  1. Yea we do it a fair amount. This year has been tough though for some reason. Not a shortage of frogs but a shortage of big frogs. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  2. That's awesome, I'd love the photo opportunity those guys gave you! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  3. 2/3 on tigers today in about an hour, lost the biggest naturally. Didn't take great pics because I wanted to get them back in the water quick, they stress easy. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  4. I got scammed out of an air nailer a couple of months ago. Ended up giving me a tracking number after an email runaround. Said it was delivered, well... I got 5 dust masks in the mail instead. Company will not respond to emails, PayPal did an "investigation" and closed case saying there's not enough information for a case. It seems scams are all the rage lately. A few days later a guy at work said some company sent him dust masks instead of what he ordered also. Makes you wish you could find scammers home addresses so you could deliver a "package" to them... 5. I put a Leupold VX-3 2.5-8x36 on mine. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  6. True, but to us CNY'ers we aren't western NY. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  7. I'm more eastern Ontario (Oswego area) but each affords about the same opportunities and I think growing up near such a great region of fisheries is easy to take for granted. I can limit on walleyes on Oneida in the morning, and spend the afternoon chasing trophy sized trout and salmon. It's hard to beat! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  8. I've only found the Federal 115's locally so I've got a few boxes of that. I'll probably need to order some Hornady online unless mine really likes the fusions. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  9. Unfortunately no not yet, it's all ready to go, just haven't had the opportunity yet and when I do it's 90° so I've been waiting. It's very possible I will in the next few days, I need to at least make sure it functions as it should. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  10. I never weigh fish, I use the chest girth method, my bass are routinely 5-7lbs. Haha sorry Wolc, I had to.... In all seriousness, we catch hundreds of Lake Ontario bass each spring at arguably the heaviest weights they will be (spring) and only a handful go over 5 lbs. LOTS of 4-4.5's. The scale doesn't lie. 11. Yep, I'm with Rob, sounds like she's sucking air somewhere. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  12. Just because it was a world record deer at 4.5 doesn't mean it had reached it's potential either. It most likely hadn't yet. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

    Spinner building

Yea it's always cool making your own. It is cheaper than buying them but the initial investment can be a bit pricey. The wire bender I just got was $130 but well worth it to produce professional quality wraps and loops. I'll probably throw some on eBay when I have way too many haha. I've got about $300 in components now too so if you're only using a handful of spinners a year it's easier to just buy them for sure. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  14. Started the prep work for this Salmon/steelhead/pike/trout season with some spinner making. Just got a Twistech wire bender and a shipment of components. We do pretty well swinging these through current and casting in staging areas, nothing like a salmon or Steelie smoking a spinner! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

    Fish Stress

On a few occasions I have put some ice in the livewell with the water, it seems to really help the fish stay alive longer when it's really hot. Although I'm not sure if it helps them if you then release them. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  16. 4 here Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  17. Update, just installed a Rise Armament Rave 140 3lb flat trigger. Best $100 I've ever spent, came with anti walk pins which is impressive for the price! Anyone looking to upgrade from a standard mil spec trigger should buy one of these! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  18. Kill him! He won't even see it coming! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  19. Getting buck pics all summer is really exciting but in my experience it's the same as others have stated. Once those bucks shed velvet they typically move to a different area. They'll still cruise through occasionally but not on a regular basis. I was getting 8-10 bucks per night on community scrapes this past October and it all changed in just a few days. Most of those bucks haven't been seen since. Found a few of their sheds this spring, 3/4 of a mile away. The buck I killed last November was the biggest we got on camera and luckily he staked my area out as his own and it payed off for me. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  20. If it's not the same deer then he has the same genetics for great brow tines! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  21. I know. I wanted to like it, hence why I bought a second one. Wasn't in the cards for me apparently. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  22. I don't have an inaccurate rifle! Those ones don't stay long! The two I had the most trouble with were TC Prohunters. Owned one in 7mm Mag and one in 7mm-08, couldn't get either to group tighter than 2.5-3". Long gone! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  23. Not to keep this alive but.... How do you estimate how many quart sized bags of meat you'll get from measuring a deers neck? And how much volume it leads to vs weight?? Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  24. I'm going to see how the Hornady 120's group and go from there. I've got a few boxes of Federal 115 fusions to zero the scope with. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
