  1. Doc just turn it on before you head in the woods then shut it off while there bet you can't turn it back on quick enough
  2. I have 4 of them & always have one with me Yes they work well up to a light breeze radius is as stated 15ft there is a scent to it but does not seem to be that strong & have not noticed it affect deer carry mine Spring turkey season through late Sept Archery Bring it with me in late Oct NY hunting though never needed it
  3. Agree Doc like I stated my experiance here is with a small deer population Heck just in 8N hunters kill almost as many deer then our entire state harvest. I think If it is illegal in NY then it shouldn't be done period. I personaly would hunt over bait legally before other methods like deer drives
  4. ALso see a bunch of back yard feeders all the way along I-90 & they are not bashful about it. right in plain sight.
  5. I can say baiting is not a huge advantage here from what I have seen over the years. the real advantage is using it for trail cams to see what you have on your property Like WNYBuckHunter stated deer are very smart & they will pattern you. They seem to go Nocturnal pretty fast in an area with bait. It can get very expensive too (4-5 healthy deer can go through 100-150# of feed a week) I have tested this over the years on my own property(feeding not hunting) With that said our deer population is very small compared to NY. we have an estimated 85,000 I think you may have a better advantage if you are hunting in an area that has a high population but then you already do where we hunt in NY I would not see the point to waste the money. I feel the same as Biz-R-OWorld If is legal I will use it. To each is own everyone has an opinion on what is the right way & wrong way to hunt. My way is by reading the law books & doing what ever is legal in that state.
  6. I have had great luck with Moultries been running the some of mine for 5 years with zero issues I just won a Leupold & just set it out last weekend will see how it works

  9. I switched last year & won't go back I have the TRU Ball pro diamond Extreme 4 finger thumb release I do recommend getting at least a lanyard for it if you get one
  10. Looking good I just picked up 2 cycle country front mounted for $250 now just have to find a place that has spare parts as Cycle country was bought out by Koplin & did not keep the mower part of them
  11. I have the Koplin mounts on my Honda rancher but don't think they would work well upside down
  12. Fasteddy I need the list of all the stores you shop at lawdwaz I think you did the right thing & it does suck we can not trust anyone anymore I used to stop for any broken down motorist I could not anymore even here in NH unless I have my .45 on my side.
  13. Very Nice!!! Per Biologic's site: BioLogic's Winter Grass Plus is a blend of traditional cool season grains, BioLogic Brassicas, and Deer Radishes created to provide attractive forage throughout the fall and well into the winter months. As an added bonus, the clover is not only attractive in the fall/winter, but will flush in the spring making the plot a great feeding area for both whitetails and wildturkeys. Winter Grass Plus is a cost effective, proven to perform, food plot blend for experienced land managers or food plot beginners. It's an excellent selection for clubs and economical choice for large plantings.
  14. yeah the fields we have are pretty solid Thinking I may just make a scarifier but would rather try a plow or rototiller not sure how they work behind an ATV
  15. anyone use their ATV for breaking gound for gardens or food plots my honda rancher is my tractor I snow plow, york rake, Mow, spray & disk harrow with it & was thinking of getting an attachment for breaking ground. If anyone does what do you use this is how mine is set up most of the summer
