  1. Port City Optimal batting clean up. Then a few hours of layover flight and off to hotel for a meeting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I'm heading to ATL Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Fat Tire first up to bat. Sam Adams Octoberfest, port city optimal, or dc braus ipa. Which one next? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Sitting in Dulles for the next two hours and 45 minutes thanks to American delays. I have a $12 voucher for food and beverage for the stupidity that is their logistics. What should I do? I have a corporate card so no need for the food. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Looks like the macho man. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. A big ram is probably #1 on my list. Not sure why but it is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Is your tin foil broken? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. That bucks has to be 5 or 6 now if that is the same one you've posted the past two-three seasons.
  9. That doesn't answer the conservation issue though - deer still need shot on all that land he goes by in that hour drive. I think that's equally the issue.
  10. Grow - thanks but no thanks. Have a good day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. My last post on the subject - only to follow up on an earlier post I made about the DEC ALREADY INCENTING landowners for rights to private ground for fishing. http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/9922.html People can tell themselves stories "oh it can't and won't work" for landowners to be incented. Give me a break, we've already proven it works. We already do it for conservation/sporting purposes for fishing. The same degree of lawyer focus would be paid on a fishing or a hunting incentive/access situation because there is inherent risk with both; one more than the other doesn't lessen the degree of "lawyering" on the matter. And, in conclusion, the implication that people should simply "work harder" on public land just further demonstrates how little they grasp of the actual topic and the crux of the conversation. It really is telling.
  12. While I don't have a current lease, I'm simply privately incenting the landowner when I do. Lest I remind you, that you just complained about people not coming up to you to offer to offset some tax burden. Grow - there's no point in conversing further with you on this issue because we won't agree.
  13. Grow - you can't even comprehend what I wrote. You associate the quarry with the first parcel when very clearly I wrote that it is associated with the second. This is why it is hard to have any dialogue with you. The spin is mind-boggling. I'm done entertaining the stories you tell yourself. You only read and hear what you want.
  14. I argue it is - but you see different. I am with Padre on this one as to a real challenge to conservation (with deer hunting specifically) being that private lands are being locked up and creating an imbalance with the public lands available. Incenting landowners to open their lands up to hunting is precisely supporting the current wildlife conservation model because it'll allow for the necessary management of the resource. The DEC has specifically said that this is one of their top barriers to effectively managing the resource (conservation). While I don't like a lot of things the DEC does or takes action on - they're spot on with this. Monroe County has a bare minimum of public lands to hunt deer on. Just because it is "city" or "suburb" compared to your area doesn't make it any less deserving of the same conservation end goals and efforts. There's a difference between incenting and mandating. We incent people to buy their homes (FHA, tax credits), we incent people to buy a better door or windows for their house (to reduce energy consumption), we incent people to buy electric cars and solar panels. We incent people to start businesses, even female owned ones. We incent farmers to not crop their lands. And we're worried about who would pay to incent landowners to open up their lands to hunting so the resource can be better managed for our generation and future generations of hunters? Cry me a river. I can think of a billion other less productive ways for our tax dollars to be spent.
  15. Grow - We hunt in two such places. One place borders over 1,000 acres of non-hunting ground - opening day of regular season is about as quiet as quiet gets from the typical volleys of gunshots in the morning. The second, is an area of around 40 acres that four hunters hunt surrounded by three parcels (one large private land owner, one corporation, one farm) totaling well over 2,500 continuous (minus the ~40 in the middle) acres of agricultural land and/or quarry land. That area around the 40 is hunted by three hunters.
  16. Pretty sure the DEC already incents landowners for access to creeks/streams for fishing.
  17. Utilitech if you can still find them are solid - I think Lowe's discontinued them, but they're best for general use. Harbor Freight is pretty reliable (orange label), and the DG alkaline (not the heavy duty) are also fine. I am testing the AC Delco which have the best cost per battery. So far so good. I'm about 50% of the way through the 120 batteries and I haven't had one test bad yet. I'm running them on my Moultrie Traces which have very good power draw. They are made by Powermax, which is a known name in the industry. Job Smart haven't done well for me, but I know a few people who run them fine. They're not as meticulous as I am and like the convenience factor of being able to get them at TSC. They've never once complained about them though.
  18. I haven't had the best experience with Job Smart AAs. Some people have, but I've tested them a couple times and they came up short for me. A lot of times it's just a quality control thing - I could have had bad batches, etc.
  19. At a minimum you are reducing the performance of the camera and at maximum, you could have issues with the alkalines being asked to ramp up the amount of draw on them, causing leaks. Rechargeable run on a lower voltage. That is why cam directions say not to mix battery types.
  20. Sometimes the tray can make intermittent contact with the camera. That's probably what happened.
  21. I'm testing the AC Delco now. So far so good. The others are all good buys. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. AC Delco on eBay for $24...120 batteries. Lowes utilitech (hard to find right now). 100 for $24. Harbor freight orange batteries with coupon/sale is 4.99 for 24 batteries. All else fails the dollar general alkaline work well for the $$$. No point in overpaying for name brand. Not all, but some house brands will compete close to the name brands. Instead of spending $0.30 per battery, you spend $0.195 and get 90% of the lifespan of the Duracell or energizer alkaline. You know how many batteries I need to change my cams out once? 300. You better believe I am going to find a cheap reliable source of power, lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. You are not mixing the batteries in the same cam are you??? I wouldn't do that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Hbd!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Woke up at 6:45 to shotguns going off....lol. Kind of hard to complain, but still.
