It’s happened in one form or another to all us, several years ago I was tracking a buck i shot just before end of legal light during archery and after about 100 yards I paused in mowed trail that he crossed .I decided to back out and come back next morning. I hunted the morning and went right back to the trail, walked probably 20-30 yards off the trail and leaned my bow against a tree. Followed the blood another 75 yards there’s my deer. Took me maybe 20 minutes to find him but then it took me 30 mins to find my bow. I was not happy with myself, live and learn. I also keep a strip of pink tape to tie on my string now when set my bow down.

I drive Campbell to Elmira for work , the amount of deer I’ve seen hit these last few weeks is depressing.I’ve narrowly missed 4 that were only a ball of hide and 30 feet of blood in the road left over from the tractor trailers. Not bad in the truck but the Camry doesn’t exactly have a ton of ground clearance. -
I would if I were you, I go through a bunch of pistol ammo every year. I haven’t run out yet..

If there has ever been a time to invest into reloading equipment now more than any is the time. Even reloading cases , powder and projectiles are scarce .

When my dad gave me my grandad’s 300 savage 99, he’s looking at it and he say’s the amount of deer this rifle has taken legal and illegal. I remember story’s that my dad and my uncles would tell about the “things “ they had to do when they were kids at times on the farm to put food on the table .. oh and you guys are crazy there’s not that many deer in Steuben county.

Is sucks but does happen , to all of us. I’ve lossed 3 my entire time hunting. Strange things happen, especially with arrows/bolts. I remember this one time like it was yesterday but it was 20 years ago . Now I did find this deer but she ran 350-400 yards after the shot. I shot her at the base of my climber with a 385 grain copper solid out of my 870 -12 gauge straight down through her shoulder from 20 feet up and it just obliterated her heart. My dad came to help me drag her and he couldn’t believe how far she ran with the damage that was done. We do everything in our power to make a clean kill but sometimes stuff happens .

You don’t have to show off you know .

Just pick a spot and go!!! ^^ grampy nailed it ^^ your putting to much pressure on yourself, go to your ladder stand and enjoy the morning sunrise, and hopefully you’ll connect. If you don’t it’s the first day of a fairly long season.

I’ve doubled up several times during gun, but never during archery that’s just awesome.outstanding.... -
If it is 30 inch across a few cuts up from the bottom and the weight would take care of the rest. Talk with your neighbor and maybe he would lend a hand, many hand make light work.

You said you can’t remove it, I assume you do not have a chainsaw etc? Is this right ?

So again was there a problem with my suggestions ? -
Well it’s YOU’RE land so you can hunt how you want. When you put up your stand did you happen to scout it and see if indeed the deer are bedding down in the apple orchard
