  1. Started pretty slow yesterday but hit an hour long frenzy and the fish were chomping! It is probably the coolest bite in NY in my opinion, catching salmon in 20ft of water on thundersticks, casting. Should only get better the next few weeks! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  2. I used them for duck hunting, they work, you can hear a bit better but you couldn't tell what direction it was coming from. It's weird but it worked to protect my hearing so I dealt with it. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  3. I still use them occasionally, you have to buy a quiver that works for them for sure. They're awesome heads, I punched through a shoulder blade and exited 2 ribs from the back at 32 yds on a decent buck. Wicked penetration. The blades are left hand thread too, in case you haven't found that out yet (at least they used to be!). Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  4. You can also braise the shanks and the meat is really tender and almost all connective tissue disappears. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  5. Hit a couple of kings on the SR yesterday swinging spinners. First attempt at this style of west coast salmon fishing and it worked! Now I understand you can go up and floss or snag fish and get much higher numbers but that style isn't for me. But having the kings crush a spinner is pretty cool, most won't touch it, but some will strike it, mostly due to aggression I'd guess. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  6. I recently was able to get some ammo from "Lohman Arms" online and "Bud's Guns." Both will ship to your door, no ffl required. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  7. Where's his mind at then?? Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  8. I planned it out haha. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  9. We saw 4 of them swimming with their heads out of the water today. I'd heard about it before but it's the strangest thing you'll ever see! I caught 2, my buddy missed 1 at the boat and lost a monster bigger than mine at the boat side, it hit topwater too which was awesome. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  10. Great Tiger action today! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  11. I know it's a bit more work but you should put that head on several arrows and be sure they all fly to the same POI. I've shot heads before only to find out I lucked out and some fly great, others are a bit erratic. If nothing else it's for peace of mind. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  12. You don't think there are just as many (or more) deceitful lies on the left!? I've got news for you, politics are dirty, always have been, always will. Nobody gets to that level of government by always doing the right thing, or being fair and honest. Put on your big boy pants and vote for the lesser evils. My wife hates Trump, she's not a Democrat, just hates the man himself. But even though we tend to see different on many humanitarian subjects, she finally admitted the other day that even though she hates Trump, she's not sure she could side with a guy who doesn't know where he is or what he's talking about most of the time. But the left holds him up high and ignores his dementia (or whatever it is). Isn't that also deceitful??? Moreso than some social media post?? Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  13. So it's only Trump's America when it has a negative connotation, right? Isn't it Trump sending law and order into these left cities who claim they don't need it? You left swingers kill me. You don't even have a clue what you stand for anymore. Everything is PC, everything is racist (only when it fits your narrative), everything (negative) is Trump's fault. Grow up, you lost the last election, it's been 4 years and your pity tears are still wet?? Do you think you bashing Trump on a public forum does any good? You believe you are helping your cause? Helping the left? What is it you're looking to achieve other than doing what the only thing the left seems to be good at, getting under people's skin...? Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  14. I'm saying I'd definitely call this a 2 year old. Front shoulders look smaller than in comparison to Hinds. The whole deer doesn't scream anything older than 2 to me anyways. Take the rack out of the picture then ask yourself again. This time of year can be tricky though. He's a nice racked 2yr old if he is in fact 2. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  15. I'm shooting the 100's at about 300fps. You'll love them! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  16. 51lbs is really light so you'd be better off sticking with a fixed head probably, or jumping up in draw weight. The smaller, more compact the head the better they will fly. I want heads that fly straight out to 60, only because then I'm ultra confident at any range out to 60. If you've never shot mechanicals I can see the anxiety of not having exposed blades, but let me reassure you, they work really well on whitetails. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  17. Typically better flight and twice the cutting diameter isn't a benefit? I shoot NAP Spitfire Maxx heads, those are 3 blade over the top deployment with a big cut and still get full penetration on deer. I've shot a lot of deer with those heads and can't think of a single time the arrow didn't pass through. I guess I could say there's no benefit to me for shooting a fixed head. I'm getting complete passthroughs and double the cutting diameter. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  18. I saw 5 different bucks on Nov. 2nd and shot mine at 10:45AM. Nov. 1st was hot too, I was at work and getting pics of bucks cruising all day so I knew where to be the next morning! Thank God for cell cameras! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  19. Team 3 for me Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  20. If I'd have known all of this would've came about I'd have let my bow buck from last year go until this year! He might've grown a 12 or 13th point! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  21. Or they could let us count the inches from your walleyes this fall Rob! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  22. I'm not calling you out on trying it, I just don't really see the practicality I guess. As far as processing the meat cleaner than I can in my garage and kitchen is arguable at best. I'm eager to hear how it goes for you, I bet you try it and revert back to dragging. I suppose I'm putting this into my tree saddle category, interesting but in my research far from ideal. Good luck! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  23. I'm not really seeing a benefit of going through all of the hassle of processing out in the woods in NY. I've dragged deer a LONG ways but it still sounds easier than what some of you are talking about. On paper I'm sure this sounds adventurous but after dark in the rain or snow and wind, freezing cold. Not for me. I'd rather drag, carry, cart that deer back to my garage and do the processing in a clean, manageable environment. Not to mention I'd have to carry even more crap in with me to accommodate this. How far are you guys truly from a road that this is necessary?? I hunt some big blocks (3,000 acres) of state land and am never generally more than a mile from a road or access path... Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  24. Be cooler if it was a doe with antlers in the fawn pic Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  25. I just had my 3rd Micro delivered yesterday, plan on getting it out today! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
