Gates are more effective with trucks/cars going down lanes than ATVs. I've repaired enough gates to know that they aren't a solution in themselves, but can help over time to keep the lazy ones out.

Rural noise pollution? Those of us normal people don't call it noise pollution to begin with - that's most certainly a yuppy term, like assault rifle. The country has chainsaws, 18 wheelers, tractors, dogs, mowers, skidders, fertilizer trucks, bonfires and the associated noises, as well as guns, air drills, hammers, etc. and so on and so forth. I have a damn pair of goats cornering up behind my property and I hear them every morning. I supposed I could complain about that pollution as it riles up my dogs when they hear them. But you know what? I'm not a walking va-j, I live in a rural area and expect such sounds to take place. If I were living in the ciy again, I'd expect thumping stereos in passing cars, people yelling at all hours of the day/night, etc. It is what it is. Certainly better than dealing with city-related sounds and the supposed whackos that complain about "noise pollution."

Yes, it is in my mind the perfect hunting bow. I have two of them, so I won't be without one! -
Nice! Pike (and turkey to a lesser degree) is one game species I can just never do well with. I've caught 3-4 of them in my life and believe me, I've tried to catch more.

Excalibur - even another model, if you want longevity and the ability to easily work on it. Other than being cost-conscious for short term, I don't see why anyone would god the cam'd route.

I wonder how ECOs would deal with it? I honestly would think they'd let it slide, or at least most. Seems like a hard one to pursue from a legal POV - sure it may not have one now, but it could have easily been shot off. It looks like a duck, walks like a duck. Sure, the beard is the determinor, but I don't know how many ECOs would not see the spirit of the law in this situation. Arguably the hunter may have helped out the "herd" by removing such an animal from the environment (similar to say an albino deer). Obviously you did the right thing.

I don't like the way your taxi explained it.He should have said - don't do a straight form, it won't look good at all. One form I really really like is the curious alert form. It's relatively new (a few years old), but I really really like it. It's a Revolution form.

Isn't a regular bow legal for small game? I think it is.

Oh, its coming. Just a matter of when the DEC wants to push the button. 8H is going to be one of them. Too many deer, too much private with little public, and not alot of access = 1st in line for the early season.

Allowing a weapon in archery season but not including it archery class is one of the worst ideas I've seen come out of the DEC in a while. I don't care about logistics, or what makes sense given the scenario. Somtimes an issue is black and white - it rarely is - but this time, it is. IF the weapon is to be used in archery season, it is an archery tool. Just because it is easier to do one way or the other for the classes doesn't mean it is the right way to go. All this does is continue to fan the flames that an xbow isn't an archery piece of equipment - I mean if it was, it'd be in the archery class. It's quite hypocritical in my opinion. And, to be honest, I'm rather perplexed the Crossbow Coalition posts on here don't seemed to be bothered by the fact that it isn't in the archery class. If I were one of them, I'd be yelling at the top of my lungs to make it included instead of the regular course or any other method - and for lots of reasons. But, this is the same group that wanted us to thank AC. All the CC is, is the NYBH group, but on the other end of the spectrum. Special interest and damn everyone else as long as "we" are taken care of. Someday, when I actually get free time in my life, I'll be able to be more proactive to counter these special interest idiocracies. Until then, I guess I just get to complain about it and do nothing.

Reminton 700 and Model 7 recall for trigger issues
phade replied to Mr VJP's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Crap. I need to look mine up. Hasn't even been shot yet. -
Same here. Ive lost count how old my set it. I just wore it today. It has to be going on its 7th or 8th year.

That's the towing motor I referenced.

I've had plenty of people post my trail cam images. Bases in velvet was posted on no less than a half dozen FB pages after Covert posted it to their page. Stuff travels. A TV show Covert sponsors used one of our turkey pics from last year. I don't mind showing a deer as long as the anonymity remains true. Which isn't always possible.

I've replaced calipers too. Seizing up. Definitely not me. This truck hasn't been the best to me. I'm not about to buy another Dodge after that experience. Normally I can shake it off and try to rationalize it, but this truck has been horrible. Did I mention the time when my PCM went in Ohio? On a Saturday at 5 p.m. Took me two and a half months to get it back to NY with a new OEM PCM. That was a nice repair bill. I got so mad I went out and bought another Ford during that time.
-
Shoot. I've been a Dodge person all my life. I won't be when the Dakota drops dead. After that thing, I don't want to even look at another Dodge. I'm going on my fourth set of control arms (and probably ball joints) on the passenger side at 135k. The suspension problems this truck has is insane - ball joints, control arms, shocks, bushings, so on. Never been in an accident and was a pavement queen outside of the need to pick up a deer or drop off a stand, etc. No harsh trail riding. Original owner.

I think I'm in trouble...
phade replied to Merlot's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I would probably just keep it under wraps. I can't see a big deal made out of it given the scenario. If there's no place for it (say at a family camp or something), get rid of it. -

blinds and fields. -
Adjustable ones. I don't know if I would consider the stockers on many bows adjustable.

Bodyguard took a little getting used to, I'll admit. I do think it is a better option than the LCP from a manufcaturing/quality POV. I'm not a fan of the trigger pull on either, however. It took me some getting used to, and I'm not as accurate with it as I would like to be. I'm far more accurate with other similar frame sizes with older model guns (a specific older .25 ACP comes to mind). But, it'll do in close quarters. If it is any help, part of the laser components are made in NY outside of Rochester, so you are helping to support NY jobs in that way.

They put a couple different motors in there, didn't they? If so, I would think that both motor types wouldn't be impacted by the same factory issues. I think one option was a monster of a towing motor.
