It's the other way around - Tesla is eating into legacy share. Tesla dominates the EV market, which is cannibalizing ICE market. The market isn't EV vs ICE. It's cars, period. Tesla isn't at risk of losing it's market share. Legacy automakers are. For simplicity sake: EV Market Share today is 10 units ICE Market Share today is 90 units Tesla has 9 out of 10 units in EV (90%) Future State where Tesla loses "market share": EV Market Share is 40 units ICE Market Share is 60 units Tesla has 28 out of 40 units in EV (70%) With technology and patents holding the future of EV, Tesla is well positioned to eat a bigger piece of the pie. They also just announced more records broken today in terms of production and delivery.

Tesla? Way different. Tesla's R&D is outpacing legacy makers by stupid amounts. It's scary.

This is really bad top down management. First-class screw up. Only a few things could have really happened. 1. They don't have a handle on their business 2. Leadership set the wrong expectations to the street. Neither happens without leadership knowing its an issue. To say +2.5M and land @ -0.2M, that is a shock to the system. Wall Street doesn't mess around. They don't like unexpected big surprises in EITHER direction. It'd be a great time to buy if you can figure out their fundamentals, but wow, I'm not sure investors would have high confidence at this point.

We usually do M-Thur and get in Friday morning. Long work trip but we get out to Westgate and Scottsdale, etc. Friday home is usually a "gimme" day where we have the computer on at home but usually sleep or stuff at home for being gone all week. About the only thing I'll engage in on that Friday is an EE issue or an escalation. Otherwise, I usually end up mowing the yard at some point, lol. EVERY SINGLE TRIP so far for me has been away games by Suns, D-Backs, and Coyotes. I checked again and D-Backs are in San Diego for Pete's sake. I usually avoid going there in the fall due to hunting season but wouldn't mind seeing the Cards in that stadium, too.

When we go to PHX, we usually redeye it home, and stop at oldtown and get juiced up between the office and airport. Sleep like a baby on the flight home.

What is the going rate now? I go to Ohio often and will be spending the afternoon of the 30th tracking down as many hunting and fishing stores as possible since we can only hunt til noon there. When we do that, we historically come across it on shelf. Heck, found it in season last year in a WALMART of all places there.

I'll be in PHX in June. Might as well take a trip to the sun. PHX for some reason just doesn't vibe with me. Good food, ASU makes me feel like I made a bad decision when choosing colleges when I was younger, and generally stuff there seems newer/modern. I just struggle with the landscape and everywhere I went (short of visiting ASU for work) seems like it's the same. Also not a golfer, so there is that, too. But guys, if you have a son, have them go to ASU. Heaven on earth 18-22.

Absolutely love that place. Ate lunch watching the goats on the island.

You must be still worried about Covid.

I like people here. I don't know if I like them THAT much. Kidding. I've had some good times with a few key ppl here too.

Wife and I went to Columbus for 4 days. She likes the zoo there so we did that and a bunch of stuff along the way and back. Fun impromptu trip - was supposed to be in Vegas with my wife to celebrate our anniversary for the week though. We had to cancel when my boss' boss called an offsite meeting and shipped in six people from around the country without ever having human decency to let me know, to meet on my business unit (strategy on an acquisition). Obviously I had to attend based on me presenting for the first 3.5 hours of the agenda, which was our anniversary date. Got a one-week notice of that, too. Ate $400 in cancel fees and have to burn $1K on United credit at some point by end of the calendar year. Salty. He told me to charge a dinner on him when he realized he couldn't unwind it. A5 Wagyu sounds good at this point. We're going to try to get away for a week in the summer, July probably. Can't do Vegas because it'll be a family trip.

You sound like fun at parties.

Pass. Plans are not great; cams are not great. App is mediocre. Would only ever consider if it were to be had free or cheap - and even then, I wouldn't put it in my best spot, or second, or third. Might put it on a field edge where I don't care if it is stolen or the photos mean a season make or break. In your case, use it since it was a gift. But be cautious about where. Don't put it in a place super important IMO.

RE organic, we had a bout of mites hit two years ago - pretty bad. We maintain good cleaning habits for our coop but mites are more of a when rather than if, in alot of instances. We looked into ivermectin and decided to use it. It works well, but there is some notes about human consumption - some say 21 days later before consuming eggs. Some people freak out and say lifetime ban on egg eating if they were treated. Others, they eat them after the 21 days. We eat them. Really hard to tell if it's dangerous or not - get busy living, or get busy dying, I guess.

We are exclusively using bantams now. Smaller eggs but a few are in the medium category (bantam Cochin). They still lay pretty well for us - I think we have 8 total, and they lay 5-6 per day in season. We don't force light our birds during winter or slow period. Bantams have proven to be a bit more docile and easier to handle for my daughter. This is our first spring in probably five years with us not hatching eggs or buying chicks. 8 is enough. Agree on all fronts with the coop suggestions. I have two coops - one cheapo kit from TSC that we winter the birds in (easier to provide some wind break with greenhouse plastic wrap), and a larger cattle panel hoop enclosure with a separate coop inside. Really agree with the advice around security for predators. We've done the same with HC and a chicken wire overlay.

Cooper makes a consistent tire. Hercules is a brand offshoot from Cooper. Toyo Open Country AT3 have been great for me. First Toyos I have purchased and very impressed. I have C load 6 ply. 10 ply E Load is pretty rigid and stiff for alot of people.

