Body control module, wiring harness, or PCM/ECU. Some real sound advice given already. Look for signs of rodent damage if the vehicle sits for any period of time (hunting rig sounds like not a primary driver to me). I don't know if Nissan did this, but several manufacturers for a period of time used soy-based wire coatings on the harnesses and rodents were induced to chew on them. I know Toyota has that issue and at one point GM did as well. Electrical problems on a car are the worst. Best of luck on your hunt to fix it!

Cuomo doesn't want to order the shutdown - wants the fed to do it - I think. Down to 25% of EEs in office by state mandate. Work has been crazy this week, but the preparations have been aggressive. Sitting in the office for the final day for the foreseeable future, I'd say we are much better positioned now than I thought we would by when Monday started. Some of the things I have been issued to keep the business running are straight up WWII stuff based on the range of options that may take place in the upcoming days and weeks. Hopefully it doesn't get that bad, that's for sure.

Corona Virus Thread
phade replied to Al Bundy's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
We don't know the answer. It's a novel virus. Some data shows reduced impact in countries with hot, humid weather near equator, but data sets are limited. It could thrive, but it could also be impacted similar to other viruses that transmit in similar fashion. Those have proven to be less transmittable in those areas/climates. -

Same - been working 24/7 for the past week. Hospitals are built on speed and finesse. They had/have no capacity for brute force issues, which this is. I had spine surgery scheduled for Wednesday at Highland and they canceled it on me last night. Moving space, equipment, and resources to this issue. -

Going to be interesting during the next 45-60 days, that's for sure. First real look at the hit on China was 21% decreased retails sales, 13% less production, and 24% less investment in fixed assets. That was the first month of YOY comps. Essentially China significantly reduced buying, making, and investing in the future. At this point, we're easing into this (as much as possible). First was voluntary behavior changes, now local/state, and eventually national decrees. I think alot of people wanted a hammer to hit; I initially thought that might be best, but I suspect our infrastructure couldn't have taken that shock to the system. This is like walking into the cold pool starting at the ladder, then the shallow, before swimming and head under...as opposed to the dive in. There will be some cultural learning here. Schools and workplaces will significantly advance remote work and learning; infrastructure/asset costs will reduce. Supply chains will improve. Hospital efficiencies will be mapped for surge intake and treatment, etc. -
I love the fact that there are lowballs of JB but no bottle of JB. Normally they are not sold without it, ha.

And looks what's happening. S7542 and A00722. The Senate bill has passed Encon committee. Going to a vote. Happening after budget most likely.

I don't think this has hit flu like levels yet. Definitely some downstream economic impacts that take time to work into the system - product shortages, supply delays, travel barriers slowing global trade, etc. It's probably not a one-day or one-week dip, but likely to be felt for the quarter, maybe following one, too. Just like it took time to work into the economies, it'll take time to work itself out. -
This guys has been a ghost for three full seasons. He shifts ranges as I don't even pick him up on cam after the shift. Last pic is always the last week in September. 9/30 or 9/31 last two years. Doesn't reappear until Spring. Can't kill what is not there in season...ghost.

Go. You can't control everything with respect to health or life. I was never a cruise fan either - came across to me as a cattle drive to mass market tourism. Then I went on one and realized I can still drive my own experience within reason. All of my cruises in adulthood have been to the Caribbean. Definitely had some fun times...waterfall climbing and jumping in Jamaica and the DR, the window cave in PR, snorkeling in private bays in STT and STJ. Getting some drinks with friends and family with no outside influence on our time and enjoyment (no work to do, do meeting to attend, etc.). Time is invaluable, and so are the experiences you spend that time on.

3/14. I like being around my wife/kids. Don't get enough of it with life's daily grind.
-
With kids, I'm the opposite - I think the head boats as they're called are probably the best overall option. Usually you end up with plenty of action on croaker and similar small stuff. Every once in a while you'll pull up a sea bass / tautog / cobia / shark / grouper, etc. Cheap, easy, and not a full day commitment if you don't want it. Charter boats are not cheap, have alot of risk vs reward, and are usually from smaller operations. With adults and teens who know the context, that's obviously much more fun. With kids...too much of a gamble IMO.

It's a bar. In a college town. But it's not a college town bar. Not much different than Jeremiah's or the Goat where past meets have taken place, other than it's small footprint. And as noted it sells venison burgers.

I didn't know Websterites slummed it in Hennrietta, lol. JK.

Dansville offerings are kind of a crapshow. Geneseo is marginally north by another 10-15 min, but being a college town has a few options. The one that comes to mind is Village Tavern. Small but consistent food and beverage options (salads to wings and burgers, and local to national beers), and right on the main drag. 5 minutes off 390 coming N or S, and it's literally the road you'd exit off 390.

Yes - The mayor publicly put out a request on social media groups asking for creative ways to attract local hunting tourism to the Hancock area about 1-2 months before this coyote hunt became an issue. The mayor wanted to leverage this as much as possible to generate needed revenue. People supplied all kinds of ideas, which included more of these sponsored hunts, marketing, accommodation packages, having the town property be set-up for hunts or food plots, etc. Lots of people supplied ideas and answers, I think mostly because it was a unique and creative ask from a public official. Not very often does an official bring up hunting related topics so it got alot of traction on social media. Then, this sponsored hunt unrelated to the original request became the target for the anti-campaign. At which point the mayor decided to shut down after yielding to the pressure. It frustrated alot of people given what the mayor set out to do mere weeks prior. I doubt the mayor knew the campaign was coming at the point they put out the effort to collect revenue generating ideas from hunting activities.

Mayor shut the FD event down. Hunters got together and had the local federation pick it up since the mayor had no control over it. They established a different hunt but are donating the funds to the FD. So ultimately the event was shuttered and another one put together because of action.
-
I supplied feedback to the Hancock mayor based on open requests for ideas about hunting related tourism and then the subsequent decision to shutter a major funding source via the hunt. The area has ample public land and the ask surrounded how to encourage its use with money being generated for the local community hosting the hunters. Interestingly I supplied the first feedback after the ask and before the cancellation. The second came after and how that public optic might hurt in more ways than one - the hunt and the ask for people to come to the area and use the public lands and support the community. The mayor received more than 100 responses before the hunt topic even came to be. The gap between the mayor's ask and the coyote hunt was around 6-8 weeks if I remember right.

The cost of inaction is great IMO. If some people think my views are extreme or ignorant, so be it. I'm OK with that. At the very least I've been able to get people to discourse more on a subject they otherwise would have admittedly been on the sidelines on.
-
Does it have ramifications? Yes. I think it's quite hard to believe otherwise. Ramifications are both positive and negative.
-
Didn't or couldn't answer? Deflection.
-
You are mistaken.

I like the analogy between people and fires. There are three types of people - those who run away from a fire, those who watch it burn, and those who run toward the fire to help put it out. Some people just like to watch their own house burn apparently.
