  1. I got Sitka gear and gift cards. I am happy.
  2. Got one cam in hand available!
  3. not sure why tapatalk does this sideways stuff sometimes.
  4. Yes and No. Black IR isn't something that is cost effective for me - cost goes up high enough one is better getting a Code Black or a Spartan.
  5. It is probably shed. I've picked up sheds during MZ season before.
  6. That is a ton of good bucks to have targets at and I immediately thought "excuses" LOL. Glad to see someone beat me to it. Not as easy shooting deer like it is downstate, huh? In all seriousness, it is impressive to see how deer can sneak through the cracks to live another day...we had our fair share of that this year too. I am sure we will try a get-together this off-season.
  7. I fought too many years before moving to hevi. Should have done it a long time ago.
  8. 30 seems to be the max with both of those loads in a 20g 500 we use too. Id probably try to find the most shot i could in a load sine you dont want to move to heavier loads.
  9. Cam has in the woods time of around 3mos. Comes with manual, strap, and extra battery pack for longer field life (this is new as I have not used that). 70 shipped COUS.
  10. I am of the same mindset. The only thing that puzzles me is how states like WI and other short gun season places, hunters there don't seem to have the same issues with getting the time off.
  11. This is not productive. I am sure he is well aware of the benefits of shooting earlier in the calendar year and will do so next season. You obviously are an expert in ballistics and shooting given your past. Can you provide him with some guidance if he supplies the data inputs needed?
  12. Big difference between 35 and 100, and 47 and 75. The former being nearly 3x the sight in distance. With a basic load of a 250 gr selection and two 50 gr pellets or similar loose ragging holes at 47 yds an inch high isn't going to result in an unethical shot at 75 yds according to my convictions. Others here seem to believe that this guy needs to be drawn and quartered. Everyone wants to be ethical (most normal people), but sometimes you just need to play within the rules/situational context. Everyone can say they should have done this or that before hand. I haven't yet met a hunter who can't come up with something he or she wished she would have done better or different before/during the season to get better results. It's really easy to Monday morning quarterback other people, but the guy has a 47 yd target to hit. Let's get him the best possible answer - other than you shouldn't hunt you unethical bastard (so to speak).
  13. And every state has the same problem. Idiots in every state, so to speak. It's like saying people from a certain geographical region are less likely to enter in the books. They have nothing to base this on other than their really freaking small personal observation, which is much more likely to the be the same if you were to pick up and move to Athens, Ohio, or Buffalo County, WI, or Zone 5 in Iowa...there is nothing compelling hunters like a unified conspiracy to not submit to the books within a certain area. People think their area is always exception to the rule.
  14. Night IR images under-value a rack. Pretty consistently. Day images depend on cam angle and deer/rack angle. So, its a mixed bag.
  15. It'll be interesting to see when exactly that first real winter snow hits. Ticks are going to be horrible next year. Definitely liking the furnace not running much yet.
  16. Resolution is the same via text or email. Email might send the pic a little bigger but resolution doesnt change. The file size is limited by the same size limits.

    Buck Range

If you make a formerly safe area unsafe routinely, the buck will make changes. But, the occasional bump, and the buck lives to safety, that buck often will come right back. The spot where it was, allowed it to be safe, even in a time when danger approached, it allowed for egress. That is what a buck wants...safety - and when safety is compromised, the ability to get away from danger unscathed.
  18. Got a few cams in. Let me know if you are interested. Can offer deal with SIM included or w/o SIM.
  19. Figured I would shoot some more does since all my hunting partners cant see deer or cant hit them. Sheesh. Shot a pair. Not a bad year. Shutting it down for the season.
  20. My wife is from Newark and her whole family resides there. Horrible to hear. Will you be hunting at all this weekend? Seems kind of crazy but sometimes a hunt can help.