Enjoyed chasing deer in three states with my hunting partner, but wow, was this past year ever frustrating. I encountered more mature bucks from the stand than I saw in the prior three years combined. I went down to Ohio yesterday to prep for turkey season and pulled a cam I believed would have photos of some of the deer I saw from the stand at that time. I witnessed the photos being taken as painful a reminder it is, lol. I let the cam sit so I could learn for this year. It was a long wait letting it go from Nov (set on 11/10) til now. It brings back the frustration and "so close" feeling instantly. The cam is 7-8 years old too. Hard to be at peace when I saw all of these bucks with open shots between 50-60 yards from the stand, made moves appropriately to get closer and when I did get within bow range of all three of them, none of them presented me with clear shots. All obscured by brush or came out too dark to shoot (still legal but I couldn't find my peep on the wide 8 the evening of 11/10 @ 25 yards or so). Such is life. I can only confirm one made it post hunting season. Cam is one hour ahead, but the two bigger bucks on 11/27 (4:44 and 5:31 are two different bucks, but there are four bucks posted from that day) got into a knock down drag out fight in front of me at 50 yards about 20 minutes prior. Never seen anything like it before. Figured I'd share. Here is to a "closer" 2022! *Edit. Not sure why but they post out of order. The photo with the yearling doe has the buck trailing to the right if you can spot him. Also, the 4:44 buck won against the 5:31 buck. Eventually over-powered him and ran him off down the creekline. The 4:44 was markedly bigger in person. Hard to explain, but he was much larger body and rack wise.

Put me in the .410 category. I have three now with two dedicated to turkey. It has a bit of kick but even shooting at paper is no problem. I just enjoy the lighter tote weight, the portability, etc. I have used a Mossberg 535 12g for years with hevi, and I'm good on that, forever. .410 FTW. I've probably also sent more shotty loads downrange than rifle by a factor of 5-1 in my life.

Thats aluminum. CF would be noted on the box and show the cf weave pattern.

How much will the price of fuel affect your hunting now?
phade replied to Grouse's topic in General Chit Chat
There really are three ways to impact this. Make more money. Reduce expenses. Change habits. Most people go to option three. Option 3 was a big cost increase last year due to hunting three states. So I focused on options 1 and 2. Pay increase and reduced operating expenses. Having an "outwork my problem to hit a goal" mindset seems to help. -
Cuddelink specifically suggests Rayovac High Energy due to the voltage they carry. Just FYI. I have had good luck with some specific other brands too, but I almost exclusively run my Cuddelink with external 6 or 12 Packs, too, so I take brute force approach. Any time I have ever had to rely on the internal D batteries only, the cam ends up costing me in some way. Whether that be performance or the batteries going low at the world's most inopportune time. Case in point, I had a G series remote cam that I didn't have any other externals for, when in Ohio. I set the dang thing in between my home and remote cam already in play. Ended up becoming a bridge in the mesh network. Dang cam went down mid rut and brought down the cam behind it from sending again as it wouldn't re-attach to the home. Unless you're in a very easy to reach spot or field edge I would NEVER recommend using Cuddelink without external power supply. PITA but I can set and forget cams. Hate carrying them. You'd be surprised how heavy 3-4 cams with all those externals weigh in a pack.

Wow, our cars came from Japan and took less time for delivery.

My new building at work has chargers and starting to see more of that. The cost to charge is an early lifecycle component. Some companies charge for it; others don't charge the driver at all and instead use advertising revenue to allow free charging. Companies like EVGO, Volta, Chargepoint all have slightly different business models. All of this stuff needs to get worked out, no doubt. But, people and companies are working on it. I'm not sure whether people here have PD/IT or R&D experience but it's pretty much in-line with early lifecycle that is accelerating velocity. I was fortunate to lead a new product to market on the service and ops side - ironically due to the ACA which I am not a fan of - but it grew to $45M in less than one year from $0. I can't begin to tell you how many problems and gaps we didn't have answers to out of the gate or as time went on, but that solutions were found and evolved to best practices. This really is no different, just on a much much much larger scale.

It might not happen as fast or holistically as politicians think but conversion to EV or PHEV is happening. I get that people feel like it is a politicized issue and that those politicians are the face of it. Leading indicators in the business world all point to it happening, however. Seeing the unseeable sometimes can be difficult. Alot can happen in 10-15 years in terms of development. The iPhone / smartphone generation is less than 15 years old. Yet, now I can watch real-time videos of the war in Ukraine, invest in my retirement in seconds, and book trips that previously were largely routed through travel agents. Heck, I can see pictures and videos of the bucks I want to tag, lol, in real-time. Alot can happen in a relatively short amount of time and leading indicators are that companies are investing heavily in that technology, regardless if people want to dissect the topic. Gaps in infrastructure, the elements, tech, etc. will be worked out. Follow the money trail and it leads to further expansion of EV/PHEV. JMO.

Total cost for me to put in a basic level 2 - less than $500 and 30% of it is a federal tax write off. And certain power companies will credit you or give you reduced pricing on the EVSE. I am going to opt for a more expensive EVSE soon for the convenience components via an app. The charger is built into EVs. Our vehicle has a 6.6kwH charger. The EVSE plugs into it and the charger adjusts the juice flowing as needed. The largest supplier in the US is located right here in Rochester. Their basic level 2 at full blown retail is $259.99, which obviously you can find for less than that. Keep in mind that is a luxury for me - the level 1 EVSE works just fine. Level 2 is just faster charging. And a real dark secret, is the level 1 EVSE that came with the car is actually rated for 240v, so getting an adapter for it to plug into say a 14-50 NEMA is all it takes if you have the wiring done. You can 100% skip the level 2 EVSE purchase altogether. But let's not let truth get in the way of the interwebz.
