  1. LOL happened to me also. Was ready to call DEC but like you, got all the buttons pushed. FT
  2. X2 Bot these last year and best boot I've worn in 60yrs hunting. Doubles up ice fishing too. I tried something last year and give this a try folks. The closed foam hot seat are unreal when you stand on one. Creates a insulating barrier between the ground and your foot/boot. I now carry any oversized one to stand on only. FT :-) https://kenetrek.com/collections/pac-boots/products/10-northern
  3. As has been said, they are denned by now. The areas in Delaware county along the east and main branches of the Delaware river have lots of timber rattlers. Rocky out crops are sure to have them and also along the railroad tracks. Gotta keep an eye open when fishing up there. FT
  4. Got one on the ground this year and that's where you will find me anymore. At 71yo, I don't worry about he fall. LOL FT
  5. Hancock here I come..................GOOD LUCK folks & post some pics. Be safe & FO, FO, FO. FT
  6. I think I paid $180 for the rifle in 1982 LOL FT
  7. Can I asked what that cost? I looked up just the trigger cost and it was about $153.99. Thxs FT https://timneytriggers.com/replacement-trigger-for-the-ruger-m77-tang-safety/
  8. Will be somewhere near Hancock 4W. Weather looks to moderate for Saturday and I hope it puts hunters in the woods. Last few years not many guys around...we shall see. Good luck and be safe...wear FO. FT
  9. Thxs Steve, I'll wait until season is over but I will give it a try. If not successful then it goes to gun shop. I'm a big DIY guy, so I got to try. FT
  10. I have a 1980 Ruger77 with the tang safety. My trigger pull is heavy imo but the manual says DO NOT reduce it, but you can increase it. ??? If you can increase it why can't you lighten it up?? Anyone ever do this with this model/type Ruger? Any info is appreciated, thxs. FT
  11. I am a bolt rifle guy and depending on the weather I will use a Ruger77 (wood stock) .257 Roberts w/120gr Nosler partition or Ruger77 (synthetic black/SS) .270Win w/130gr Nosler partition. The partitions have never let me down, there the only bullet coming out of my deer rifles. Oh, and both have Leupold tubes on them. FT
  12. MY Dad wasn't a hunter, but all the German neighbors were. Driving was the only game in town. If you were a stander and had the shots, you emptied the gun. Who tag what was not important. I miss those day immensely, but thankful I DID experience them. You always, always seen deer and No cold feet. The locals would see us on a road and park and run in the woods. We were smart enough to have the drivers line up on the opposite side before the drive began. A the predeterimed start time, the drivers would do a 180 and leave the poachers on he wrong side of the road. LOL We always got a good laugh over that. FT ( PS: I am 71 years young. )
  13. If its a short barrel I'd vote 10. It;s not the caliber that makes a good brush rifle but the total rifle length. And must be .30cal or larger. FT
  14. No patent issues, lol. I hope this helps someone. Hey maybe the Mrs would let you "use" hers???????????????????
  15. OK guys..no laughing please. I live in a rural area and once a year my township and adjacent townships have annual clean up's. I, like many, drive the roads taking inventory on whats be dis-guarded. I picked up an iron board and made a mobile shooting table. I added 2 inch PVC pipe lengths on all four legs for stability and I got a very stable shooting bench that adjusts to heights easily. Add a 5gal bucket for a seat and start shootin'. I'll take a pic when the sun comes up and give you a look...and it was "free". LOL FT
  16. Yea, lot's of bucks are dead before rifle. Just had to add as I'm just a rifle guy.
  17. Rule I've always followed & just about all hunters I know.
  18. https://www.sausagemaker.com/Default.asp https://www.sausagemaker.com/sausage-stuffing-machines-s/2163.htm Look at this vendor, he has just about everything. I don't stuff things but use vendor for all my grinder needs.

Good luck to you and to all. FT
  20. But when they yard-up in winter they will stay put for weeks. This snow isn't deep enough, they will still move, imo FT
