I would hold out after downing the first tom/jake. A second bird doesn't mean nearly as much to me as the first one. It'd have to be a stud of a bird to let loose.

Finally doing it.....moving to Rochester area

I will say that Wayne is feast or famine. On a whole, the county is the sleeper in the state. But there are voids where the quality of deer hunting can be dismal. Seems a bit funny, actually. I'm sure other places are like that, but I've never seen that disparity county-wise before. -

Not all that hard to do. Just like anything else, a little work, and you will reap the rewards. -
All of my areas have seen a drop off - Wether Wayne, Liv., Monroe, or Yates Co. All of my hunting spots where turkey had been reliably stable 3-4 years ago....are very shakey now. Rarely have more than one very small flock to hunt on some of the properties. And, a few no longer have birds there in season when there were in the past. I haven't heard multiple birds firing off on the same ground in 2 seasons.

Wayne co is a sleeper county in ny for deer and turkey. One of the best. -

Again maybe its just me, but now you can hunt in archery season without an archery license. That is ridiculous. Goes to show even the govt and enforcers belive one thing and do another. It cant be an archery implement if you dont need an archery tag. But you need a gun tag.....says alot in my book. And im a fence sitter who owns an xbow. That really makes me rethink my stance.
-
I think the other way around. Many likely have the ml tag already since its the fastest growing license in the state. No need to buy anything else if you own a ml. So much for new entrants into archery...if its going to open doors to people who dont bowhunt, then those people dont have the archery tag and a good chunk probably have the mz tag already.
-
Think about it...they are losing license money by not requiring the archery tag.
-
So pretty much even the dec/govt believes the shoulder fired crossbow is more of a gun than a bow based on the license slot? Interesting.

Had to show you what a buck looks like up close. Consider me a good friend for making such a sacrifice.

Good thing I passed him.

You haven't been to southern Ohio much. Talk about mountains to hump. Ask Potter about the sheer cliff he scaled to kill his buck this year, lol.

DON'T COMPLY! YOU'LL HAVE PLENTY OF COMPANY.

While I suspect the registration rate it low, its not like the article is giving any concrete evidence. Just hearsay, unfortunately. -

Everyone wants children. Problem is most people shouldn't be breeding. Same thing with your PMs. -

Evolved Habitats, America's #1 brand of wildlife nutritional products developed to attract and hold wildlife, introduces agroundbreaking technology that is sure to significantly, increase the potential of your deer attractants - Glo-Cote Ultraviolet Enhancement Technology. Research has proven whitetails can see well into the ultraviolet (UV) light spectrum - a wavelength invisible to the human eye - and it is widely acknowledged whitetails use this to their advantage to navigate in dark and low-light situations. Evolved Habitats' Glo-CoteTM ultraviolet additive was developed to enable deer to "see" scents, attractants or foods. Evolved Habitats patented Glo-CoteTM is an ultraviolet additive that emits a visible neon-blue "glow" deer can see, night or day, piquing their curiosity and drawing them in. Standard attractants such as feeds, minerals, powders, sprays, blocks and scents require animals to physically walk downwind in a very narrow scent corridor (as small as two degrees) to discover the attractant. In contrast, products treated with Evolved Habitat's Glo-CoteTM emit a 360-degree visual queue (a neon blue glow) that grabs the animal's attention. Like Pavlov's dog, upon the discovery of the attractant, whitetails are rewarded with a positive experience, associating the neon-glow with food. Deer actively seek out these ultra-visible sites repeatedly. Being rendered visually attractive in 360-degrees, treated products or enhanced sites are 180-times more likely to be discovered by animals over traditional, untreated attractants. Exhaustive field-testing has proven that areas and products (i.e., food plots, bait stations, feeders, agricultural crops) treated with Evolved Habitat's Glo-CoteTM are discovered and frequented within 24 hours of application (some even sooner) and receive significantly greater traffic and usage when compared to untreated sites and products. Evolved Habitats' Glo-CoteTM has been tested nationwide and proven effective in every region of the country. Additionally, areas and products treated with the revolutionary Evolved Habitats' Glo-CoteTM receive significantly more daylight traffic when compared to untreated areas. Additionally, research has shown that Evolved Habitats' Glo-CoteTM treated products are consumed in higher volume than untreated products, helping whitetails grow bigger and healthier. Evolved Habitats' Glo-CoteTM can also be used to "activate" scarcely used food plots or bait sites, allowing hunters to steer deer to specific locations by treating crops, native vegetation (browse) or other food sources. For 2014, Glo-CoteTM UV Enhancement Technology will add to the attraction of Evolved Habitats' Dirt BagTM, Dirt BlockTM, Deer CaneTM RTH and Deer CaneTM Apple Mix and is sure to change the way humans and deer look at deer attractants and supplemental feeding.

You are making zero sense. Zero. Didn't have answers to what? Your lunatic ravings? Having discord with you has been compared to a three year old, a hypocrite, a used car salesman, a fluffer, and more on this thread. Oh wait, that was just what I thought, minus the three-year old part. Your self perception doesn't appear to reflect what the masses here believe. When that happens, I usually re-assess my POV. -
LOL. I've been around xbows for a while. When I lived in Virginia several club members used them and I got to shoot them alot. Plus, my FIL uses one when we go to Ohio. I bought one more or less just for the sake of owning one. I can see myself using one on turkey (once legal) or when in a ground blind. For some reason, I get annoyed using my bow in a ground blind. Don't know why. Xbow will probably see action in those situations. That and when going to Ohio with a buddy, this can serve as the back-up bow for both. Instead of bringing four bows (yes, I'm not getting caught with a busted bow and no hunting), we bring two and the xbow now, I guess.
-
And, my crossbow arrived yesterday. I haven't gotten around to shooting it yet. I feel dirty.

Youth season will take place as last year from last I heard. People still aren't happy about it who were against it and people are who were for it, but its not being dropped from what I know via my contacts at the agency thus far.
