I think the park was the biggest factor. If it were anywhere else, do it.
-
I think Grow goes there. I do not...I typically buy buck on a bag variety or from Slayer Seed. I rarely plant more than 1/2 acre plots in a given year now. Used to do much more. He's a small time operation, but a very good guy who can customize % easily enough.

Either you got PTT by mistake or you were sold the wrong type of radish.
-
I like the radish more for the draw in hunting season. If your goal isn't to kill the deer or is to provide more off-season food...then yes for darn sure on that Grow. PTT is more durable. The draw of the radish is bigger in my experience though in season.

They look like turnips to me too. Hog radish is a daikon isn't it? Daikon is a green/white tuber.

I love and fear the desire to go elk hunting. I really want to do it and see the west and get the experience. I fear doing it and having to come back and have whitetail hunting ruined for me forever. Darn near any hardcore bowhunter I know who has went west after elk say it ruins the deer hunting for them. And, it's not cheap getting west, no matter how "cheap" you are.

If you plant too early, they will bolt. By bolting (going to seed), they lose a lot of the starch that will turn to sugar once the frost hits and it will lose its palatability to a degree to deer. I've seen quite a few people push the envelope on planting date in the summer and turn out OK because NY isn't exactly a heatwave state. The problem with brassica is hunting related. Sometimes deer won't eat it the first year, at all, or only after the season because of food availability and weather temps. I still think they are one of the best out there, but I push for a stronger portion of radish rather than turnip, rape, kale, etc. I'd probably go as far to say 60% daikon radish, 20% PTT, 20% DER.

I think Mossberg makes a youth or small frame 500 that can add on pads to accompany growth. Might be a perfect fit.

Nothing but a discussion that will cause disagreement here. That's my comment.

PSE Bow Madness XS Bow for sale
phade replied to NYBuckHunter27's topic in Hunting Items For Sale and Trade
Yes, in common terms that is a 70lb bow. A 60lb bow is 50-60. You might be able to eek out some scratch for the accessories, but bows just loose value fast. Good luck with sale, I am sure you will find a buyer. -

If it was a 60lb bow, I'd be interested. I don't want to sound rude, but since you are asking, I think you are over-pricing a 5 year old bow bare bow. Bows lose value way too fast. I've seen the XS for for $200-250 on AT. It's just a mainline bow sold in box stores; not a proline sold in the proshops. Good bow, but again, it's a bit overpriced. If it were a 60lb, I'd probably offer $200 in all honesty, and I really want to get one as a back-up/blind bow. So take that as a grain of salt. Sorry if that is not what you want to hear. -
You may be best swapping it out and finding a brand you can trust. How did you attach it to a tree? Just as an FYI, anything below the Reconyx line (and often including it), will have instances where returns are necessary it's the nature of putting a cam outside in the elements. I believe you will find Pat and the Covert team to be above all in service quality. Good luck to you.

Not, not a Letchworth buck. I wouldn't post a public land buck and this buck won't be given any info as to locale.
-
He's getting by just fine with his hunter avoidance.
-
I would hope so, the gas pedal is stuck.
-
Stuck in the friend zone already? Congrats on the buck!

Waaaaaaaaaaait. You got a buck?

Deer: H&R Ultra Slug in Thumbhole. I popped a doe at 120 yards this weekend free hand with little time to do anything but point and shoot. I will use my 500 for pushes or as a back up. Never really found any other slug gun that I liked for deer, and I've been in shotgun territory for most of my life. I do like my H&R .410. Not the best gun for small game, but I shoot it well.

Isn't North Country where Ancestry.com and eHarmony.com are one in the same? Sorry, I saw a photo of a game poster with that on it between Auburn and Alabama last week...cracked me up.

You rest your head at night. If you can close your eyes without much issue, than that is what is right for you.

That's the thing though - they worked to get to where they are. They weren't born into it. Merely a couple with a dream and they put one foot in front of the other and reached their dream. Very few people can say that in life. Very few. If it were that easy, everyone would be doing it. I wouldn't leave ground zero either for deer hunting in the continental U.S. SE Iowa is about as good as it gets.
