February vacation booked! Anyone else traveling?

Exuma and Long Island are on my bucket list. I've heard Andros is nice - authentic as you noted. Only tough thing I have heard is that if you want to travel far on the island it can be a bit of a logistical effort for transportation. Probably 100% worth it though! If you haven't been to STJ, I'd put that on the list too. It's phenomenal. I've heard since Covid, it's been hit hard with tourists due to it being still in the US family. When we went, we took a jeep and traversed the island and hit empty beach after empty beach, snorkeled with turtles, and took a day trip to Jost Van Dyke, which was unbelievable. I liked the variation from the Bahamas due to the island type (more mountainous and lush) and the panoramic views being up high is a sight to see. -

Wow, that is not an easy thing to do. Congrats to him. I played in the US Olympic Development program on the U-16 group. He has to be very good. -

Murrell's Inlet is a nice respite from MB proper; it's worth a visit in the evening for dinner along the boardwalk. Carolina Roadhouse in MB has these honey-glazed rolls. Get them. Delicious. Research shark teeth hunting there and bring your hunting flashlights - I read up on it like it was rouse, but we found several shark teeth at night; I think we found close to 10. It was a great kid/family experience. I spent more time doing a father-daughter activity with that than probably anything we've ever done together. She was hooked. Food in general there is very busy - restaurants are backed up all of the time. MB is now the fastest growing city in America and you will see it when you try to go out to eat. Make reservations ahead of time. Like, now. We went down twice last year and my father's better half lives down there full-time, so if you need any local suggestions closer to the trip, I can ask. -

Scotland is other-worldly - especially if you can get to the Highlands. I grew up there. Glasgow is a bit of a rough crowd but great people. And...they have phenomenal hunting. Shhhhhhh. -

Vegas in March. Wife bought it for us as a Christmas gift to me. Been a while. We'll likely adventure out to one of the national parks during that time. We've been in a cycle of east coast beach vacations since Covid started, and honestly, they suck in terms of being different. All east coast beach towns to me are largely the same. I was happy she booked something different for a getaway, as it has been a few years since the last time we went to Vegas. -
Have fun - there usually is a good coordination on social media around events prior to the game and after. There probably is a KC Bills Backer club and their social media account will probably lay out the plans and feed to the general Bills social media groups. Bills Mafia on FB is a good place to start and then search from there. Typically the night prior to the game has a big turnout at the Bills Backer bar. I met Brian Moorman in Jacksonville and got a photo with him, the night prior at the backers bar. Probably 1-2K people there. Houston was extremely organized by the Houston backers club - the bar got a permit and closed down the street and it was 3-4K people, open air, open bars, food, like a mini mardi gras type of experience. As much as I love being at home, the away playoff games are usually epic in terms of the social events. My friend and I were discussing this morning about going and KC is out for me. Moneywise it isn't too bad, but I can't miss work and I'd need to miss at least one day, possibly a second. Flying home the day after is not the greatest as I have learned. Should Bills win, Nashville may be in the cards, or hosting against the Bengals, definitely in.

Same thoughts I have. I listened to WTH in the early years as well, every single podcast, largely because I was traveling for work on an absolute horrendous pace, and throwing the headphones on listening to them while on planes was about the only respite I had for two/2.5 years straight. The podcast now is a former shell of itself. I listen from time to time, but just not the same with the corporate feel/sales tones, and Mark definitely seems to have gone the "pro" route in his demeanor. Early podcasts were him being more inquisitive and curious. Now, it's more of a "listen to me" angle. The incorporation with Meateater was that driver IMO. A former member here, or maybe inactive member now, was the subject of a podcast for Dan in his first year or so. It was an out of state public buck harvest story/podcast. -
You have a choice - you just aren't viewing it as a fair choice if I am reading it properly. You can get vax'd and go to Canada, or you don't and don't got to Canada...or you don't and pour over the border - and get caught or don't get caught with or without ramifications. So, you have choices. Choices are not ramification-free, nor fair, nor consistently fair.

Definitely one of the bigger snowfalls I can recall here in the past two years or so. Still coming down here. We're around 15" from my last poke in the snow, using a vintage Chase Pitkin yard stick. I think they are vintage now, right?

Despite what anyone says about you, you're a good dad!

The heaters made a world of difference. We were much colder tailgating. Never once felt cold in the stands.

