    Had a productive walk in, was playing peek a boo around a tree with a white weasel. What kind is that? Good luck everyone be safe and have fun.

    I'm using with a drag behind me as I walk in. Theory being, if the buck crosses my path he follows the sent to me. That's assuming he follows it in the right direction. I'm not trying to get into a discussion on the validity of deer scents. There's many worse things I could spend my money on, plus it was helping a local outdoor store and antler ice is from ny, so I'm helping local business.

    Well its wasted, so no going back. It's one of those things that I just have to buy every year. Never had great success with any particular brand. I've had smaller bucks follow drags in. So maybe this year a bigger buck will humor me and sniff the ground I walk in on and I can say ah haa, the pee worked!

    I picked a bottle of doe in heat up for Saturday. I made a drag up. Just wondering if anyone has had any success with it. I've never used it but since it looks like the rut is kicking off here I figured why not. Tried evercalm for the first time this year and have been happy with it so far, hopefully this is the same.

    Well as a youngster I used to love missing school to hang out at camp with my mom, dad ,and brother. However times have changed, I'm now the parent, and I love the ability to hunt 2 days without worrying about having to get them on the bus before I can get in the woods. So my votes for saturday.

    Yep from my "shootin shack" to the back of my field is 332 yards. Gotta be prepared for that.

    In the Marines we sighted our m16's in at 36 yards, that made them dead on at 300. That was thru a peep sight.

    A 270 sighted 2" high at 100, should b dead on at 200 and probably 6.5" low at 300. This is based off my 308.

    Hanging stands in September I got pinned in the stand when a 4 pt and doe started milling around. I used a app on my phone with coyote barks and howls. Also last year I was stuck at the back of my field in my tree when 4 doe came out feeding in our soybeans, it's behind our house so I had my wife drive her car back into the field. Both worked out good.

    I can't count how many times I'm doing something, put a tool down or something run in the house and come back out and I'm like where the hell did it go! I turn 34 next month so it has nothing to do with old age.

    I'm torn between my remington 788 in .308, shooting older Hornady light magnums, actually down to my last 6 shells... or a older marlin 336 in 30-30, shooting Hornady american whitetail rds.

    Moved some stands today for better shots with a gun. Also they started to cut my corn, they let my kids and i hop in the combine and take a few laps. My 5 yr old daughter gets out and tells me she wants to b a farmer when she grows up. Priceless. Bumped one deer walking back to move a stand, got some pics of a nice buck moving at 4am. Saturday can't get here soon enough.

    Also u saw him fall and get up and run off, could u see arrow sticking out either side? If it wasn't a pass thru were he fell over I would think u would find a part of ur arrow.

    Thanks doe buck, it looks small compared to my 2 full mounts but I'm very happy for how this bow season turned out. Can't wait for gun to open, where I'm at its not a war zone so deer should still move naturally. Plus looks like they are cutting my corn field tomorrow. Can finally watch them from my kitchen window.

    Did the shot look low? I put 2 shots thru shoulder blades this year without a problem, but if u hit lower on the shoulder blade where it gets smaller and denser I guess that could happen.

    I did get probably 8 txt, yesterday from friends and family saying thank you. That does mean alot because those r the people I care about most and it's good to know they care. A stuck up lady at lowes I could care less about if what I did in my life doesn't mean anything to her. I find people in there 60's-70's are the ones that show the most respect because that's how they were brought up.

    I was at lowes and showed my VA card for my discount and the lady looked at me like I was less than her. Maybe because I'm not a grey haired old Vietnam vet but I don't think most people care as much about those who fought in Iraq and Afghanistan. She never even said thank u for your service. I don't expect that but on vetrans day, c'mon.

    Brother in law missed a 8pt this a.m. hit a branch instead of deer. Give a try this afternoon.
