Funny timing on this thread. last night I got two doe come into a field 80 yards away up wind. They were walking around slowly and basically chilling so I got to really have a go with the call. I tried fawn in distress first and no response to any of it. I then tried doe a couple of times. I was doing this because the sun was coming down and needed them to come within range. After a while doing this every couple of min finally that sound we hate to hear: snorting. Not sure if they got worried over the stupid calls I was making or saw me. Deer's long range vision is worse than ours, so maybe it was the sounds. I wish I had rattlers to at least try that out, as I did "call" in a deer (not sure doe or fawn) a few nights ago as I came down out of the tree at night and was zipping up my pack and everything.

Crap weather and rain. But two doe just stepped out 80 yards away. Too far and sun is gone by down soon. Glad I came. Good to see deer at this spot. May try and call it in. How often do you guys run these things? Assuming you can't see any deer in view at the time...every 15 min? Hour? Five min?

I don't subscribe to a lot of the flak given to the media, but I have to speak out on this. In the past I've known that Fox was in bed with the right to such a degree it couldn't really be taken seriously. I thought CNN was better. It's not. In this election I've just seen nothing like what the clinton news network is doing. They have a virtual blackout on clinton and are going full bore into making this election a referendum on trump. Wikileaks they barely touch and if they do it's with an incredibly dishonest slant. But they have no problem going at trump on the stupidest things. I make no secret that I think republicans will lose this because they nominated the wrong guy. But, that does not make what the media is doing right. Anyway, to my pics. Like I said: virtual blackout on Hillary, full bore on Trump. I took these pics a few minutes ago and I could have done the very same any day of the week, any hour. CNN is absolutely obsessed with Trump in a very unhealthy manner.

I have a call that does buck, doe, fawn. I use it sometimes but have never had any luck with it that I can tell. I want a doe now. Some say blow the dawn noise, but no doe have ever responded to mine. I have done the doe call a little but that may also attract bucks. Normally for me I do a couple of fairly short sounds, no more than two seconds each call, wait a few sec, do it again. How often do you call? Or do you much?

They look barbed to me; won't retract fully if arrow is pulled out.

Thermocell has battery powered insoles but reviews are not good. The concept is sound, it should be easy to make an effective one.

But no bungee--won't the feet fly backward? I leave my bungee on all the time and my feet pop right in and out without issue; I have to say they work very well.

It looks like you don't have the bungee pressing on your heel to keep the styrups over the front of the foot...why is that?

My Molle straps came in. it's shocking what $16 gets. They seem really solid. I mounted them to my frame and carrying ~50 lbs (climber + sherpa + backpack on back of climber) no longer resulted in my straps cutting my shoulders to ribbons like the standard viper straps. However, absent a kidney belt (since ordered) the weight was still all on my shoulders. But the straps did as well as they possibly could with such weight. The straps mount nicely to the climber itself with the exception of the lateral load straps (so the entire thing doesn't slip to either side). Those don't reach long enough, a problem easily resolved with a loop of paracord on either side of the climber. I'll throw a pic up once the kidney belt is mounted.

Interesting. I've said the exact same thing about trump. My debate is only whether I vote for him or not; voting for her is a non-starter. I don't condone her corruption and dishonesty and can't in good conscious vote for her no matter what.

I say no for the same reason they can't use gun during bow season.
