  1. Kimbers are knownfor sub par quality these days.. They look pretty but I would never buy one. I own a glock and I'd bet I could shoot it just as good as your kimber. Now to the op... I've shot a couple ruger Americans and to some people's disbelief, both shot 1" groups at 100 yards. They both where fed Hornady american whitetail ammo. One was a 270, the other a 308. Both with ok optics on them. They were both buddy of mine rifles that they couldn't get out to sight in. My father owns a tikka t3 and it also shoots very well.
  2. Took my 10/22 out today, wanted a tree rat for lunch. Hogue over mold stock and a E.R. Shaw spiral fluted bull barrel. Cheap bushnell 3-9 on it. It worked out today. Fried up some squirrel for lunch.
  3. Man if I had a mill and a lathe at home... that's a good lookin stabilizer grow.
  4. Where I went in I ended up about in the middle between sour springs and 63. R u recommending the west side of 63? Looks like I'd need waders to get in there.
  5. Maybe after the spots I found don't work out I'll try that lol.
  6. Now that your 1400 miles away, any secret spots you'd like to share in Iroquois?
  7. My father pheasant hunts there. I've been with him a few times. Nice open areas for pheasants, and he's gotten a few ducks there too.
  8. At that price ur not gonna find my insulated windproof jackets. You may be better off buying real good close to layer with. Under armour base layers like a 3.0 would be good, or try first lite they have merino wool base layers that others swear by. Just my suggestion unless u decide to spend more $$$$
  9. Just got the kids on the bus and camo'd up and now I'm in a tree. Good luck with the recovery rebel.
  10. I was in there today just getting some spots picked out. Plenty of tracks. I went in off sour springs. I'll mainly be hitting it during the week to cut down on preasure, unless my property slows down too much.
  11. I have a smaller plot separated from this plot by 30 yards of brush. The smaller field just had corn in it, not a drop of the seeds from the other field. But it also has this grass in it. Just something that came up this year I guess
  12. Thought I'd update this since it's been a month. U can see alot of the chicory coming in also there's a good amount of the clover along with radishes and turnips. Where that grass was real thick it's still choking it but happy it came in this good after what it was.
  13. Just got from scouting the Iroquois preserve near me. Some real nice areas in there, got 2 spots picked out for future trys.
  14. I'm goin to wait a few hours then goin to walk Iroquois wildlife preserve. See if I can find a few new spots to sit.
  15. I've used NAP Killzones the last 2 years with good results, 2 for 2 for dead deer. The last passed through the does shoulder and went through opposite rib cage but did not cut through the hide. That's the only bad I've heard of large cut mechanicals. But it made a mess of the does lungs and she went maybe 75 yards.
  16. I broke my does shoulder this year, she was slight quarter towards me at 19 yards, shot high on this shoulder exited opposite arm pit rib cage, never cut through the hide. Top of 1 lung and center of the other. Obviously if he hit lower on the shoulder it's harder bone. Should've seen the arrow hanging out of the deer as it ran away giving an idea of shot placement.
  17. Headed out soon. Can't sleep, covered in poison ivy! Bringing the climber so maybe I can take a nap with all the anti itch cream covering me. Goodluck everyone.
  18. No deer for us either but my son thinks we have a great squirrel spot.
  19. Hopefully my son brings in the good luck of antlers. First time this year in the 2 man stand. It sits about 50 yards in the woods from a standing corn field.
  20. Are there any pics of deer in that same location to get a size comparison? Just goin off those trees behind it that's a very healthy house cat.
  21. I live 3 minutes from the 90 entrance. Moved here 1.5 years ago, got 46 acres, 12 of wich is crop field. Loving being able to walk out my back door and hunt. Welcome to the forum, hope u have some success this year.
  22. Just woke up, goin on a atv dice run today with the wife. Goodluck everyone I'll b back out tomorrow.
