Hate to admit it but I have PTSD with my last home. Watching your washing machine bounce off the ceiling/floor of the second level in the split home...was enough for me....the fifth time in three years. Our current house is on a hill and needs a little tweaking for one corner (I'm thinking longer down spout) that gets a touch of water seepages in super heavy rains. Only second time in four years the sump kicked on this past weekend. I run it once every three months with a bucket full of water. I don't have a battery back-up but this post was a good reminder so that'll be going in this month. But eff that water in the basement stuff. Damn near bankrupted me. All in, I lost my azz, but thankfully outworked the issue in less than five years and the peace of mind of a dry basement is priceless. That first flood cost me $30K alone - just finished a full-on renno of the lower level 30 days prior (down to studs renno). Had to tear everything out again. Even the Sealy mattress was still in plastic when we had to throw it out. Effff that.

Cost is relative to some people. I'd be looking at store brands to try to reduce cost. The older Gander TecH2O stuff was lights out. Been using Sitka for past two seasons. Cheap, durable, quiet and dry rain gear is a unicorn IMO. Usually you can find three of the four.

That's a comparative steal in today's world.

We thought so too as one option but it cam out of the box that way. We'll see if the clips can be adjust or maybe if they are the cause. Was going to tackle that this weekend but it was a monsoon outside so had to attend to other stuff.

Apparently he likes the weeds growing in front of the cam. There’s no mineral or bait here. Cam isn’t in a spot I was expecting to get a ton of info on and he is only showing up after dark here so far. I set it more to monitor for people trespassing - despite owner saying no problems, just verifying. That said it’s at the entrance to the property so I’ll be diving in with more cams at next visit and fixing the one that I believe is closer to where I suspected bedding.

This has two width selections and honestly is a PITA. Wish I would have just bought one width.

Barnwood that has been milled thinner.

There is some correlation IMO, but I have no idea as to how much of an impact. I'm not sure I'd let that override falling daylight considerations and weather impacts. A late October cold front with a storm overnight is a recipe for a community/perennial scrape setup or a buck getting back to bed late because he got a late start due to the storm. The moon is not going to override me from sitting that morning. There is some connection though as I noted.

White clover has less lignen, is generally more tolerant of wet soil from time to time (IE hunting plots tend to be in spots where farms dont actually plant), and in the north white is considered more perennial in the traditional sense, despite reds being in that classification. Reds are more often looked as annual production for some reason.. I've personally had positive experiences with red clover...if you're doing a clover plot, IMO that is one case where you should really blend to allow it to do its job across the calendar and weather conditions as much as possible. Alice / Medium Red / Ladino is a pretty nice combo IMO.

Most of the scientific detail shows growth halting 100% around 30 days prior to shedding but also note this period as being usually around August 5-15 ballpark, which aligns with shedding of most bucks in September. It's July 19...they have time.

20% of a 100" deer at this point is a 120" buck. That's ALOT of inches. Maybe it's a matter of perspective but 80% growth means there is still 20% left to go, that becomes a gamechanger. A 140" deer would only be 112" right now....by that math.

It’s not too hard at all - Iowa allows for you to link up with a hunting party so you all get in or none do. It goes by the guy with the lowest points. My partner and I have four points each.

Ohio is nice due to proximity. It keeps producing despite intense pressure increase in past 10 years. Went to Ohio for the first time in 2010 or 11. It’s much more heavily hunted now IMO during key times. KY is hot on my radar but haven’t been. My Missouri ground is 15 hours drive. The logistics suck but wow what a fun experience. I’m hooked on the Midwest after having hunted there and driven through IL, Iowa and MO.

That’s a FB group, not this forum. You think this forum has drama? That place is straight Jerry’s house for entertainment.

That is an idea to consider - we're going to try to solve for it tomorrow, my friend is our HVAC connection and he'll be bringing over the machine to get the moisture out of the line and we'll try some things before we decide for sure. The picture here doesn't make it seem as ugly but it stares you in the face when you enter the room (just below eye level to it). Best I can describe is its like weatherstripping that got stretched and is loose.

This is 8 x 20. It was never a room originally. Was a walkway between the house and garage. Prior owners did an addition that also closed this in. It has somewhat high ceiling at the peak. I doubt I’ll have all of my mounts up here as much as I would like because of the TV/couch/ladder desk and the mini split. I could fit 14-16 shoulder mounts if it were not including some of these items but as it stands now, I’ll have at least 8 on the wall using corner and double full range systems.

That is kind of what we're thinking. Not ideal, but it looks really bad and stands out in person, almost as if the rubber/plastic got stretched. Might have to be the decision!

Same, I wish I had that ability to focus and the time. Reloading is one of those things that I have on my bucket list to learn how to do when I retire - like fly fishing. Larry, curious since you said it's been a few years, but is it something like riding a bicycle or is there a "don't use it you lose it" skill involved? IE is it skill that is learned or simply just following a process to get good reloads?
-
Mini split is up. A bit annoyed but the plastic/rubber edge on the lower right corner is stretched/loose. Looks much more noticeable in person. Any ideas to cover up that sin? Manufacturer says replacement parts are 6-12 months out…COVID. Yeah, OK. Bought the unit 35-40 days ago, and they only warranty out of box cosmetic defects for 30 days. I should have opened and inspected earlier, lesson learned. In any case I’m probably going to have to solve it myself. Might do a border around the unit after the wall goes on (unit comes off a TV style wall mount behind it). Short of that we have barnwood going up today.

So, looks like I might be in a stand Sept 15. Got permission from the wife, and my boss is going to let me work remote for the week. Pretty neat.

Maybe they'll have an early muzzleloader season tag....lol
