid trying to learn this stuff there was no internet, and you paid top dollar for topo maps, and or maps of the area.
  10. Interesting about the utility poles. Never really thought of that. I have also been in areas where there aren't any poles, many areas when you get on some of the back roads you can go a long time with seeing a house or poles.
  11. That looks like a good option. Looks solid and comfy. Let us know what you end up buying. I don't use a vest or a pack turkey hunting most times. I can fit everything I need in pockets. If not, I have and old TAC vest and some old ALICE/web gear harnesses that work for me. I did however, learn a huge lesson/s last Spring because I hunted the gobblers a lot with my bow. I need a higher seat to be able to draw correctly, and hence I need to put up some burlap in from of me. So I use the link below and it worked well for me. I would say it was great, but it's not easy to get a turkey to cooperate with bow ranges at times. This chair fit my burlap and para cord in the storage area just fine. https://www.amazon.com/Ameristep-High-Back-Chair-Realtree-Frame/dp/B078HB1DSJ/ref=zg_bs_3413691_14/143-8743242-6887969?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=G33NJNJ2NXYYESF1R191
  12. HA! The two in the upper left are the same ones I have. Only difference is the two smaller ones I have are blue for the wife and red for me.
  13. Was just reading some of the reviews, so looking forward to yours. Only issue I read that was a concern was it can rust easily.
  14. I want to get one of the larger ferro rods down the road. To get a better grip I will add some duct tape to one end, the tape will also have other uses as well. I might get that book, looks a like a good read. Not my first time. I used to camp in the back woods a lot when I was younger, I still get out there when I can. I just want to get back into doing things that test me. No flies on that haul! Also that browning knife looks pretty solid.
  15. After that last can of Ostrich pi$$ and using a Bud to rince my pallet, this works. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk
  16. I want to try what a buddy suggested, hold the ferro rod on the tip of your boot, and as you said, pull up for a better spark. I am out of practice, this used to be second nature to me, trying get it all dialed in again.
  17. That's something I only heard about a few years ago. From what I have read, seen, and understand, it works very well to get a spark, just haven't tried it, mainly, because I don't have any busted hacksaw blades laying around.
  18. Here's the link, just be warned, I am new to this talking to a camera thing, but I am trying to get better. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWMATmGBSX0
  19. OMG! This was awful IMO! It tasted like really crappy cider. Couldn't finish this, down the drain. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk
  20. I agree, some of the 'lower brands ' ( as many like to call them ) work fine. It's how you take care of things IMO. I honestly only bought the knife for the ferro rod, and was surprised that they functioned. I will say, I would not recommend the knife for anything more then basic car camping things, IE- cutting para cord, or rope, or making hot dog sticks. It's uncomfortable, very thin, and even out of the package had a slight curve to it. I don't even want to try and guess what the steel is, maybe, MAYBE, 440SS, and that's reaching. That said, the knife will find a home in my car camping gear, the ferro rod in my back country gear. Anyone interested in the video let me know. It's a bit long at almost 20 minutes, but that's because I talk a little about the knives I have, ferro rods, and even give a small beer review. But I would post a link to anyone interested. Knives are like guns, you can never have to many!
  21. Very sorry for your loss Swamp-bucks, sincere condolences to you and your family. Thoughts and prayers sent.
