  1. Harrisburg is a good show to cure the cabin fever. With the NRA running it, they have a good rundown of firearms manufacturers repping. Bow area seems to be more of the retailers/independent shops with a few "reps" mixed in from the companies. Wish there were more manufacturers actually running booths for non-firearms things like stands, cams, hunting clothing, etc. What is real nice is you can stay overnight, burn through the show in one day (if you are real fast), and also hit up Cabelas and the Bass Pro that are within short drives of the show. Cabelas is about 40 minutes or so away, and that is their heavyweight store - biggest in the chain I think. If you can do two nights, it's actually pretty fun because you can spend more time at the show on a more manageable pace, then even add in a Lancaster Archery visit, too. Plus, Aroogas has wings that rivals what we have here in wNY. Seems crazy, but their wings are good.
  2. I won $4. Maybe I should give a tenth of a penny to ever member?

    Elite recurve

I always think if you get to using wood arrows, you should probably be knapping your own broadheads. Nice bow, ouch on the price.
  4. There hasn't been a great sale yet, some good ones, but not great. I'd be surprised if you see the 2015 Browning models on sale for deep discounts any time soon. Browning seems intent on managing their prices - some companies don't care about the fire sales of their older lines. Reconyx, Bushnell (for their trophy cam line), and now Browning seem to be focused on keeping older model prices high. The best deal I see is the Recon Force FHD for $105-110 on Ebay. That is a pretty good price overall for that cam. The Moultrie A7i was available for a week or so around $60 and that is cheap for blackflash. Not the world's greatest performer, but for blackflash, it could be a cam to consider at that price.
  5. Love the difference in the early to late season coats.
  6. Awesome, thanks for sharing the mount. Great hunt and adventure all the way through to the wall.
  7. Two scenarios I hate hunting in the rain: 1. It's just above freezing 2. I only have doe tags left Shooting a lifetime buck is hard for some people. Others, they can go right at it, just like before. If I were to choose who to pull up a chair with and talk deer hunting with (assuming same locale and hunter age/seasons) - the guy with the lone 200" or the guy with ten bucks between 120 and 150"....I'm picking the latter.
  8. Lightning striking the ground once is an anomaly. Lightning repeatedly hitting the same spot time and time again isn't.
  9. Shot in bow by guys from vt or nh. Forgot which. Dont get me wrong deer is real big but it was nowhere near 200. I want to say it came in 150 to low 160s. Other pics show it better. This one suffers from a "longarm" type view.
  10. Most HC contracts involve payouts even when terminated. Only exceptions tends to be questionable first time HC or really crummy retreads. Hot prospect first time HC and established HC that are hot typically include payout deals because the market allows it. Only 32 HC jobs.
  11. It is staggering to think of how much money one would need to spend to run out when you start getting in to the upper 100M and 1B range. First step would be getting a lock box at a bank with two signatories (my wife) required to access, and then an accountant and lawyer to best handle the trust or other structure needed to make my name as little known as possible. Then change phone and address info as already stated. Basically have the ducks in a row before claiming. I'd probably work long enough to be able to implement a succession plan for my department because I enjoy the people I work with. Then I'd have to find something engaging to fulfill my life. Probably a giant charity that involves getting kids into hunting and fishing and serving on boards of other career and health focused organizations that I believe are in it for the right reasons. A lot of my fortune would be spent on this. But, there is a part of me that would excess it up - no longer the hookers and blow answer - but probably experiencing the world's exotics and cultures. Be in the Caribbean a lot, travel. Buy something really overpriced that was part of history and put it in my small hometown's museum so they can benefit from it, etc. Not going to lie though, after I've locked that ticket up...I'd probably have one heck of a hangover the next couple days. Probably won't be a day I'll ever have a drink that tastes that good.
  12. I like that Rex is a players coach, but ownership really should have went a different direction when the HC opening existed. They should have #1 made Schwartz the highest paid DC in the league to keep him there in the DC role and #2 should have hired a veteran offensive mind for a HC that has proven an ability to work with team management to go get his "guy" at QB and then develop him. Schwartz might not have been the best HC in the league, but he was on the verge of a scheme paired up perfectly with player abilities that could have dominated for 3-4 years. The Bills D this year is a textbook example of why schemes need to be matched to the players (or vice versa).
  13. As with all good things, it ends eventually. I have a few more cams coming, but after they are sold, that is it. Thanks to all who have bought them. I certainly didn't get rich but glad to help people enter the cell cam world. I am not sure how many are left in this last lot that is coming to me. I believe I will have either 1 cam or 2 that is not spoken for at the moment. Let me know, as always.
  14. Spartan is a camera brand. Not a manufacturer.
  15. Cell cams (thus far) are slightly difference use. The full size pics certainly have value, but its rare for me to really want to pull them to look. The value is in the pics sent IMO. I know I have a couple really awesome pics that were sent that I would like to look at full size, but I can wait until I feel like pulling the cam.
  16. It depends if you modified the pics per trigger. I usually send cams out at 1 photo or 2 photos per trigger. Cam will send first pic in a series. Some triggers will not send, either due to a dropped connection with network (like a dropped call), or a triggered event before the cam has finished uploading to the network. That is why I do not suggest putting the cams at a low delay interval.I include a 4 or 8 GB card for each cam and they should hold well over a thousand pics. When you delete or move them, try just moving the pics in the dcim folder and leaving the gsm file. I would NOT format the card each time since the cell cams prefer their own cards.
  17. There is a start and stop time on these cams but pretty sure that wasnt messed with setting up your cams.Thats alot of pics in a short period!
  18. C'mon man, You couldn't string this out any longer? LOL.
  19. If it'll help kill more overpopulating does, the DEC will work it in. I was lucky enough to cover a company profile for them several years and they are nice people. I got to go into their "skunkworks" and a lot of the big bore stuff on the market now was prototyping and I got to play around with a lot of them. They reverse engineer nearly every competitor offering to better understand it and benefit from it. It was a genuinely positive experience and I hope they have success with it in some fashion. I could honestly see value in it in urban zones when there is a legit need for ease of use implements when access prevents necessary harvests.
  20. Spartan's app is heads and shoulders above them at this point. I also notice that they didn't say anything about the ability to go with larger size images - which the Spartan can control remotely. I was kind of shocked by that, as that feature exponentially improves the usefulness of a cell cam IMO. I do like the cases though - water issues likely a thing of the past.
  21. I should also mention the cases look a lot like Spartans...(for Covert).
  22. 80 and 120 for the Muddy cams. Clearly price point cuts were made in the case and likely in the internals. I bet the cheap one has horrible night illumination. I could be wrong, but typically that is the case with low end cams that tout more forward technology (black flash). It's 20% cheaper than the lowest retail blackflash last year. That's a lot. Hopefully Covert takes a big step forward this year - they've been stagnant on everything but the development of the Blackhawk and getting the certifications from ATT and VZW. They are way behind Spartan on the App/website which is nothing short of impressive.
