  1. Jerky, trail mix and kit-kat's! Now being diabetic, I tell my wife the kit-kat's are only for when my glucose gets low. But it seems like my glucose gets low A LOT, just sitting there!.......lol......now it's just our little secret!
  2. This has to be one of the best weekends of the year! It's all about the youg hunters and their mentors! Both should be very excited about the hunt together, no matter if a deer is taken or not. It's a time for bonding, making memories that last a lifetime and learning. Just doesn't get much better than that folks. Best of luck to all the young huners and their mentors! You all deserve a big high five!

Hope he likes being out there and chooses to become a hunter! And that you will be his mentor! You will gain twofold, by giving back to hunting by bringing in a new hunter. And by gaining a new hunting buddy, that hunts like you do! Have fun out there and be safe.
  4. I'm wondering how much sleep a certain Dad and Daughter will get tonight, the night before the first big hunt. Hopefully just enough to get out there and make a memory that will last a lifetime! Best of luck to you two! Will be watching for pic's!
  5. Before closing this thread, on behalf of Zac and myself, we are sending you a heartfelt, eternally grateful THANK YOU!!! For those following this, I can tell you that moog is one heck of a stand up guy! He made me an offer I could not refuse, that will benefit Zac and I, much more than himself. It is not very often a man will do something like this for someone he has never met! I write this with tears of joy coming down my cheeks! This is a wish come true for one man, granted by the kindness and generosity of another. This rifle will be shooting deer long after my hunting days are done. Thank you so much my friend.
  6. Wish I had the $cratch, this thread would have been closed long ago.
  7. No way could us hunters in the eastern part of the state, can compete with the "average" size of antlers, in the western part of the state. Just say'in, average to average, I see a difference, even in the posts here. Please tell me if I'm right or wrong. My luck would be better with a blind draw. A 130 class buck in these parts is a buck of a lifetime.
  8. Last year I saw a spike buck running around a flock of turkeys, kicking up his heels and jumping around the turkeys. The birds just pretty much ignored him. He was quite entertaining to me at least!
  9. I'm in for $75.00 C'mon, only need 24 more! A 1 in 25 chance at a rifle like that? I've pee'd away more for less! Lets get this rolling!
  10. 15 min. is not too bad! Better to not rush. Something could go wrong! Anyway, looks like a great spot! Good luck to ya out there!
  11. Wishing you and your son the best of luck, this weekend!
  12. Sign me up too! I'm already hooked!
  13. I made a switch from Bemens to the Decimators this year and could not be happier! Also went from 400s to 350s. Really tightened up my groups.
  14. Congratulations Mike! Way to go! The mums will be safe until the hard frost now!
  15. Very happy you came away unhurt Fantail! Don't hunt much from trees anymore but we do have some ladder stands scattered around the property. Couple weeks ago we moved a ladder stand closer to where we have been seeing a decent buck. Took off the old straps, we always use two, and put these on. Don't think I'll be using it but my buddy will. Always think safety everyone!
  16. First, congrats on the coyote! And 2nd, thanks for your ozonic's system review. I don't believe anyone is looking for a scientific study, just an honest review. I really think you are doing a great job doing that. Keep it going! I'll be following your no BS, observations and reviews. Very interesting.
  17. Should make grinding the burger easier!
  18. You let them happy tears flow. Real men can do that! I'm so pulling for you two! And you are a lucky man my friend!
  19. Ah....sir...? Could you help me? My son is going out to wound a deer in the morning cause he has not bothered to shoot before the season and his arrows may or may not be the correct size. Sir......ah......do you work here?
  20. When you look up "Mature Buck", that's the picture you see! Good luck hunting that monarch of the woods!
  21. What is a little money compared to your well being Paula. I would hate to see anything happen to you! You're one of my favorite people here!!! How bout if I order an extra one and send it to you?
  22. Ordering three today. One each for my grandson, best friend and myself. Excellent idea, cause as I now know, spit happens out there. Even if you are not careless. Even if you have hunted a long time or a short time. Never take it for granted that nothing will happen to YOU. It can! So PLEASE!, everyone, take the time to do at least ONE more thing to keep yourselves safe, while hunting this year. You could, at the very least save yourself some pain. And the ones who care for you the most, will thank you.
  23. Larry, sending good thoughts and a prayer, that your FIL will ride the storm out and be OK.
  24. Just saw that the hurricane probably won't impact NY at all now. After bouncing off the Carolinas it heads out to sea.
  25. Thanks! What a great offer! I got some land in 4H with a DMP. Not sure when I'll be shooting ny bow. But hoping to get my grandson out there. Best of luck to you this season! And keep safe!
