  1. Looks like you are going to end one spot outside of cam prizes for the trail cam brackets. Pretty good run for you though!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Premise sold Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  4. I still have one left. Good cam. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. FWIW, Grampys grandson and I have almost the same exact bracket...right up to the championship. He goes one way, I go another. Could be fun!
  6. TF - check your PM to enter the brackets!
  7. Starting to see more noise they covet Darnold. I think they trade up to #2 or again w/Cleveland with #4. As of right now they have enough picks to move up to #4 w/o giving up next year's #1. Going to #2 would require giving up the 2019 pick.
  8. Super Bowl pool was a blast - still need to cash TF's check, though! LOL. $10 per sheet. Event pays top 10% of sheets. Prizes from Browning, Moultrie, Scoutguard, and more. PM for details.
  9. DKS if you look at their 10K and annual reports are beginning to minimize how they document revenue via segments. The truth is, about 8 years ago, their hunting and fishing segment was growing at a clip outpacing growth in their bread and butter - shoes. At that point DKS went all in, bought naming rights for F&S, then began a plan of expansion into specialty stores for hunting, fishing, and outdoors gear to compete with Cabelas, Gander and BPS. At that time, Cabelas and BPS were being leveraged very heavily by a trend of having gargantuan stores, with each new store becoming more amazing than the next; however, financially, the revenue per square foot was dwindling. Industry practice started to show that smaller, more condensed stores with smaller square footage resulted in a higher revenue per sq/ft, a KPI within the brick and mortar industry. DKS realized they perfectly timed the market to launch stores in the new model (if you notice F&S is about the same sq footage as the newer Cabelas and non-flagship BPS stores). This would allow them to leverage and scale up quickly as BPS and Cabelas fought the bloated fixed and utility costs of larger store footprints, and moving themselves to these smaller sizes. For some reason, and I am not sure exactly why, but as soon as DKS did this, they starting experiencing de-leveraging of their outdoors sales. Growth halted and contraction began. DKS was heavily invested into something that all of a sudden became a drag on the business. They had to forge ahead for business purposes because they had already invested in space and were "pot-committed." Fast forward to now a few years later and that segment is still shrinking for them. I believe this choice is two-fold - one, it minimizes risk that could be big from a small revenue source (AR sales and overall firearms sales). Second is, this may be the perfect narrative to build around either an exit strategy, a spin-off, sale, or reduction in segment investment. Add to that taking a stance to reflect values...and it's a no-brainer for DKS. Take the hit from backlash now while the stock is being hammered anyhow, it'll get buried in noise, and maybe they resurface with less segment focus or no segment at all. Their other segments are doing OK, save for online competition.
  10. I’ve been to a few. Definitely hit or miss. Can’t say I’ve had good meals at the last two or three. I have been to the original Hooters In FL and you can tell that’s the “mothership”. Not much different business model than Twin Peaks or the Tilted Kilt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Made it home

I see that trend, too. That said, I have seen a few bucks with the features taxidermists are over-incorporating. Maybe four or five that I can recall over all of my years. Of all the bucks I've seen them on from the stand it's almost always been early bow season with the thinner coat or the ~10 days between pre-rut ending and aggressive mature buck posturing during the border of seeking and chasing. This brings in the muscular and swollen neck scenario where the definition is easier to see and max body weight before they burn calories more. Saw one like that this year, one in 2015, and the others are spaced out over the prior 25 seasons. I don't any one of those five deer came in under 130" either (estimate or ground check) or less than five years old. My shoulder mounts are 50-50 October and November/Dec. You can practically ID which ones are October just by the cape variations.
  12. Have fun. Gun hunting is certainly exciting, but bow...that's an experience. Watching an arrow sink into the pocket of a whitetail or other game animal....nothing compares.
  13. How do you make that statement and not provide said proof, lol?
  14. Companies will ship it. Done it plenty of times. There are two counties or so where you can spray it but have to limit application. Any other detail is bad info. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. and he holds on for the third quarter win...
  16. @grampy he is close to winning third quarter in the pool!
  17. Running a new twist on Super Bowl Squares... Prizes galore. Fly Eagles Fly...that's all I have to say about that.
  18. Tractor Supply Complany doesn't carry cleth. Keystone does and is probably the easiest place to buy it. Rural King found in Ohio will also have a good deal on it but in-store only. Cleth is not illegal here, but has limited use in some downstate communities.
  19. Cam is new in box. $97.50 via PayPal COUS. Cam takes excellent video at 1080P. Has a nice viewer screen. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. People have to make the decision best for them. 10% seems like crummy forecasting, but 10% is a lot more than 0%. I get the shot every year. We bring in nurses to admin them at work, so no reason not to get it since I'm beyond the concern of whether such a shot does harm to me. If I die, at least I am trying.
  21. Get rid of them. For alkaline, look at AC Delco 100 packs, Amazon Basic 100 packs, or Harbor Freight's in-house alkalines. All have served me well at a lower per pic cost basis. Job Smart @ TSC have been very very hit or miss for me. Duracell and Energizer alakalines are not as good on a cost basis. I have been using AC Delco for about a year-year and a half now with good results. Sometimes I get them as low as $0.16 per AA. Remember lithiums will also go from full power to dead in a short period of time - which is why they can appear to have good life left according to the battery meter in cam, and then be dead upon next check. Seeing power fluctuations in lihtiums usually means they are about to go in the near future; although our recent extreme cold can impact that as well. Lithium handles our normal winter weather better, but even it is vulnerable to the arctic blasts we received. They offer up full power to the device unlike alkaline which has a draw curve down over time. NiMH are nice, and I run them in some cams; however, certain cams can have voltage cut off challenges. Brownings and Moultries seem to have some challenges running niMH.
  22. I'd be moving to an external set up w/500 per day. Lithium at that rate gets expensive.
  23. Fun show, but it's kind of repetitive. the prior incarnation seemed to be more in line with deals to be had. I've found pricing on stuff there to be astronomical now on 80% of the things for sale. I used to go there for deals, to see what's new, etc. Now I'll go once every other year or third year just because. NRA has done a good job, but it seems to be too commercialized now. If you go, stop at the Hamburg Cabelas, and also eat at Aroogas. Best wings outside of western NY.
