For buying trail cams, information and advice, the absolute go to guy is phade! We are very fortunate to have him here!
-
Incredibly cool! What do I need to do, to get on your Christmas list?
-
OK, so I was wrong! I do know someone. He seems to do quite well in the deer woods. So maybe there is something to this Ozonics thing?
-
Just because it's something I likely would not use myself, doesn't mean I think no one else should. Give it a go! And let us know how it worked for you. I don't personally know anyone who has used Ozonic's, so perhaps I'll learn something. Best of luck with your new purchase!

Even when we are having fun,......... we aren't having fun.

Welcome! Glad to have you join us!

LOL! Now that's funny.

I pee on my bait pile to make it more attractive than my neighbors bait pile.

There is a thread under Deer Hunting, topic 2016 Rut Predictions. You will find plenty of info to your question there. And just ask away if you have any more questions.

Some people just have "ALL" the luck!!!! That would have turned out much differently, if it was my phone.

Hunting mature bucks is a whole different game than hunting just any deer. The fact you have a mature buck on your property is exciting. As you can't kill one where none exist. But once they "know" they are being hunted, it makes killing him much harder, but not impossible. Another thing is, that though you have been watching him all summer his pattern is about to change! Available and preferred food sources are changing rapidly now. So try to be one step ahead, to be where he will be going to feed when you are hunting him! If you know his bedding area, make it off limits! Hunt between bedding and feeding, only when the wind is perfectly in your favor. Change stands and set-ups like your socks, very often, never let him pattern YOU. Early season before the rut is an excellent time to kill a mature buck! Some good advice has already been posted above and I'm sure more will follow this post. I'm no expert! Just a hunter that has had some success killing mature bucks in an area where they are far and few between. Wish you the very best of luck hunting the monarch of your hunting property!

Looks like you two "old salts" did very well indeed! What a great day of good company and excellent fishing. Well worth the trip! Way to go guy's! Just wanted to add great pic's and I need to get one of those hats the captain was wearing!

Cold weather Coats
grampy replied to firehunter48's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
Woolrich is one of them. I have a coat made by them that is very warm. I bought it nearly 30 years ago and it's still holding up! -
Good thing there was no open flame, or she might have ended up in Albany county!

Aw heck, just do what you want. Nobody in your neighborhood will drop a dime on ya, right?

Which state forest do you think has the least hunting pressure in the state
grampy replied to LJC's topic in General Hunting
You would make a great team! Please post your harvest pictures! Got a feeling I'll be waiting awhile. -
Looks to be a 1970 model. I was 13 and never got a ride in that one.

Good thing that storm will miss most of us!

Looks like a great event! Wish it was closer to me. You going Paula?

Some great suggestions already given. I'll add, a couple packs of those chemical hand warmers. They weigh next to nothing and can be invaluable on a cold blustery day. Something else I've been doing for a long time is to bring a small hunting journal. For each hunt, record the date, time of any deer sightings, wind direction, stand location, moon phase, who is hunting with you or anything interesting you may see from the stand. Years later, you will have a wealth of informatin to draw from. And it's a great way to re-live past hunts! I wish you the very best, on your hunting journey!

I very much look forward to following this again for this season! Used to trap quite a bit back in my teens. That was many, many moons ago! Best of luck to you this season!
-
So cool! He even left a blood trail to follow. You definitely got a little hunter there!
-
Always makes me chuckle when I see guy's freak out over a little garter snake.

Never worry about pleasing someone else! That is a legal buck. And a very nice one! The only person you need to ask, "should I have passed this buck" is yourself. There comes a time with some hunters, after killing a number of smaller bucks , that they feel the need to challenge themselves to shoot something bigger than they have in the past. That's fine. Or you just want to put delicious venison in your freezer, and any deer will do. That's fine too! We all hunt for different reasons, goals and challenges. You buy your tag, keep within the game laws and hunt your way. Never feel pressured to do anything that does not make hunting a fun and enjoyable experience for YOU! It's all good!

LOL!...... They blew a 10 point lead! And the Panthers looked sluggish on both sides of the ball. Cam took a lot of shots, and didn't look too good by the end of the game, and wore the stupid towel over his head at the end. C'mon Man! And now they know a continuation of last season will not be handed to them. Kudo's to the Bronco's defense and their young quarterback who played like the champs they are! For football fans, it was a great first game of the season!!! For Panther fans, not so much................But at least the Panthers were all on their feet for the National Anthem.......