Team defense is the only way to beat a team offense. PM is good but he is better because of his cast. I'd rather take a better defensive team than the best defensive player. I know there are examples of defenders single-handedly changing a game, but that is often because we attribute a play or two that are critical vs the totality of the plays. It's like people saying a fourth quarter TD is more important than the one in second quarter. Both matter, but people want to place more value on that fourth quarter one.

I'm conservative and republican in principle and in life choices, for the most part. I also am vaccinated with the booster. I chose to do so based on the information I could glean and best determine truthful. It was my decision and I own that decision regardless of outcome. I won't be a sheep if it ends up making me grow a third nipple or cancer. I won't be a sheep if it helps me shed a COVID bout easier. I made my decision and I am comfortable with it. I sleep fine at night. Regardless of aisle side you are all choosing to stand on, it might be better if you all just do the same and chill out. Life is about choices. It's not about fair choices or inherent right or wrong. There is a difference.

You clearly didn't see that Hyde interception. Might be the best interception in the entire NFL this year.

Part of the corporate piece you note is from the selling of Rinella's company and brand to Chernin. They dumped $50-100M into it via an umbrella type of operation. They own First Lite clothing now, for example, and the Wired to Hunt brand, etc. I commend you about wanting to learn; I think many people here want to and do, do the same. It's refreshing. My learning is that their podcast can't be valued on its face. That is not rhetoric, though. Peter Chernin bought controlling interest in Meateater and Rinella. Perter Chernin has donated millions of dollars to anti-2A efforts. It's not a conspiracy theory, and it's not many layers removed. And, Rinella as you noted, sells things. Really well. I probably wouldn't have learned that myself had it not been for this forum and a few other forums. I lost alot of respect for Rinella when he at the peak of his career, chose to sell to a person of that mindset. If partnering with a like-minded business were the focus, there likely would have been a line up out the door for those who are fully in 2A or the hunting industry. Chernin was not the only game in town. He chose Chernin specifically, at a time when he was top of the mountain brand-wise. That's disappointing. He just showed that he sold to the highest bidder regardless of moral compass. He is a salesman. -
I've only ever known a handful of people who have moved to TN. None have regretted that choice. Have never been there but I do I want to check it out some time. Sounds like a great opportunity for you and nice of your family to offer it up.

That lineman TD was all on that lineman. He tossed the DPOY/sack record holder and got open. It's probably going to be the individual highlight of that guy's career.

Did he throw any pics?

We've went round and round on this. He sold out to his master who is anti-2A, and knowingly did so. So, please don't say he is a stauch 2A supporter. Peter Chernin has donated more money to anti 2A causes than we've all probably made in our lifetimes. Rinella chose to sell his business to him, knowing that. Despite all of the hyperbole he says otherwise. At the end of the day, Rinella and his brother should be applauded for how good of sales people they are. Not hunting. Not cooking. Selling. -
They can build a retractable roof, alot of newer builds are not doing them. I guess they find that once built, they just don't retract as often. Mostly because there are competition rules for games. Like they have to let the team know by X days or hours ahead if it'll be open vs closed. Makes it hard to open or close based on the weather forecast.

LOL - my first ever game in person was the comeback. I've been at games where you had to pour brandy in the beer to keep it from freezing. It is fun. No doubt. More fun though, are the new builds. They're an awesome experience in their entirety. Not just weather related either - places have micro-brew pubs, interactive exhibits and experiences, cool ways to get along the field or along paths to the locker rooms. Plenty more. Also for NY, you can use it for other revenue opps year-round vs just stadium rock tours. I think you can still find a balance where tailgating is still part of the culture while also making a new place to be more reflective of the overall experience. I'm done watching people slide through the urinals at Rich stadium.

75% of our property is still in SG county. ML is nice for the open areas but SG still rule for alot of the scenarios IMO. Have 20g Ultra Slug with the Bull barrel and laminate thumbhole. Use it often, don't shoot it often though outside season. It is a good piece. So much so I bought a backup that is a safe queen in case something happens to the first. I have not enjoyed any other deer SG I have ever owned. This one fits me like a glove.

Warm rotisserie though. That is the key word.

I’ll just think the experience is so much better. The carrier dome though in my opinion isn’t what is reflective of modern indoor stadiums. Big difference. Carrier dome? No. Ford Field, the house Jerry built. Yes please.

Chicken and egg - debatable but the revenue and tax money mixes into the local and state economy.
