I was wondering where you’ve been, you’ve been pretty quiet. -
Climber pros , your hooked to the tree right from the ground, with the harness and stand. So it’s pretty dang safe, as you climb. You can climb anywhere’s from 10 feet to 30 If you want , Just make sure you attach the top and bottom sections together with a tether strap so if the bottom does slip it won’t fall to the ground. Myself I’ve never had this happen as I take my time and always make sure the teeth of the climber are biting the tree and the sections are at the proper angle to bite the tree. Cons with a climber , needs to be a straight tree, trees with very large bases are hard because you have to set the climber higher up the trunk to maintain that proper angle as you climb and the tree tapers down . So some times you have to be s bit of a monkey to climb up on the platform and limbs that require more than pruning sheers to cut can be a pain. Hang on’s pros , you can hang them in any tree you want , so more options to move and super versatile . cons , you’re limited to the height you can go by the amount of step / sticks you carry in. A line mans harness is just about mandatory for hanging off the side of the tree as you strap the sticks to the tree and then you have to attach the stand at height. Then the most dangerous part is the transfer from sticks to stand, yes you should be harnessed to the tree but I’m pretty sure I’ve read that the transfer is the highest cause of accidents . But having said that I had a buddy that could almost get his sticks and hang on set up in a tree as fast as I could in my climber so practice makes perfect .

big 6 & 8’s are so cool , best of luck.,

With the rope you just have to mindful that your not rubbing it on say a rock when your pulling yourself out. The ropes are pretty strong but not as abrasion resistant as a cable.

I’m also have been looking, what I’ve been doing is just google land for sale in your county and tons of sights come up.

I just bought this one myself , haven’t installed it yet though. Has good reviews too.

Yep it’s a old N.A.P QuickTune with the Hoyt mounting plate . They were a huge jump from the old flipper rests . One could always tell when his bow was out of tune by just looking at the prongs. One prong would show more wear than the other.
-
Is that a old NAP QuickTime you took off ? sure looks like one ,it’s far from crappy, I actually put a old golden key future pro on my old Protec for a indoor set up.

I have a NY and Utah permit, here’s a map that shows what states a person can carry in with both permits . Also here’s a link for constitutional carry states that do not require a cary concealed permit, with some exceptions. https://worldpopulationreview.com/state-rankings/constitutional-carry-states I still need to get to PA , but have heard some county’s are easier to get a out of state permit than others. The thing that sucked is back when I did my Utah permit from the time I signed up for it till I took the course (about 3 months later ) PA removed themselves from it, was not happy about that.

Keep positive. Remember its deer hunting not shooting. After opening weekend and after thanksgiving weekend the deer have been hunted hard and sightings go down. How many times have you hunted your blind ? You may have burned the area out and need to move. There’s plenty of season left and you do have meat in the freezer so that’s a plus.

Unfortunately the know it all Ny Congress with their control issues , I bet will not relinquish control to the DEC. Even though the DEC are the experts on wildlife management.
