  1. It's an ER Shaw 16" stainless with a target crown. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  2. And Wolc, I'm not advocating against your savior "The Crossbow." We're simply arguing semantics on effectiveness, ease of shooting etc... So no need to try to pack people up for Oregon because suddenly you can start killing deer with an easier implement. You don't seem too tolerant for a religious man... 3. What do you chalk your 50/50 recovery rate up to? No practice? Bad practice? Poor equipment? Poor knowledge of archery? Lousy shot? Poor angles? Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  4. Ok Bro, can you at least explain your standing? You only want crossbow and only if it's allowed on Oct. 1st? Why? You can't have those stipulations for no reason? Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  5. Says the guy with no interest in anything but a crossbow and no insight as to why... Sounds more like you fit into the narrative above and it pinched a nerve for you. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  6. If someone has a legitimate injury then I absolutely have no issues with that. It's the 30yr old guys who are giving up on vertical bows because they take more effort to succeed. But I suppose it's a losing battle to fight, our society is built on easy trophies. I just hate to watch the way hunting is going, now you aren't a hunter unless you carry an Ozonics machine, crossbow and a tool to make a mock deer scrape. We are all guilty of it to some extent I suppose. I enjoy the work and time and frustrations of hunting. If I wanted easy meat I'd save a lot of time and money and get it from Wegmans. 7. I'm not talking legal disabilities. I'm talking the guys who come up with physical excuses as to why they can't compound hunt anymore, the same guys who compound hunted right up until crossbow were interjected into bow season and suddenly they "just can't seem to draw their bows back anymore, so I just use a crossbow." Or, "I don't have time to practice with my compound so I just use the crossbow now." In a lot of instances it's just a cop out to use something easier. I'd rather just hear them say, "I wanted to make it easier to kill deer during archery." There's no need to sugar coat it, that's exactly what it is in most cases. 8. I decided that I needed a designated deer AR-15. I used a 223 once and killed a big doe but wasn't happy with the results. I wanted to stick with an AR-15 due to the short/light configuration. After a bit of research I decided on the 6.8SPC. Finally got her all assembled except for the Rise Armament 3lb trigger which should show up tomorrow. Haven't put any rounds through it yet, but pretty happy with the fit/feel so far. It's NY compliant, I used a Mean Ma maglock. Hopefully it works well on deer, on paper it looks good! 9. Exactly. There is a reason they are so popular, people want the easiest option. The same reason most people don't hunt, it's easier to buy meat at the store. People need to try to defend their position when they have a crossbow to make people think it's still difficult. If you want to use a crossbow and it's legal then go right ahead, I'm not anti crossbow. I also don't want someone to try to convince me it's somehow still as challenging or more than a compound. BS. 10. I bet most people utilize rests when they shoot crossbows too so pretending we are shooting them offhand all of the time may not be accurate. Also, most hunting rifles are 7-9lbs, we shoot them offhand but prefer to rest when possible. There's no option for that with a compound, therefore adding to the fact that the compound is significantly more challenging than a crossbow under almost any circumstance. I was merely stating that some people want to blur the lines between crossbow and compound to make them one in the same, it's simply not the case. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  11. While I think that is debatable in most instances that you onlyneed 2 hours of practice to go hunting and kill deer. I was referring moreso to the people saying that a compound is as easy as a crossbow. And once you get a compound sighted in they are simple to hit whatever you want. Just a lot of misinformation going on with a few posters. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  12. I was thinking the same! I guess all of the reps that Levi Morgan puts in every dayto stay on top is wasted then!? You guys are nutty sometimes. Let's simplify this. Crossbows are easier than any other form of bow, period. Compounds are harder to be proficient at than crossbows and require more skill to successfully hunt with than crossbows, (hence why everybody suddenly developed disabilities in the last few years and now can only crossbow hunt). Traditional archery is much more difficult than the aforementioned styles of archery for a multitude of reasons. Now that we have that cleared up, feel free to keep arguing.... 13. I have 3 now, only had an issue once last year and the camera wasn't transmitting pictures. I need to do an software update on that one apparently but other than that we have 6 of them between 2 of us and overall they work pretty well. No real complaints, I plan to buy more. 14. I've been watching a Killdeer on a nest for a month at work. She laid 2 eggs a month ago, then 2 more eggs a couple of weeks later which I found odd. They hatched early yesterday, were walking this morning. All 4 have hatched on the same day. By this afternoon they were running around like ping pong ball sized ostriches! After they hatched we watched the mother pick up the empty shells and carry them aways and drop them which was really neat. Here's a few pics I got of them this morning. 15. Did a little kayak trolling this morning. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  16. Yea it doesn't add much time at all and fried fish is always better skin on in my opinion! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  17. Kayak fished some big gills today, left a bunch for next time. Scaled them. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  18. Yea Oneida today. Worked 20-30' and couldn't find any takers so went to some 9-10' rocky shoals and did pretty decent on swimbaits. I got my limit in 15 minutes. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  19. Few more. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  20. Few walleyes today, few shorts too. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  21. Yea the temperature and speed is accurate, the 200khz is what they recommend for shallower water readout, it gives you more definition. The 77khz is better for deeper water. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  22. I've been using that sight for 3 years now. I'll never go back to a multipin. The only downside is if it raining or snowing the lens can get covered/hard to see through. Put some scope antifog/window wax on there. Love the sight! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  23. I run the striker 4 on my kayak, it works pretty well, especially for the price. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  24. That's something I've always wanted to try. Any tips? Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  25. I'm impressed that they carry them without breaking them. Taking them to Fisher pups maybe? Turkeys were put here for everything else to eat, doesn't hurt my feelings. Cool photos! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
