  1. Me, I'd go with Rufus for a boy, Aggie for a girl.
  2. Welcome! I'm on the other side of the state. But I'm sure we will have something in common! Join right in!
  3. I'd have a hard time keeping my food down, just hearing his voice!
  4. One thing is certain. I saw enough on your pic's, to know you have every reason to be excited about the upcoming season!
  5. You don't get a chance on a buck like that very often. Most hunters never will. Make the best of what you have and put him on your wall! Wish you the best of luck this season!
  6. You're famous here and always will be!
  7. Buck from last year. 189 weighed on the farms old Toledo scale. our area.
  8. That's all well and good. But if I have to do multiple scrapes I'm in big trouble!
  9. In 1974, we got the compressed air gun shots at Fort Jackson SC. Walk down the line getting shots in both arms at the same time. Six or eight in all. Everyone pretending it didn't hurt! But it sure did!
  10. You seem like a no BS kinda guy, so hope it works out for ya. And I look forward to your honest review!
  11. Last time I got the double whammy of flu and tetanus shot together, it hurt for a couple weeks! And I too remember the "shot" gun line in basic training! But I wasn't such a wimp back in those days!!! These days, I need surgery in both shoulders and have been putting it off for quite awhile now. When I can't use em I'll get the surgery. Till then I deal with it. Backed my bow down to 50lbs. or so and can only hold full draw for a few seconds. But I'm still in the game. So I'm good.
  12. Otis is looking great! And I'm sure he's learning his bunny lessons well! And still awfully cute too!
  13. You are really doing the best thing for yourself. Best of luck! You WILL do it!
  14. Started one around this time last year. Shaved the week after thanksgiving. After going back to work. Public school district.
  15. Works for me too. Exactly what I do.
  16. Thanks so much! I tried one to see how it shoots from my Raptor, and it's hitting exactly the same as my target points! So that works. And your experience with them on deer sounds excellent! So that seals the deal for me. Into the quiver they will go!
  17. I have a couple of fringe areas that I will use to experiment with. I'm a firm believer that an old dog can learn new tricks! Thanks, everyone for the feedback! I'll check back in, as to whatever results I get.
  18. Yes, I'm diabetic. With a couple other things I'm taking meds for.
  19. Great comments so far! I'm wondering if health issues like being a diabetic has any bearing on the success of this working or not. I bought some large zip ties, and will try to make my first mock scrape soon.
  20. It's awesome that you are applying our #1 advantage over the deer. Our Brain!! No matter how good my set up is, I'm always THINKING how it could be better, based on what I'm seeing. "Where are the deer mostly coming from"? "What is the most frequent wind direction and how is that affecting the deer movement"? "Would a slight movement of the set up, increase or decrease my opportunities"? "Ground blind or ladder stand"? "Add another shooting lane"? "Go higher or lower, from where I am set up now"? Always keep using that #1 advantage! As the years go by, your past successes and failures in the deer woods will give you more of the answers to the questions you ask yourself. Never stop learning and thinking! Let the game we hunt be your best teachers! I sincerely wish you the best of luck this season. Hope it will be your best ever!
  21. I have tried it a couple times, but scrapes went dead afterwards. But I'm wanting to give it another try. Not sure what went wrong. I know it has worked for others.

    Pins

Single pin HHA for me too. Have it set for 25 yards. Good from 0 to 30 yards, my max shooting range.
  23. In scrapes? I may try to experiment this fall. Do you do it? Does it work for you? Bad results or great results? I'd like to know what does and doesn't work. Opinions? Lets hear em!
  24. Probably just making corn mash whiskey, for personal use only. What else would he use it for?
